Feeling defeated by CPA

I'm starting to get a little discouraged about my venture into promoting CPA offers. I've been promoting an offer for the last couple days via FB ads. My landing page looks great (in my opinion but I'm biased because I am a Wordpress designer). I'm getting clicks to my landing page (according to FB) but no one is clicking through to my offer (no clicks according to MaxBounty).

My offer is good - it's a short one-page submit. The payout is $2.00 and the EPC is $0.22.

My landing page looks professional and is 100% mobile responsive. My FB are very targeted so it's hard to believe that no one would even click through to the CPA offer.

Am I missing something?

How much traffic have you sent to your landing page?
How many days has it run??

Sometimes the nice looking landing pages convert worse than the ugly ones.. just a little tip

  • How long does it take to determine whether an offer is a winner or a loser? How much should I be investing in a FB ads campaign before I decide to keep it or scrap it?

In my case, I've spent $37 on 46 clicks.....like I said earlier, after these people made it to my landing page, NO ONE clicked through to my offer.

I don't mind spending money to make money but I'd like to see some good results (a few people clicking through to offer).

Here is a screenshot of my landing page....

  • The only thing I can figure is that my landing page is too long and elaborate....does it have too much info on it? Should it be short and sweet?

U need to have 4-5 ads to find out if 1 ad has better click through rate. If the ad has higher click through rate, the cost per click will come down. Once they arrive from ad to landing page, u want to test with at least 3-5 landing pages to pick the winner if one gets better conversion than other. There is lot of thing involved when it comes to conversion, no one in this forum can help u just by looking at a landing page. Like chris said, " landing page does not need look pretty, they need to convey right message for the reader to take action".

You are paying $0.80 per click for an offer that only pays $2.00. You will have to convert at at incredible rate of 1 in 3 in order to be profitable. You have to get the cost per click well down if you are to have any chance. Personally, I would call this campaign off. However, I have never had any conversions through Facebook after spending a few hundred dollars.

    Hi
First off I like your page
You are in a similar position to myself
I am promoting CPA offers by sending ppc traffic to a Landing page

I first sent traffic to my home page with a large CTA got 1% CTR
Then sent traffic to a special page on my site and got a 10% CTR

I have now created a landing page with a sales letter and while its early days I am getting around 20% CTR
I have designed a new page today which I will test later next week
I want to get around 40% CTR from my traffic. I want to learn how to get good CTR from landing page and how to pre sale offers

My current page is really basic
It is an old fashioned look with a fixed width, its not responsive but at the moment am only sending desktop traffic to it.

I would advice you to split test landing pages.
Also are all those linking direct to your CPA offer is there any other distractions on your site to stop people going to the offer

Also I am sure you know this but you are paying way to much for traffic
You would need to get a near 90% conversion rate in order to break even

I havent done advertising on FB but you may want to read up on it and reduce your CPC.
One idea is to send traffic to a separate FB page that promotes your product/cpa
But as I said I haven't done FB advertising

Your landing page is good, but I think the "Find Out More" button doesn't stand out, especially because it's a very similar color to the folder the guy is holding.

As said above, I would recommend not continuing with this campaign because your CPC is far too high. By optimizing you could reduce the CPC, but unlikely enough to make a profit.

You could improve your landing page then promote it in FB Groups related to your niche. This way, the traffic will be free. People find that soft selling in FB Groups works better because you are providing value and letting people know you have something that can benefit them.

do not worry chantal many of us are like you including me . One thing for sure is that when you go by these numbers and what many other experienced marketers have told here is you are simply promoting a wrong offer .Before promoting a offer you should analysis the niche keywords and their average cpc .You can use tools like google keyword planner and bing keyword planner . that will give you a good estimate of whether you will be able to make profit or not from the offer.

Can u make them give their e-mail address? If u can, capture e-mail and then send follow up e-mails to build authority and trust. And then promote your offer in between. But capturing e-mail and then directing them to offer page works too. Don't take my words for it but test it. U want to test if the offer works direct linking or building landing pages or sending follow up e-mails, these are all right way to test offer conversion and u want to test them all. If u are a newbie u might think this sounds lot of work, I am not sure if this gonna work, what if I lose my money and come up with zero dollars. U want to clear up all these doubts and move forward after u'll have a lot confidence what works and what doesn't . Take all of these as learning process and getting valuable skill. Even if u lost $5000 by promoting offers but finally got 1 conversion, this is your aha moment and now you can create a wso about this offer, most likely u'll recoup all your testing budget by selling wso and helping other newbies who will be wanting to learn promoting cpa offers on facebook.

    Hi,

The reason why no one is clicking on your offer is, that you are not sending the right people to your landing page.

And moreover, you are spending too much for each click. For CPA offers, you should spend double the payout which means $4 in your case, and if you don't see a lead after spending that amount, then you should stop spending and try a different angle.

    In your case,

lower your CPC and send more clicks to your landing page and see if you can get some clicks to your offer.

  • I ended up pausing the campaign....and now I feel like a total idiot! What was I thinking? setting up a FB campaign for a $2 payout? I should have known better....

And to make matters worse, I spent another $15 or so yesterday running this campaign. I read a lot about landing pages, headlines, etc and revamped the landing page with better copy. I got one conversion! It cost me about $60 to get a $2 payout.

The worse thing about this is that it started giving me hope....I was tempted to keep the campaign going. I figured that if I split test the FB ad copy, images and landing pages, maybe I could make this work. Luckily I snapped out of it and paused it....

I'm not a newbie in IM and have been around for a while but yet somehow, I fell victim to the "shiny new object" syndrome.

I bought a WSO that promised to deliver a method to make money with CPA offers. I guess I just assumed that promoting different CPA offers could be a business in itself but it just boils down to getting traffic - this is KEY.

For those of you who are promoting CPA offers, do you promote offers in different niches or do you just stick to one niche? Do you have an "authority site"? Do you buy traffic?

How how much traffic did you send to the offer what was your click through rate on the landing page and did you increase your CTR.

I am sending traffic with Bing to a landing page CTR is about 15 percent this morning. I will b testing another landing page tomorrow and want to increase my CTR to 25% however I need a 15% conversion rate for the offer to be worthwhile

I have not had luck promoting CPA offers except through Adwords and Bing. I got a -100% ROI with Facebook and -80% ROI with PPV using 50onRed.

There are two paid forums you can take a look that specialize in CPA: Affiliate Playbook and Stack that Money. APB is more into PPC and PPV whereas STM into Facebook and Mobile traffic.

Did you direct link with PPV (50on red)? OR Send pop-up to landing page. A PPV expert told me a presell page works best.

      Hey there,

I think you should be narrowing your target audience and first try to focus on getting cheaper clicks. The moce CTR you have the cheaper the clicks will be. So let that be your first focus now!

Also if I were you I would stat by signing up to some CPA networks (will list some below that I know will pay you) and get like 10 similar email submit offers, then start split testing them on your traffic to see which converts the best. There are some offers that simply don't convert, so you shouldn't be spending a lot on those. With this method you can eliminate the bad ones and you'll have 1 or 2 winners usually.

Some CPA networks I work with and paid me so far:

      World Leads (http://worldleads.com)
      Peerfly (http://peerfly.com)
      ClickDealer (ClickDealer)
      ClickBooth (http://clickbooth.com)

If you need any more help let me know I can help you out!

ChantalVanderlaan - you can split test headlines to see if it makes a difference. Here's a free tool that creates 14 killer headlines in less than a minute. I use this tool to get the 'juices' going.

      Best of luck!
