Adsense code for https site

I relaunched my site after a complete overhaul. The domain name is exactly the same as before. However, since re-launching it as an online store and going from basic content provider to an actual product provider, I instituted more safety measures, i.e. the SSL certificate which means the site is no longer http based but is https based. See my homepage where I will re-paste my old Adsense code into the "Sponsored Content" section. Here are my questions:

#1. Is it better to create a new code for this? Synchronous?

#2. Should the new https URL be added into my Adsense account for tracking?

Thank you!

  • For Google Webmasters you have to apply for https separately than http. However, you also have to do the same for www vs without www. In my Google Analytic account I didn't have to do that. I would guess adwords is the same and you don't have to add https separately.

For pasting the code, just make sure http:// doesn't exist or is replaced with https:// and you should be fine.

Sorry I couldn't give an absolute answer. Hopefully my opinion helps or someone else gives you an absolute answer.
