Facebook tracking pixel

Hopefully someone can share their advice here. I know this has been written elsewhere, but I haven't found the answer to my specific question about contradicting advice.

Regarding the Facebook tracking pixel, I got the base code on all my pages. However, I'm confused about adding the standard event code to my confirmation pages.

Facebook gives 2 sets of instructions on this that contradict each other.

One set of instructions says to place the code within the base code that's within the <head> section. Another set of instructions says to NOT put the code in the base code, but instead, place it right at the beginning of the <body> tag, within it's own <script></script> tags.

Then, there are customer conversions, which is a whole other layer of conversions.

Right now I just want to track leads, people that sign up to my list, so I wanna know where to put the code to do this, but I wanna know everything I can about this code, so I can use it in the future for other tracking.

    For every conversion pixel you should place it after the end of body tag </body>
    Reson behind this is that conversion pixel will only get triggered once your page get loaded completly if you will place it in head section the code will get called on just loading of the page, the complete conversion pixel in which you are sending the order IDS, price and product details so you should place it after your body tag on the thank you or success page.
