Should I build my WP site directly in in my hosting or locally, in my PC with Wamp or similar and upload it when it has more than 5 pages + Policy, About, etc. at least?
Thank you

I generally prefer to build a site online. I'll use one of the "maintenance mode" plugins if I think it's too rough for the public in the beginning.

I also will publish posts "private" if I'm thinking the same about a post after I open the site initially.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

If the construction time is low and it's a newly registered domain, I just do it online. Nobody's watching anyway.

If the domain is getting traffic then I'd create a subdomain, build a simple 'under construction' index.html page for the subdomain, and then transfer it during a low traffic time.

I just always think it's best to develop in the live environment.

What "maintenance mode" plugin can you recommend, please?
      Thanks

I use a plugin called Smart Maintenance Mode. Go to add plugins and search for it in your wp control panel.

I like to change the .htaccess file to point only to my HTML placeholder. Just so there aren't any easily accessible doors to your site while it's under construction.

Insert this into your .htaccess file.
      Code:
      DirectoryIndex index.html
Although that plugin looks like it would work.

    I highly recommend DesktopServer | ServerPress.com

The pro version is well worth the investment. Of course, this only makes sense if you develop a lot of sites. If you're just making one, then you don't really need it.

I find it better to do it online but have everything set to no-index until ready. It is much easier to spot any plugin conflicts which may cause a problem later.
