Links not leaving site in WP??

I feel like there is a really simple answer to this, yet I am losing my mind over it.

I have two different plugins that I am using (one is for a video player and the other a local landing page creator.) Within BOTH, I have buttons or links that when they are clicked, they never leave my site. They try to add the URL they should be going to at the end of the page URL already there.

I am testing them on a site I just threw together this evening....but if you want to see what I mean, you can check them out.

http://www.livelifelivewell.com/lbp/...llness-center/ At the bottom of that page there is a facebook button that SHOULD lead to a facebook fan page. But instead, it tries to find the url within the root domain.

The same thing happens here....http://www.livelifelivewell.com/what...c-weight-loss/ There is a Get Started Now button at the top of the video...it should work without you having to watch the video. But again, rather than going to the link it should, it tries to stay within the root.

Is this a plugin problem (odd that it would happen in both) or is there a setting somewhere I need to change?

I used to build WP sites for clients all the time several years ago, and I am not sure if I am forgetting something, or if things have changed since then.

Thanks for any advice you might be able to offer.

This may sound like a dumb and obvious question, but even I do this mistake once in a while... Did you use http:// in front?

Yes, I did go back and put in the http, because I had left it out at first.

I am using Local Lander for one and Viral Video Box for the other. (I got them both as a bonus on a WSO.)

I also just realized those pages I put in the first post for you to see what I mean don't work because I had the pages set to private. :/ Ug! But regardless, the issue still stands with the links inside those pages. Because they were "samples" I didn't want them open to the public right now.

So, in going back again, it appears that on one of them, if I right click and hit "open in a new tab" it opens the correct link. But if I just click on the button, it does not work. Any thoughts on how to correct this?

    1. Can you copy the link you are using and paste it into a web browser and get to the page you want? In other words, first test the URL to be sure it's correct.

    2. In the WordPress editor, (Visual view) in the linking tool, there is a checkbox for "Open in a New Window". Usually that's what you want, such that your website stays open and if the visitor closes the page you sent them to then they are back on your page.

If the url is correct (including any upper/lower case), and you have the "http://" and any required ".www", then it should work. If all that is correct, and it still doesn't work then maybe you have a bad plugin causing trouble?

You can (usually) test by disabling all plugins and trying a test. You could even try temporarily switching to one of the WordPress default templates, in case it's a template problem.

    Hope this helps...

Yes, the plugins are updated as is WP. And if I do the aforementioned URL test, the link does indeed work. In fact, I can right click the button that contains the link and it will open correctly. But if I hit the button, it doesn't. I am guessing there is an issue within the plugin telling the button what to do, but I don't have ANY idea how to fix that. I tried my hand at the plugin editor just to see if there was anything that looked remotely erronous, but I just don't know enough about it to tell. I was hoping something would stick out like a sore thumb, but no such luck.
