Any suggestions for my new site?

I started this site as a business directory/community website for my hometown - Tallahassee, Fl. Been working on the content and just wanted some constructive criticism. I need to add to it but I'm a bit stuck on what to add.

    Food - list directory of fast foods, restaurants, diners, etc.

    Lodging: motels - rooms with the door on the outside; hotels - rooms with the doors inside a corridor (yes, it makes a difference on preference - I worked in hotel industry for 10 years in both motels and hotels).

    Public Parks
    Bike Trails
    Gyms
    Walking paths
    Dog parks
    Clubs

    It's all I can think of right now.

      i think the site looks good and simple... i just don't like the sidebar, its text heavy.. maybe you can make it simpler and not too many menus because people will get tired trying to find what they need.. make it more organized as well as the menu below the header.. but i like the concept, makes floridians get easier and faster access to what's happening in their area particularly tallahassee. just make it more organized so viewers won't get confused with what you want them to see....

    It looks okay but nothing special there.
    The theme looks a little dated too. I think you should check out more themes that can suit better for the website. Good luck!

    First, improve your site design, it is a great factor. Then, improve the content, add articles and content into your site that is unique, interesting and intelligent. Then use keywords intelligently in your website content. Use SEO Meta tags. Setup your site's robots.txt file search engine indexing and use internal linking properly.

    Do backlinking, social media marketing, marketing to your local clients this way and they would share your site with others on social media and forums and link back to you themselves.

    Have an SEO company look at your site, they could offer you free advice on what to do more and maybe offer you a good cheap affordable SEO package that can get all this and more done for you easily while you work on improving your site's design and content.
