Cloning a WP site that isn't mine

Hi there.

My question is this: is there a way for me to clone the WP site without having access to the admin panel? If so, how do I do that?

I have been doing WP sites for a number of clients. Usually, I create it on a demo site then transfer it to their hosting service once it is completed. I have a new client who has her stuff hosted with a guy who has a very difficult personality and is making it very difficult to do anything... on top of it, he is dying and is just a really angry, uncooperative dude.

She knows absolutely ZERO about anything technical so having her call GoDaddy to get her username and passwords to transfer her domains to a new Nameserver is a scary prospect.

This guy has already proven again and again that he will not cooperate in helping me. He removed all of the WP install tools and is trying to convince her that I don't know anything about wordpress. Her business is being controlled by his mood and I want to help her get out from under his control. He has offered to charge her $200 to transfer the site when I could just use Updrafts Backup & Restore to transfer the site if he would unlock the wordpress tools in the cpanel.

Anyway, I recommended she get her own hosting with hostgator and make sure she has all the information she needs. I will need to transfer her site from the angry, uncooperative guy as well as her new site that I just created for her to hostgator and really don't want to do it manually (or as little as possible).

Is there a way to clone a WP site without having access to the admin panel?

Thanks,
Kerri

What if she threatens legal action against this guy? Go daddy is fairly good at helping people. Email her the questions to ask GoDaddy then she has it infront of her when asking.

If it's the "uncooperative guy's" hosting account and she doesn't have admin access to the site you're both out of luck.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

      WinHTTrack.

I don't know how it performs in WP sites but its the best mirroring tool I found. It can bypass robot rules if you switch on the appropriate settings

its facts even how good your tools is, if you have no control of the hosting then you're out of luck...and even worse if the hosting account is owned by "Uncooperative guy" not cool...

Well, she needs to just get over it or fork out $200 bucks to this guy. A simple call to Godaddy is all she needs to get access and she won't do it? Get access and then change the password to lock him out and get on with the job.
