I work for a digital agency that serves automotive dealer clients, and I've been noticing a weird increase in CPC for website traffic ads with automatic bidding.
In the past 2-3 weeks alone, I've seen campaigns that normally run at $0.30 - $0.40 CPC (which is what I've seen as a typical industry standard for automotive using behavioral and geolocation targeting) increase to upwards of $0.80 - $1.20 CPC...
Has anyone noticed this trend? Do you think it has anything to do with the Ad Load?
I've seen CPC spikes over time during the holidays, election season, etc, but nothing this extreme.
I am getting worried, especially since many of our clients run at or near the $5 minimum daily spend per campaign and are getting far fewer clicks for their money now.
