When should I change an offer that isn't converting?

So I am running tests on a campaign on PoF and I am noticing an offer hasn't had any conversions yet, its still early in the process, I only got 5 clicks on the offer out of 12 total from my landing page.

So 5 people got to the offers page and none converted.

My question is, how long should I wait until I change this offer and try another one?

I know some people have a rule where if they spent more than double the amount of the offer payout, they will swap it. Well my offer payout is $7.50 and I spent almost $10 now and got nothing.

Should I wait or swap it? If I wait, how long and how do I know when its time?

Also, once again, this is the testing phase, I am still testing everything including the ads, once they all reach 2k impressions, I'll start killing off the bad ones.

In my experience 5 clicks is too early to tell.

Its a very small sample size to see if you'd get a conversion. What demo are you targeting and what type of dating offer? Each has restrictions on what they're looking for.

How long did it take for you to generate the clicks?

Honestly a lot of it has to do with your individual budget and how long you're willing to let it go before a conversion takes place. There are a lot of variables to consider.

I'm targeting the older audience and using a niche dating site I believe...
Bridge of Love its a Ukraine girl site, figured I could make it work with my angle...

But now today I am literally getting no clicks at all, so I think this campaign might be a total failure, I might drop it and start a different campaign...

My budget is very small and I am a newbie still. I am holding a job but lets just say my budget is $200.

I am not trying to spend much more than $10-$20 a day. I'd like to keep around $10
From what I've seen so far, testing is expensive, and I don't know when its a good time to stop testing and stop optimizing.

I generated 13 clicks in 1 day (yesterday), 6 of them went to the offer from my landing page, none of them converted.

Today I generated 3 this morning, 2 of them went to the offer and none converted, so I changed offers and now am waiting.

Honestly right now, more than anything, I believe my main problem is the CTR, I am not getting much clicks at all, its horrible.

Yesterday it was 0.073 or so
Today is at a horrible 0.023

So either my audience isn't interested in what I am offering or my ads completely suck. I really wanna start a new campaign with a fresh better idea

I think that you would do better with a bigger demo. I know with-in our network they are getting about a 8% conversion rate max. To my knowledge none of my affiliates are straight out buying traffic they are either working a email list or generating the traffic via websites and such. The average for the whole network is 3.2% YTD

While still testing you really should try different banners and LPs. Vary between them, compare the results and see what happens.
It is also important to choose the right offer. Bare in mind that people don't like very much when they got to fill forms, give their phone numbers etc. If the offer you are testing is of this kind, I'd recommend to stop it and test with something which is easier to convert.

I think your click count is way too low - consider throwing about 100-200 total clicks at this and then start trimming down on keywords. On CPL products you should aim for around a 15% conversion rate as well which is considered good.

Also your CTR needs to improve as well, as generally you want to aim for about 1-2% CTR at campaign level at the very minimum if you are using search.

    Hope that helps

Alright guys I switched campaigns, started a new one. I overall didn't like the campaign I was using so I started a new one.

Let me keep this short by saying the CTR of my new campaign during testing is barley staying at 0.1, but its going decent.

      I got 22 clicks
10 of them made it to the offers page, no conversions still. I am still on Peerfly.

I'd love to throw 100-200 clicks, but my budget is not that much to even consider testing 100 people
By the way I am using Social PPC (PoF)

Well, I think it's clear that it's too early, but when starting a new campaign you should split test between at least two offers

I just switched to a different offer on a different network (Neverblue)
I had a better feeling about this offer and guess what, my campaign EXPLODED

Not exploded in a crazy way, but for a beginner like me, its great.

      Lets look at these numbers

      Peerfly Offer:

      - Ran it today and got 15 legit total clicks, no conversions. I let it run half of today and got sick of it due to no results.
Why? Because yesterday I ran a different campaign and got no results with peerflys offers. Now today the same thing? I got annoyed and trashed it.

      15 legit clicks
      0 conversions
      $14 spent

      NEVERBLUE Offer:
      - I picked a different offer, on Neverblue, I had a good feeling about this offer due to its high quality looking landing page and simple sign up process (peerflys offer also had a simple process imo)

I ran THIS for half the day today also.

Within less than 1 hour I got 5-6 clicks and 1 conversion.
Less payout than the different offer I used on peerfly, but who cares, it converted easily.

Next hour, another conversion. 9 total clicks, 2 total conversions.

I reached my daily limit of $30 I set, and ended the campaign for today.
      3 conversions
      24 clicks

Out of nowhere, when I ended the campaign, 1 more click showed up a few minutes later, boom 1 last conversion.

      Neverblue results:
      25 total clicks
      4 total conversions

      $21 earned.
$15 - $16 spent ON THE NEVERBLUE OFFER

      $4 or $5 total profit.

This is actually my first ACTUAL good result, a light in the darkness for me.
So I see a little hope, I need to optimize now and bring my numbers up.

I don't understand why Neverblue works so well for me, and peerfly doesn't work at all. It makes no sense, Maxbounty and Peerfly are supposedly the #1 CPA Networks, but for some reason they aren't getting me any money.

But when I go to Neverblue I almost always get some luck.

It sounds like the offer you found at Neverblue is a winner. If it's completely different than the offer at PeerFly, then it's not really a fair comparison. Some offers will convert better than others. As you said, you like the landing page better for the offer at NB than PF. Your audience must feel the same.

I'd be happy to try to find a better offer for you to test on PF. PM or email me if you're interested

Mate, 15-20 clicks are actually very less and IF you got to make some decision then wait for atleast 100 clicks or so...

If it doesnt converts even after 100 clicks.. Then you can change it other offer and see if it converts or not...

    Thanks

I don't really understand that concept, its basically spending $50 to test 1 offer...
If it fails you just lost $50

you need to have enough sample to test the winner

This is what I do and this helps me a lot. I have like 5 landing pages that I split test and then like 5 offers that I split test. this way I rotate the landing pages and the offers and I track all the conversions. Doing this I don't fear spending $500 - $1,000 then with the data I have I optimize to get pretty high ROI. Maybe you might not believe me but on one offer I lost $400 upfront with no conversion but currently am doing with it 600% ROI. Now that being said you need to research your niche properly and see what angles to target on Landing Page. The way you presell on landing page thats the way you will get convert your visitors.

    Hope this helps.
