Need help with thank you page

WEB DESIGN

What program would I use to create a thank you page and how would I get the link for it from my server? I did come up with an idea, I don't know how professional it would look though. I created a new page on my blog and made it a thank you page and made it private. That way I could just use the link to that page as the redirect link, but the sidebar stuff shows. Is this a bad idea? If so what would be recommended?

Instead of making the WordPress page private
install this plugin: pageMash

with this plugin you have the ability to re-order your pages anyway you want and hide pages too. I use it and it's a very handy WordPress plugin to have.

Hey jaypick,
I don't think there's anything wrong with what you came up with. Your fix will work just fine unless you're after a certain "look" of the thank you page. Good job tweaking WP!

Is your salespage on WordPress as well? If not, then it might be weird to be redirected to a WordPress page. If you just have a payment button on your blog and need to redirect PayPal or whatever payment processor you're using to a download/thank you page, then you should be golden.

Making your page "Private" would mean your visitor would have to be logged in to view it - not really what you want (you can see it because you are logged in - try it without being logged in to confirm)

Karen has the right idea with that plugin to "hide" your page - there is also one called wp-low-profiler which does a similar job - and I am sure there will be others.
