Ebook Delivery after opt-in

I'm setting up an opt-in box using Aweber on my Wordpress blog where I will be giving away a free ebook. I was wondering the best way for the person opting in to download the ebook.

Should I just place a direct link to the book in the first Aweber email or should I create a special thank you and download page? If I go with the thank you/download page how do I hide the page in the blog so it is not accessable without a link.

Usually I create double opt-in. After they confirm their email, they go to special thank you page, inside is instruction how to download the freebies.

Or You could have the download link on the second email after they confirm their email.

To hide the download page from your blog, you just need to create a new folder that only you and the subscribers know the links.

But that is just my 2 cents :-)

Thanks for the response. I will create a double opt-in using Aweber. Do you create the download page within the Wordpress blog or just create separate thank you/download html pages on the host?

I use my own autoresponder, but the concept is the same as above. I don't like to just send the link to the file as if you send them to a Thank You page, you can write anything you want on it, talk about your other products or even have a "OTO" One Time Offer on that page.... This has worked well for me in the past.

I'll create separate thank you page/download HTML to offer them maybe OTO or another products. You can make money from the download page also. Thats what i learn from Mark Joyner, its called "Integrated Marketing" :-)

A separate and self-made page is better in my opinion. If you know HTML you can make one easily.

Ya do the double opt in and send them to a landing page with a link to download. As stated above another offer is great to ad as well.
