How To Make Money With Polls

Hi guys.
I got into CPA a few weeks ago and made a few poll pages. I'll use the Sarah Palin page for this example.

I made a poll page and then advertised on Google content networks. I capped my budget at 100/day and then used a program to automatically rotate offers and use the one which gave the highest ROI. My ROI eventually climbed to 300%. These were happy days. I spent 100/d and made back almost exactly 300. I wrote some code to send me SMS alerts if anything went wrong and automatically pause google adwords, etc. I thought I had the whole system automated and set - all my programming skills finally came in handy

As time progressed, more and more people bid on Sarah Palin, and today I realized my bid prices had gone up so high that I ended up trashing the whole page and made some new ones.

I want to try my luck on search engine ppc but it seems that my landing page quality is too low. Even though my CTR is between 1-2%, my bids keep getting raised to 0.20 and 0.30 cents.

I tried everything, including adding about me, home and privacy pages. Adding meta keywords, all the page formatting and necessary tags, etc etc. I used speedPPC and LPGen and still had no luck in increasing my quality score.

Do you guys have any recommendations for a CPA n00b. Please send me a private msg. I'm open to trading my resources: programming, time, or anything else I can provide for some advice as well.

(One thing that I learned from all this is that it really is possible to go from 0 to 300/day in 24 hours and it's possible for anybody to repeat what I've done over and over with more than 1 page as long as you test and track)

Thanks,
-Mike

I'm interested in what you did to do so well (without giving away your secrets) I have a fairly popular current events driven bog that I've often thought the polls would work well on.

Well this is whole new thing for a newbie like me ... will you please tell us in more details because we do not know even short words which you have used above.

Just wondering, in general are poll based promotions working well for people?

    Much love,
    Dave.

Did you try one keyword per adgroup? or does SPeedPPC automagically do that?

for polls don't worry about the search network, stay on content.
and on the content network CTR doesn't matter only ROI. as long as you're making more than you're spending on the content network you're fine.

I actually teach this as one of the two options in the first month on PPC Coach.

    They still work.

Mike, don't forget what you are doing with these polls is not a long term deal. You need to keep making more because your "hot story" will fade out.

      Hello all,

I don't post too often but wanted to let you all know that I grossed around 51K in 4 months for a profit of just over 20K all using the poll technique. I knew absolutely nothing in IM let alone ppc. No kidding!

I am a student of PPC-Coach and will let you know that it works. I would never advise anyone to do something that I wouldn't do myself. I am very cautious as to buying courses or paying anyone to learn but this one technique has WORKED for me!

Just to let you know, my screenname is George777 on PPC-Coach and many there will vouch for me and you can even see screenshots of my earnings for 2 months in the success forums.

If anyone is interested in learning this technique, need some advice along the way, and will join PPC-Coach via my affiliate link, PM me. I have even done some videos on how to get you up and running if you need to visually see it.

If not, that's fine too. Either way, yes this method is nice!

      To your success,
      George

George is right. This was my first method to making money on the internet besides selling ad space on PR5 website. If i knew better i would have asked for more. ANYWAY, ppc-coach is a great place to start learning for sure, whether it's polls or any other niche.

    Thanks Mike,
While doing PPC, any keywords specific you should research about it?

Specifics? Well there are examples on the internet that say take an offer like 'Win a free ps3' or something. Then make a poll page that says, 'What's your favorite video game? Vote and win a PS3' Have 2 choices A.... and B.... make them go to your offer page. Check traffic, conversions, etc.

Or you can make them more topical, like saying, 'Should McCain have become president? Vote and win an iphone' A. Yes B. Hell no -> redirect to offer.

I would go one step further and pick a bunch of offers [ps3, wii, iphone] then have the 'win a ____', in the title, be filled with whatever that offer is, then check conversions on those also. Simple. just make sure you have some good tools to test them.

If you're making SOME money, I can help you increase that maybe. PM me if you need help

A poll is just a question with more than one answer.

The answers should be clickable, and you can, for aff. marketing stuff, simply forward them to the offer, or if you want to beat around the bush, give them the poll results and then ask them to head over to your offer, or display it inline.

Enjoyed reading this, but am not familiar with polling either unless you are referring to a "poll" on your website for people to interact on a blog?
