Google Slapping Entire NICHES!

I just got an email from Amish Shah about his upcoming seminar in San Diego and what he said in that email was pretty surprising; Google is NOW slapping entire niches!

If you are advertising in teeth whitening, weight loss, colon cleansing etc., it's basically
GAME OVER for you with Google Adwords. They don't want your business any more.

According to him he just got this information yesterday. Not sure what his source is, but as many of you know he is a serious player in IM with a 8 figure a year business, so I would think his information is pretty damn accurate.

Has anyone felt the affects of this slap yet?

Well all that i know is that the rules to post ads on social networks are changing too. So it could be right. hoping that this is not the end of all niches we are promoting here.

Remember that he's an Internet marketer. You aren't on his list to get helpful tips and tricks your on his list so he can promote to you.

What do Internet marketers do? Create hype.

What was he promoting in that mailing? His seminar in San Diego.

So what was he trying to create hype about using this "Google is going to slap everything" and what was he trying to get you to buy?

    There's a motive for everything...

Anyway IMO they will not slap whole niches, they will simply create stronger guidelines.

Maybe go as far as to not allow certain keywords to be used. (Just like drugs. stimulus, Obama, and pills can't be used now.)

We talked about this a lot yesterday on different threads. There is a whole world outside of Google and the big 4 PPC markets.

And there is a lot less competition and you'll make a lot more profit.

I was in a lot of the niches Google is about to slap and Yahoo! is slapping Friday.

    But what can you do?

Move on to the next traffic source and diversify where your money comes from.

    Hint: Think offline too.

Anyway not the end of the world even though lots of people were making 4-5 figures a day just with Adwords and **** etc.

    Zach

P.S- Don't want this thread to turn into a hate Amish thread. And I know it's innapropraite to call someone out. But why is a guy who apparently is making 15+ million a year in the IM niche? Even if he has one of the biggest launches in the MMO niche in history he still will just clear a few million a.k.a a few months worth. (And he won't be able to beat MC2.0 or PFL2.0)

I have a feeling he is hurting a lot more than he's leading on and that he knows his time is soon gonna be up.

well if you google "**** berry" you will find enough review sites still out there so I don't think this will happen overnight.

I think you can continue to expect Google making its PPC quality score rules stricter and stricter. No big surprise. The PPC quality score will keep getting closer and closer to the criteria required to rank in natural search.

I am going to go with Google Tightening their guidlines again. It is only to be expected. Just like any other business we need to change and adapt. That is also part of the fun!

The niche being wiped away is "scammy rebills." It's good news for those of us who promote straight sales of teeth whiteners, diet products, and so on with legitimate techniques.

I run some CPA stuff on the content network and I have yet to see any of my campaigns affected.

One thing people need to understand is that if you are not in control of the process, you will never be able to build a solid business in any market.

Stop letting Google determine how your business is going to turn out.

Amish also pointed out that Google only controls 30% of the overall Internet traffic. Most people think of the 60-70% figure everyone always quotes, but that's related specifically to search traffic. That means that of all the other traffic sources available, 70% of it has nothing to do with Google. This means that you can still rake in millions by tapping into these alternative sources.

Don't get me wrong, I love using Adwords because without it I would not have been able to start making money with a very modest budget in the beginning. It also gave me the ability to scale really fast and that was great for my business. I then begin building my business around PPC which was very stupid. I have been slapped so many times by Google you would think I'm their little b**ch.

But I have since diversified because I wanted to build something long term and I began to realize that using strictly PPC was not a very good long term strategy.

I would suggest you look into the content network, because there are tons on inventory on Google's hand that needs to be filled.

Interesting post. The reality is that when Google or any other network starts
its slapping frenzy, new opportunities open up for people who are creative, and
who are willing to do whatever extra work is needed to give Google what it wants.

Totally unrelated to Google, but when eBay stopped allowing info downloads, many
ebook marketers just gave up. In the meantime the demand is still there, and those
who adjusted and started using CDs are working harder, but making money without
        nearly as much competition.

Google is always slapping... just put up quality sites, and you will do well.

and I almost forgot... Never rely solely on Google anyway.
