Are affiliate accounts getting banned by Google?

I have been hearing a lot of fuss thesedays about Google outright banning Affiliates. They are closing accounts left and right and do not allow accounts to be re-opened with a new cc or email add.

I have not yet faced this situation - but wanted to get feedback if others are hearing similar complaints about Google.

  • Most of the recent Adwords bans were affiliates selling get rich quick rebill offer scams that had Google in the name - like Google Money Tree and others.

Apart from rebills and business opp scams, I see normal niche affs also getting banned - specially new ones. Just want to check if this is the consensus out there.

I recently got banned from Google Adwords - all my accounts. I was promoting Clickbank offers and they didn't like the ones that taught about how to make money with Google.

The upsetting thing about the suspension was that they introduced a new policy six weeks ago but didn't tell anyone about it... they just started banning accounts.

I called them many times to discuss it, letting them know I was happy to delete those ads and not promote such products anymore (they only constituted 10% of my revenue) but Google didn't care at all.

Two years of Adwords campaign-building gone just like that!

Anyway, you have to look on the bright side of things... there's so many other ways to make money online!

The exact same thing happened to me except I wasn't even currently promoting anything with the google name at the time.

They told me that is was because I did a promotion for "Google Cash Detective" back in March/April

I argued that google Cash Detective was not a scammy rebill offer and a legitimate competitive intelligence piece of software, which I myself own and use regularly but they didn't care.

Bottom line if you promote anything that has their name in it and it's related to making money online. scam or not, it's over.

I use adwords only for my sites as of now.

But I was wondering what other relatively easier
traffic generation methods (without so many rules
    and regulations) are available

...especially for promoting affiliate and cpa
    offers.

Adwords is great and horrible. Its great when you find something that works because of the scale. Its horrible because any moment they can pull the plug on your campaign or worse yet, your account which you may have been building solid history for.

Its part of the business though. Deal with it leave

Here's a tip... Don't promote anything that mentions anything about Google. If someone started selling something that was in all probability a crap product and attached your name to it, and then had the gall to attempt to advertise it using a sign in your front yard or on your car, even though they were paying you, would you be happy about it?

I think you may have a winner. Run with it.

The number of people promoting these products is very likely a
small percentage of total advertisers/affiliates. How many billions
per year does google make from adwords. I think I know, in any case
it's fairly obscene. lol. So banning these advertisers probably won't
make a pixel bump on their charts.

But you know what? There are hundreds of products to promote and
ways to make money online. Don't sweat it for one second. Forget it
      and move forward.

      Regards.

Has anyone noticed that Google seems to be getting REALLY picky about what they consider keyword relevance too, or is it just me?
