Top items to consider when purchasing an affiliate business
I'm considering purchasing an Amazon affiliate business. I already own a few other companies in the SaaS space, and I want to diversify my income stream.
I've never been involved in the affiliate business before. This particular business is in a nice niche; it has been in existence for about 9 months, and is currently generating about $2k per month from Amazon. I have looked at the site, and the content is of very high quality, mostly written by the seller. Most of the content is "top 10 of item x" type posts. If I purchased the business, I would outsource the content creation where appropriate.
However, I have never owned an affiliate business before - I can analyse SaaS businesses pretty well; not so much affiliate businesses. If you were purchasing an affiliate business, what top 3 things would you analyse, and how would you consider if the site is worthwhile or not?
Are there any major "gotcha's" that I should consider before going ahead?
