Hey Warriors,

I have a client reporting to me that when looking at their website using an Apple Mac and Safari, that the Home page is not rendering correctly, specifically near the Tab/Article content area.

I'm having trouble replicating what they see, so have no idea how and what to fix.

If you are using an Apple Mac and Safari, could you please take a look at this site and send me a screen shot of what you see?

Thanks Warriors!

      It sure does Jake, thanks!

From all the other folks who have seen this thread, I'm assuming that no one else using Apple Mac and Safari has seen anything wrong with how the site renders, so I'm stumped.

Why else would someone using a Mac and Safari see issues on the site that no one else is seeing?

They are reporting that the area directly below the menu tab (the articles) is covering the menu tab.

      Any thoughts?

      Thanks!

        Glad I could help Rob

I've just checked the website again using my external 1920 x 1080 monitor (earlier on I was out and using my laptop screen) and again the website is rendering fine.

The only possible thing I can think of is that someone has accidentally zoomed in whilst on the computer. I've just checked this myself and can confirm that the menu will overlap the articles if zoomed in (although it does have to be zoomed in quite a lot).

To return to a 100% zoom view, they need to press both "cmd" and "0" at the same time.

Worth a shot to see if that fixes it for them, but it does look to be an issue at their end and not related to a Mac and Safari.

I don't think it is a Mac/Safari problem. They must be viewing the page with the window fairly small. If you load your page, then drag the browser window to see how the page responds when the window is smaller, you'll see what happens.

The image rotator starts forcing the text in your menu on the left to wrap. When it wraps, the container holding the text gets taller, making it overlap with the element below it.

So, on to what is causing this... Your site's main area has three columns in it. Your menu on the left is naturally in the left column. But your Latest News and Events is in the center column with a left margin of -350px. This forces the Latest News and Events to look like it is in the left column when it is not. So when the menu wraps and gets taller as the window gets smaller, the Latest News and Events doesn't know to move down accordingly because it is in a different part of the page.

          Hello again,

So helpful, thank you very much JakeM1 and GeneralLedger.

General, do you think then that if we put that article block into the left column, instead of the center column that this would circumvent the issue?

Thanks again to both of you for your helpful insights!

Rob, yeah, if you move everything inside your widgets_left div out of the center column so that it is under your navbar code and change the margin-left:-350px; to width:175%; on the widgets_left div that should do it.

PM me if you need help offline.
