I've used TrafficVance, LeadImpact, and 50onRed for a few years now w/o a problem, but ive never had such awful traffic, and such awful customer service as POF.

Ive been able to get all my major traffic platforms to convert, but POF, despite dropping something like 500 bucks on a known converting campaign just wouldnt convert. Horrible CTR, terribly inconsistent ad approval, and quite simply non converting traffic.

I had like 30 bucks left and I asked for an unused account credit. Basically refund the unused money so I can spend it where it will actually work.

No. They said they won't.

I'm just warning people, buyer beware. Their traffic (for me) is worthless, doesnt convert on an offer ive been killing it with for 6 months now, and they dont allow you to get your money back for unused ad spend.

Unhappy customer right here.

Interesting. Because I just started two weeks ago...

And I have a different story.

I've been breaking even with $200 spent.

Here's a couple of my results from a couple days ago too.. (didn't include the last two days at work at the moment).

    10/24/2014 – 49,734 impressions 54 clicks…Cost $29. – I made only 2 sales (made $12)
    10/25/2014 – 32,518 impressions 56 clicks cost $24 – I made 5 sales (made $30)
    10/26/2014 – 35,554 impressions 58 clicks cost $26 – I made 4 sales (made $24)

Don't blame the traffic source, instead think about what you can do better. Maybe you need a different angle, a different creative, are you direct linking or are you using a custom landing page? Try A/B testing and make another landing page. What are you bidding? Are you staggering your ads.

I started with .31 cpm and had 10 ads up. From there, I waited till each one hit 1,000 impressions. If none got a click I killed ad. The ones that had a click within 1,000 impressions I scaled it and went from there.

POF is a great traffic source.
You need to be testing lots of images on there, if you want succeed.

Pof truly works. You must understand the intent of the traffic you get from Pof. The intent of most members of Pof is Dating. So it is difficult to convert the traffic on Non Dating offers. But yes if you have killer offer which just cannot be refused, it will work surely. Try to use and landing page and presell the offer on the landing page itsself . Also try direct linking the offer. Split test both. The method which gives you higher conversion, scale it up and kill the other one. I am sure it will convert. I know Pof is tricky but it surely works.

I've never once run a dating offer but have run several profitable campaigns on POF in a few different niches. I'm sure dating is MORE profitable but in some market segments I see POF as effective as Facebook.

Any niche will convert well on POF if you understand your demographics (age, sex, income, marital status etc. etc.).

I'm promoting eBooks on ClickBank and the campaigns are profitable.

People don't ever take the time to understand the demographics behind their niche. Once that's understood the rest becomes a lot easier.

They could have been a bit more lenient with the ad credit. I know of many marketers who love POF.

GGpaul thanks for sharing that and your strategy of when you kill your non performing ads. Wonder how many successful ads you want to eventually end up with per campaign?

Question is, why wont POF refund what you have not used? Are they upfront about not crediting unused deposits? If not I find that really deceptive.

Not every traffic source converts equally, especially as the products vary including your lander and even ads. I mean there's a LOT of keywords that don't convert on Adwords either when you promote a product. It's just the nature of the game. It really is all about testing afterall. Some offers just convert better than others depending on the traffic source.

But taking your case study, POF type of traffic is aimed at people who want to date and socialize ... so to make an example, hitting them with clothing or gambling offers might not be an ideal strategy.

The CPA/CPL game is really just about testing, tweaking and testing even more. Remember: the shotgun approach always tends to hit something which allows you to then fine-tune your campaign for maximum ROI

Well if they treated me that way I'd feel the same way too. You might do better usng ppv and targeting all the pof profile page links and all the pages that link into pof.

By the way, message me, I have a digital product that targets the same demographic you might be interested in.

POF does works for me, Due to huge traffic available in that site, we should start with optimum bids, and yes, their ad approval team only works on their office hours, but i think it is far better than LeadImpact ad approval who only works on weekdays, but pof ads were reviewed even on sundays too.

For to make a campaign profitable, one must need to get a decent CTR for their ads, then by rotating the offers, we can make profitable.

I was making consistent profits with pof, so i am confident in saying POF traffic really works.
