Something pretty confusing

There is this cpa offer promising a free coupon, and all it requires is a email address. It looks professional enough and I can't really see why targeted traffic would not optin.

I sent a bunch of clicks to it but so far nobody has entered their email. Its weird because the traffic was extremely targeted and the offer was exactly what they were looking for. Yet no one takes the bait.

Then I looked at the EPC for the offer and it is $0.01.

I wonder if there is something I am missing here.

What is confusing to you? .01/click, why the poor results, or why you would send a bunch of traffic to such an offer?

The majority of offers on the network I am using have low epc.

Also in the past I have seen offers that offered decent returns but had low epc. I have heard people send spam traffic to these offers which is why the epc is so low. So I try not to base my thinking of the epc only (although of course it is usuall a huge factor).

Just out of curiosity... how much is a "bunch" of clicks and when you say targeted, where is that traffic coming from?

For some reason I've got a bad feeling about this one too...

"A bunch" is probably 50 clicks and "targeted" is paid traffic, like 5000000 visitors for $10.

      I could be wrong though...

Legitimate clicks from Bing. About 30 clicks so far, so not that much but more than enough in this case to tell me something is up.

Most of the keywords are like *company name* coupon, get *company name* coupon online. So the traffic is very targeted to the offer.

Yet all these 30 people after having searched for this specific coupon decline to submit their email. That's what makes it weird.

Could be that that particular offer is over saturated in that traffic source. Try putting your own spin on things then providing the option to sign up on page two or something. Just an idea.... Test with it!

A large factor is your traffic source. The targeted traffic phrase is being used awful broadly lately. If your using something like Bing ads you should grad some leads with proper optimization. If your using ppv traffic a number of factors are in place with this route.

Requires a lot of testing and practicing.

You know, over saturation was definitely something I was thinking was a reason for the low conversion. I guess its very possible they had seen the offer many times before which is why they didn't want to optin to it.

I guess I am going to have to be creative with my traffic. Thanks man!
