In regards to building a list, most people drive traffic to a page that offers the visitor something in exchange for signing up to their list (such as free ebook)

As CrisBa said, traffic can be driven from list and you can build a list easily by offering free ebooks to reader.

If you don't your own PDF book, some authors allow share their books for free so you can their books for list building.

Native advertising works best for health and beauty products. Write articles related to the product you are selling and mention your product in the body of the article. Include 1 or 2 affiliate links discreetly. Try to mask your links if possible, you can even use a free plugin like 'pretty links' is you're using wordpress.

Once you have your article, make sure you add a catchy title. Promote the article on Facebook to a very targeted group of at least 1 million people. Watch your stats for a couple of days. See if people are clicking through to your article and sharing and commenting.

You'll know you found a winner when the article turns into sales.

    hope this helps

List-building is very likely to be more profitable in the long-term, so make sure you direct traffic to a good squeeze-page (have a look at advice on creating a high-converting squeeze-page).

Other than that, different types of promotions will have different results for different individual offers . . . any "this is the best" type answer is false, because the REAL answer is "it depends".

It also depends on specific strategies . . . for example, some ways of using FaceBook might not give you any sales at all, but other ways might work really well.

A general note . . . I've come across several people saying that they've got better results by writing a good, fact-based comparison of 3 similar products, stating a clear winner and the reasons for that choice, than sending traffic to just one offer.

So test that, and other strategies, and see which works best for each individual offer, learn, improve, test some more, etc. That's really the biggest factor . . . people who don't really understand how marketing works are generally looking for one "right answer", then they try that, fail and quit. Where as experts know that even with all their experience, they do NOT know which promotion will work best for the next offer, they make some educated guesses, and test the results . . . all of them might lose money at this stage, but then they take the ones which perform better than others, test further improvements (changing one word can sometimes double, or halve, conversions), and eventually find a combination of factors that makes a profit, then up-scale rapidly.

Another factor that most newbies don't think clearly enough to understand with testing, is that random events are much more clustered than most people imagine, so a good rule of thumb is that, to do a genuine test (for payed-traffic) for an offer requires spending 4 times as much on the promotion, as the offer is worth, for EACH test . . . i.e. you change one word and you need to do another complete test. Anything less than that and the results could be very misleading.

Hope that gives you some pointers.

    Chris

The most profitable thing is to build a list by offering a free gift , and then using that list to remarket the CPA offers to. After the free gift it should redirect the users to the offer where you can still cash in on the people ready to buy.

As it was mentioned before, the best way to start building an email list is by offering free things on your website (an ebook, a discount coupon, stuff like that), another way could be to use a Facebook page to make users use their login information on your website, and get their emails through an API.

However, I think that before doing this, you should ask yourself if this is really going to be the marketing method that will work for you and specially for your targeted audience, email marketing is not necessarily the most useful tool for all audiences, you should conduct a research on that before making a decision.
