FB Ads vs TW Ads for our online radio

Hello again!

I presented the findings of my first round of questions to my partner, and I have to say, we were very pleased.

The freelance blogger we hired is doing an impressive job. We publish and share on FB/TW one post per week. That is enough for now. We still haven't decided, do we really need a LinkedIn account? We need to check with our competitors. Honestly, we don't have a clue what to post on LN. This social media looks too serious for our online radio.

Either way, the idea for a YouTube channel was an excellent one. We recorded a couple of interviews with some of the DJs we could get in contact with. These would be published on our YouTube channel at the beginning of the next month.

Now, both my partner and I agree that we need to invest in order to reach more listeners. We have a potential advertiser or two, but with these poor statistics at the moment we don't dare to propose anything direct.

So, my partner is pro-Twitter ads. I believe that Facebook ads would help us reach the fans who still love and listen to disco classics. We are still fighting with some technical and streaming problems. So, I really haven't had time to check are there any groups on FB of disco classic fans. I'm deeply skeptical about Twitter ads effectiveness. However, I want to have some proper arguments to present to my partner. The easiest thing would be to say, let's do it both. Honestly, we don't have a clue how much is going to cost us. If it is affordable, we will pay for FB, TW, and even LN, if necessary. Yet, my experience taught me that these things don't come cheap. Also, we don't have time nor money for experiments. Let's try TW ads first, then if it doesn't work, let's give FB ads a try. We don't expect spectacular results, but we want to get something valuable for our money in return.

Again your time and advice are appreciated. We also understand that the easiest thing would be just to provide a link to our radio. However, this is something my partner doesn't support at the moment. I also support his decision. There is still some work to do. A few plugins to fix and proper images to be found for our blogs.

Regards,
LoveRadio Team

FB Hands Down. Their targeting is second to none and the amount of trafffic available is endless. Twitter will eventually go the way of the dinosaur...

I will have to find a nice way to present this answer to my partner, lol. He's currently dealing with the technical issues, but he can be surprisingly reasonable when confronted with the right arguments, such as this one. Thank you.

IMO Facebook is much more powerful than Twitter.

This is going to be a surprise for my partner, who mostly deal with the technical stuff about our radio, but I will show that the overwhelming majority of people give a strong advantage of FB over TW in terms of advertising. At least for the online radio promotion purposes.

Instagram sounds like an interesting idea, but honestly I don't have an idea how to associate this social network with our radio. Yet, for what is worth, we did some really nice pictures for our upcoming programs and guest DJs. Maybe we can share them on Instagram and hear what our listeners have to say about them. Thank you for your advice.

what i was getting at if you go to for example https://www.facebook.com/ads/manager/account/campaigns/

this si where you would pay to advertise on facebook, it is also the same dashboard to advertise on Instagram.

I find some of the best things to do is a video instead of image, people seem to interact with it more..

i ran an online radio station for over 5 years, i understand how hard it can be

I keep hearing that the video has a great conversion power and understand it completely. On the other hand, I still believe in the power of the good quality sound. That's why I'm still in this business with my partner. Yet, we need to figure out some strategy for 2017 to keep us going, otherwise we will be classics just the one you can hear on our radio, lol.
