Very general question.

Hi All,

Have a network of websites, delivering some 250k unique visitors a day in the U.S. all organic longtail terms. Very unfocused.
At the moment, using this for a specific client.
Wanted to move on, thought about joining several networks and start playing with campaigns.
Dont have much experience in U.S aff networks but I believe i arrived to the right place to ask for some suggestions from the experts.

Of course, any other idea to monetize the traffic will be also highly welcome

Thanks !
Moshe

    Hello,

A good idea is to Never put all your eggs in one basket.
There are many ways to monetize your traffic besides banners.
Of course I do not know what you are using at the moment. You should consider adding native widgets and choose the campaigns based on your users interests. If you have general interests websites like News or Magazinos you can test all categories and keep the ones that have the highest performance.
Another idea is to try to promote affiliate products on CPA. With the right traffic these type of campaigns can be a lot more profitable than CPC or CPM.
Also another suggestion, do you have Social Media pages? If you have many followers you can also monetize that traffic. SM traffic works very well for our publishers

The Amazon Affiliate program can be pretty profitable, dependent upon the niche of your site or WP. Commission Junction, ShareASale, and Clickbank are also really popular and most importantly possess a strong reputation for paying on time and offering a broad range of niche-compatible affiliate-linking and opportunities. Have you considered selling ad space yet? Google has a pretty solid PPC advertising program too, Adsense. I don't know what kind of product you have, but could you make an eBook relevant to your product or niche? Building an email-list and campaigning that way with discounts, special offers, and interesting materials about your products or niche can also be profitable. Good luck

I would suggest checking out different networks to see what offers and payouts they have and also how responsive the Account Manager is in helping you.

The best thing you can do is apply to a CPA network. They have the best payouts if you compare it to places like adsense and ad networks. Plus, you can normally work with your affiliate manager to optimize your campaigns and make the most out of your investment.

    Hi Moshe

I would suggest to try and monetise your visitors via a few CPL products that pay per lead as opposed to per sale. If your visitors are very unfocused, look, for mainstream products in fitness, finance, real estate and maybe dating as well. These tend to pay the highest and I would stay away from the small zip submits that only pay like $1 a pop. Look for products that pay at least $20 to maximise the ROI on your visitors.

Then it's literally just a matter of testing which offers work best with your traffic and which ones yield the most ROI overall.

    Hope that helps

Without knowing more about the niche and site it's hard to give recommendations. Cpaoffers are a good place to start. I'd recommend applying to some networks and show your am your site and see what types of offers they recommend

As others are saying . . . try a bunch of different things and see what works best.

AdSense is obviously one of the easiest and quickest to set up. Then there's CPA networks, and affiliate products, including ClickBank, JVZoo (which is good because if you're approved by the seller, you get payouts instantly, so up-scaling can be very much quicker) etc.

My advise on CPA would be to ignore the payout, and focus on EPC. I don't think it matters to you whether you convert at 1% to a $100 payout, or 10% to a $10 payout, because the money is the SAME either way. But the EPC includes both the payout AND the conversion-rates, which I think is a lot more relevant.

I'd also recommend products or services with a recurring payment, as, obviously enough, that's a better deal long-term.

    Anyway, that's just some ideas.

I have a Guide on CPA, affiliate products, etc. with lots more ideas like this, and some specific methods, which I can give you for free if you like, just PM me.

    Chris
