What do you think of my dating website homepage

I think, the blue part on the top can be overwhelming because of the lack of photos. Instead of just one girl on the top part of the website, maybe use more photos of different asian ladies I think there are lots out there

(No offense but the cropping of the girl is pretty bad)

Other than that, the website looks good.

I have to agree with this one.

The website looks like its good to go, but the girl needs to be more enticing.... or maybe more asian because its "Dates of Asia" after all.

The model is my partner. A little photo shoot she did the whole american flag got me thinking it would be good to "entice" americans. (It seems my judgment on the photo was wrong though).

You need to work on eye-gravity.

We typically move from Left-top to Right-down.

However, our eyes naturally go to pictures before anything else. It's subconscious. When I looked at the girl, there was no caption. Then my eyes had to move back to the left... which was very counter-intuitive. If you really, really want to... Make sure the model's eyes are looking somewhat towards the left.

Or... put the picture on the left, then the form on the right.

Or take a leaf out of OKCupid's book: http://www.okcupid.com/

They used a simple headline and immediately placed the form right there so it would be easy for the person to enter their info. If you click next, it then offers you a Facebook login or to create an account.

You should be aiming for registrations... Getting them to create an account immediately so you can have leads in your database to follow-up on.

Thanks some great suggestions. I understand what you mean going from top left downward. Also with all the remarks about the photo above it already got me thinking about that whole above the fold area to perhaps change it to a sign up form instead of a search form. I am loving all this "food for thought" and really appreciate the constructive criticism.

Thanks for the offer its appreciated, I am actually waiting to find "the right" image. I like the layout of that image but I want to find a better one with a older looking male so it will appeal to the male members who will most likely upgrade their accounts. It will also appeal to the Filipino girls more I think a more matured responsible looking guy appeals to them in the online dating world.

There is so much more to do I just do small bits here and there (kind of a online hobby the last few years)

Not at all. I appreciated the feedback. It is too easy to be blinded by your own tunnel vision and after somebody else points it out you realise wow that really doesn't "fit". I told her she is demoted from the website for now. She just gave me a cheeky grin and was cool with it.

I would honestly copy that flow and layout with your content and images. This design has been proven time and time again to convert the best.

Sign up box always on the right. The model is fine and she looks good am sure she would fit into the site somewhere!

imogenhobbs is right about the image of your model. An important rule of photography and it pertains to web design also is to always have images of people or animals look to the center of the image or page to draw your viewers attention inward and not outward. In this case to your sign up form. After all you don't want them looking away from your media. Try lightening the dark blue background a little to allow your form to stand out more as that is what you want your viewers to click on. By the way it looks good on all of the mobile resolutions that I viewed it in also which is a good thing. Nice Job.

I'd say bigger logo, slightly older gentleman in the couple (you know those looking for ladies and with credit card)

Also, can you change the profile pics, it's weird to see them in circles, and they are kind of distorted

Thanks for the all ideas. I already started to make some adjustments. Totally scrapped the search box in place of a registration box and the new image the couple does work well but I think I need to work more on finding a good looking couple with an older man.

I am so happy I came across this Warrior Forum its fantastic. I really love all the advice from you all its priceless.

Looks good. However, it would've looked way better if your couple picture wasn't cropped. It's showing a few tiny white pixels on the edges that makes it quite look a bit amature-ish. This aside, the design looks great and I love the form.

Your website looks great. Great use of white space and minimal distractions. The only thing I would suggest is to make your logo a little bigger, its not noticeable.

i'm a designer from PH and i do not find the site "enticing" for Filipinos and Americans. I think you need to work well with the landing page, especially the part where it loads at first. I'm talking about th models, the photoshop work was really bad. And there's so many areas to work. Search page, login page, registration page. etc.

I am also new to Warrior forum, here are my thoughts though, hope it will help you.

1) I think the top menu bar could use some separation from the rest of the hero region. May be a different color and pad it out better.

2) As some of the warriors have already mentioned the image in the hero unit is badly cropped. If possible find a better pic.

3) Some how I didn't find the color blue that attractive, may be use a different pattern in with the blue color you used. It might just be me though

4) Coming to the middle section background gets cut off, it isn't going well with the rest of the layout. Try making it full width as well. What I meant is the background of that region should take the entire width of the screen.

5) The footer could use some more work and style the yellow form with some other color if possible.

These are the things I noticed in the first view. Hope it helps
