Terrible CTR via DigitalPoint

Hi guys,

Thought i run an ad campaign via the DigitalPoint forums as i had a spare $50 in the account but not seeing any results and not sure why.

The first two days i targetted certain forum categories hence the low impressions, the day with over 1000 impressions was the entire forum.

Maybe someone could shed some light on this? For now, I have disabled the campaign.

EDIT: My keywords are, "themes, wordpress, wordpress themes".

Thankyou
Matt

I really do not know much about advertising on digitalpoint.

Was it a banner ad or text ad?

If it was a text ad, probably your copy was not compelling enough

If it was banner. may be the same problem.

I also found out that banner ad size matters.

If the banner is the small size banners of 125 x 125, I find out they have extremely dismall ctr for me.

I am however shocked by the very low cost of advertising. That may however be a red flag. May be that low because of low CTR hence few takers

I don't have much experience with advertising on dp, but it looks like your targeting very generic keywords.

I burned $100 there using a tested banner. I got 43 clicks but no conversion. At first I thought the traffic was from 3rd world countries but I check clickmagic and over 90% was from US. Of course 43 is not much to make a conclusion, but I lost interest to continue.

I'm using both inline ads and banner ads, Four banner sizes are available. So far no data available for the inline ads, plenty of impressions but no clicks for the banners.

I recently found out you can only target keywords if you use an inline ad. Banner ads this isn't available, a bit of a shame really.

The statistics show. I hope DP make an update, the traffic looks genuine but in my opinion, the design needs a makeover and better ad placement. The only ad i see on the site is a tacky play cookie jam gif. According to Alexa 37% of the traffic is coming from india.
