What do you think of my new portfolio website?

I would like to have your opinion on my new portfolio website. At the moment it only consists of one page and one finished product. I will be adding the rest of the pages as I need them and when I grow my portfolio of services. I attempted to make it as responsive as I can using Bootstrap and adding custom media queries of my own.
I would like to know if I'm doing it the right way. So ... what do you think?

The portfolio in question: My Own Designs Portfolio Website

Clean and to the point! Personally I would maybe just do something about the blank margin space on the side. Maybe expand it somehow or add a design?

Thank you but I'm not sure what you expect me to do.
The original PSD design was 1600px wide. I reduced it to 1000px wide because I like it more this way and made it responsive too.

I am going to be straight and honest here. If I asked to see this page in an effort to determine if you were going to do work for me.. you would not be doing work for me.

You specialize in PSD to html conversions... why is it I am looking way down to the bottom left of the page to figure that out. Maybe use a slider image to convey that message? I mean you are right now sliding 1 image, and really whats the point?

I understand that you slice and dice the image to make a page, but for your page and to show EXAMPLES of your work, you think you might want to finish the example images off a bit, so they don't look like templates on your site?

Find a background image or color

If you have navigation buttons on your site...they need to be working. This I'll use as needed is silly. They ARE needed. you are trying to get work, not give people reasons NOT to give you work.

Why not try putting your best foot forward, and forget about the just getting by crap!

You are looking way down to the bottom left of the page because this is the section for content of the original PSD template.
I'm sliding only one image because I have only one PSD to html project completed - the one you are seeing in the slider. If I had more projects completed do you think I would not have included them in the slider presentation too?

If by slicing you mean using the slice too in Photoshop, no, I'm not using it. There is another method.
I was thinking about inserting real images but I'm not in a hurry. I have not started a thread with my services yet. I want to complete at least 4 projects before I do that and as of now I only have one project completed.

I will add links to the buttons when I have inner pages to link those buttons to. I mentioned that the site consists of only one page at the moment. I will be adding pages as I need them and prior to starting a thread with my offer.

I'm not very experienced in web design but I think it is a nice start! As I did notice in your original post you stated that you are posting your work has of right now and with what you have at the moment. I'm assuming it will be finished later at some point but you wanted some clarification and some opinions on where you stand at the moment in design. I Feel you need to do something with the blank(white) margins you have on the sides. Doesn't look so well and takes a visual back step to what your trying to display in the center. (If you can fix it then maybe swap it out for a new background).
Also the sliders buttons left to right aren't centered. should be and inch higher. has to you tab buttons not having links no worries... Bottom of the page is nice, clean and well done. Overall, nice job so far.

Are you referring to the background of the body tag? I just changed it to a dark background.

Thanks. I think I fixed it (if we are talking about the same thing).

Sweet! Now it looks much better. now you just need to start adding details to your site.

Not exactly. I'm not a designer. I turn existing designs into templates using html and css. I took this free website template and modified it the way I want so that it suits my purposes.

I agree with savidge, you should perhaps add an other page that you can link to from the About nav button, otherwise it doesn't make sens to have the "About".

It's a good start but I would definitely add a couple of more pages with some more info and pictures on them before I show it to potential clients.

As I already mentioned, I would do that before I introduce my services to clients. I haven't yet written the text for the About section and the rest of the sections of the site. That is why I haven't added them. This will be the last thing I would do for the site prior to introducing my services. Currently I'm working on new projects to enlarge my portfolio which is far more important than adding some text in a new About page.

I have added the rest of the pages. Although it consists of only 2 finished products, my portfolio website is now completed. More examples of my work will be added in the near future.

    1. I think the style are a little to dark.
    2. You could make the "Hire Me" Button with HTML and CSS3.
    3. Dark grey Font color at black background color? Heavy to read.
    4. At your stylesheet at body,p stands "font-family: sans-serif, Cambria, "Hoefler Text", "Liberation Serif", Times, "Times New Roman"; "..... the priority goes from left to right and at every client should be installed a sans-serif font....

I had a lot of "tips" for you, if you want -> send PN, :-)

Yes, I preserved the color scheme of the original psd design. I'm not a web designer. If you believe a different color scheme is better, I will listen to your suggestions and if I find them better, implement them.

I inserted this line of fonts with Dreamweaver and just added sans-serif as the first choice as I never intended to use the rest of the fonts. I don't think these fonts clutter the code much so I never bothered to remove them.

By the way, you site is great and looks much better than mine.
