Horrible $0.04 Adsense RPM

Hey Guys,

I made an Imgur clone, put ads on it, and started getting traffic from reddit. Well, I got almost 3,500 impressions in the last 6 hours. The only problem is that I got exactly 0 clicks, and only $0.11 earnings for those 3,500 impressions.

Umm... ...?

Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

I just have the image, then a 300x250 advert on the right side on the top.

    The reason behind low RPM is poor quality of traffic you are getting. better focus on providing organic traffic.

        Exactly, These are the source of organic traffic and it will definitely increase your RPM

      Organic traffic is not the end all be all. I would also focus on other forms of traffic which could include Article Marketing traffic and forms of paid traffic.

    Nobody earns by spamming ,try some genuine traffic methods .And don't stick to adsense only ,try other sources too

      Ok what the hell...I posted links on reddit and got 5000 views only 2 clicks. That is 0.04% CTR!

    Whats your website url?

    I have a wallpaper site and although I'm not getting much traffic like you but my RPM is $2 to $5...So, it depends on the traffic origin (country).

    Hmm...to earn some good money from photo sharing based website your impressions must be 10000 per day as in this kind of webpage people come visit explore the images and exit....try to change website niche and using same reddit traffic tweaks you'll surely get increase in adsense

    Stop posting in Reddit. Low conversions and higher concentration of people who will try to **** you over out of spite or boredom.

    You can advertise in Reddit but the way you're doing it is unlikely to work.

    First off, you aren't helping anybody by making a knockoff of a site that already exists.

    Secondly, just think for a second: people on Reddit click a link to an image to look at the image and then go back to Reddit. They have absolutely no interest in viewing your Adsense ads or clicking on them. A lot of Reddit users also use Adblock meaning they won't even see your ads to begin with.

    In short, you need to use your brain and re-evaluate your business model. You are trying to make money by showing ads to people who are unwilling to view ads.
