Affiliate Network - Performance Tracking

As a general best practice, do all of the major affiliate networks track conversions, clicks, etc. by using unique IP addresses? Specifically, I'm talking about CPL affiliate programs.I imagine that they do in effort to reduce spam and fake leads.

Anyone have any insight on this? .

Well not always. If you're sending leads via mobile, several people could use the same IP because of the cell tower.

This "used to be" an effective way to filter out fraud, but now networks have to look at a lot more data points to ensure you're sending good quality leads.

Now, I'm sure if you come on any of the popular networks (using Cake, Has Offers, etc.) and send a ton of leads using the same IP it's going to look fishy AF.

    Good luck!

This reply is coming from a network which has a exclusive campaigns and works with many affiliate networks. Fraud is usually filtered by us (the advertiser) and besides using a fraud detection system we have a whole team analyzing the results. I do not thing that affiliate networks have a strong fraud detection system, this is coming from Advertisers

Affiliate networks do a decent job of tracking sales. If you are going to stay in the game long term you will need a tracking service to track your entire funnel. That tracking service can tell you where most of your traffic is coming from, what tier (tier-1, tier-2 etc),
There are several services available. Do your research to see which one works best for you.
    I just clickmagick.com
There is clickperfect.com and tons of other sites also.
Pick the one that best fits your business.

    What specifically are you asking?

Networks have fraud prevention methods in place, but they will likely not discuss it with anyone.

Advertisers use IP address to prevent frauds and also works on cookie to check whether the user is new or repetitive, which make more solid to prevent frauds
