    google adsense is "weird something"

I do encounter recently ....few cents only 1000+ vistors.

but actually adsense is more on click on the ads which earn more than your traffic...

even with related niche ad ....also hard to tell people willing to click...

I would suggest you to try other ad networks because chances are that they might be paying more for your traffic. Also, it depends on CPC of your niche. Are you sure this is really traffic and not some bot traffic?

The reason for low income was you have placed the low CPC Keywords or else poor Ad Placements make sure proper ad placement make huge amount of money for your site. Make a better niche website and boost your Traffic.

Do people actually click on your ads? If not then what do they do when they visit your site? How long do they stay? Are they clicking on anything else? By knowing the behavior of your visitors that's how you get more revenue from your adsense ads.

So your problem could have many reasons. I had a site where I made $30 per day with half the traffic you're getting. But my ads were the first thing people saw when visiting the site. And for those who did not click on the ads I had interesting content with affiliate links and they clicked on those. I tracked every click and whatever people liked to click on I found a way to turn that into something I can make money with.

If all this traffic is from people actually interested in the content of your site, you can certainly make money. I could give you some ideas on how to optimize your revenue but you'd have to give me more info about your site.

The questions I would ask is:

    1. Is the traffic legit? What are you using for stats?
    2. If the traffic is real, are you strategically placing the ads or just slapping up whatever and hoping to make money?

      Thank you everyone for responding!

(I dont know if I am allowed to post my link, trying to post it, if against the rules, tell me and I'll edit it out. Its News - GadgTecs - The Premier Science & Technology News)

How can I check if the traffic is legit?

Basically my site is about science and technology and I post latest news, interesting related articles etc. Twice, my link became viral on reddit (made the front page) and I had a LOT of people, but they mostly visited just that link. Bounce rate is VERY high (around 50%)

I have 3 ads on a page. One Main banner (728x90), one is side bar (300x2something) and one is above articles (smaller banner)

Average duration is also low (60 seconds)

Most of my traffic is from USA (46%), then UK (3.5%) and then Pakistan (3%)..

In fact, on weekends, traffic even reaches 4000hits per day! (that time I made 1$ on google

I tried CPM ads by Adhexa, but the stats were way off! I use Google Analytics (also checked via my cPanel), Adhexa was under reporting wayyy to much!

If Google said I had 1000 unique views, Adhexa would say only 10..

hence I ended with them and back to google

(I dont want any popup ads of ads that cover the whole screen or fixed floating that cant go away. Honestly, I hate them and I dont want those for my visitors!)

Now what should be the next step

      regards

Google Analytics is good, but views are not what to go by. You should pay attention to the unique visitors, aka users. Views can be inflated by the same person visiting your site and going through a bunch of pages.

When you said you hit 4K hits on the weekend, what do you exactly mean by "hits"? Is that views or unique visitors?

As for a lack of clicks, it's not surprising. People are banner blind more than ever.

Based on a review of your site, I think you should think of other ways to monetize your site.

    1. Affiliate programs.
    2. Start building an email list if you haven't already done so.
    3. Try replacing one of those article boxes at the top with an ad. Example: Search Engine Land | Must Read News About SEO, SEM & Search Engines. Top right corner box is an ad, but it looks very much like regular content.
    4. Add an ad within the posts.
    5. Test out text and display ads.

You should check if the traffic is bots or not. Also check if you have quality content. Find out the keywords you are getting traffic for and use affiliate ads based on them.

Why not slap a CPA/CPL offer on there? If your traffic is quite good your total ROI will be much better than adsense or any other CPC offer, as CPM is kind of an outdated business model and not many merchants like to pay on a CPM basis anymore compared to few years ago.

Why don't you slap some CPA offers on your site that cater to your visitor's demographics and interests? You might make a lot more the 50 cents a day ... especially if you're already at 1.5k daily visitors
