Was my FB ad campaign worth it?

For those who are proficient in FB ads I need your help. I ran an ad for my church that was up for about three weeks on a $10 daily budget promoting an event. As I look at my stats for he overall campaign I'm not sure if I did well or poor in terms of managing the campaign.

Can anyone take a look at my stats and give me an assessment?

It's a really small budget, did you have any way to track the success (such as asking everyone who attended the event where they found out about it)?

As far as we know we didn't get anybody to come as a result of the ad. But then again it wasn't very easy to track due to the nature of our objective..

The only "results" we saw were what the campaign itself considered results which in this case would be more like brand awareness I guess. With the number of people that saw the ad and positive feedback that we got online we had hoped to see a few people come as a result, but we didn't see it.

I hope the traffic was local at the very least.

Regardless of the ad platform, do something simple for tracking, like have traffic grab an online coupon, ticket, image, etc... with their phone. That way you can track your online conversions with 100% certainty at the event door. You could even have multiple tracking for different ad campaigns (ex: Facebook, Twitter, Newspapers, Magazines, Flyers, etc...).

This way you can narrow down where the majority or best conversions are originating.

  • It almost makes it impossible to tell if your ad worked or not if you have no way of tracking the campaign. At this point you are only going off of last years results, assuming this isn't the first year you did it.

All you can tell is if people clicked on the ad.

If its the first ad you've run this way, consider it a good learning experience and you will improve on the next one.

A good start will be to share your results here. Do it and I'm sure a lot of members can help.
I'll try to help by asking some questions:

1- What was the campaign objective?
2- Did you integrate your pixel with the landing page?
3- How many days you've been running this campaing?
4-What tools did you use to figure what audience to target?
5- Did you have any initial test on the audience you've been promoting your event to?

Let me know about these questions and I'm here if you need help.

    Cheers

      1. The campaign objective according to the platform we were using (FB) was to get people to a landing page that told people about our church and event, but what we really wanted was people to come to the event.

      2. I'm not sure I fully understand "pixel" just yet.

      3. The campaign was running for about 3 weeks.

      4. We didn't use any tools. We just took a stab at an "audience" we thought would be interested in attending the event.

      5. We did a smaller campaign for the sam event a week before starting the campaign we are discussing, and the results (according to FB) seemed to be good; however, this was very new to us so I don't think we knew what to expect.

There should be a link a screenshot of the stats below. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Buddy,
I've seen your thread and say that $10 is very small budget to judge performance of your even campaign. I'm not sure with facebook which targeting criteria you have used. But, Can you check with analytic report how the performance is going on.

You're ads should have a way track conversions of your campaigns.

    Just getting clicks isn't enough.

You should place a pixel on a landing that tracks conversions.

Until that's resolved it'll be difficult to determine your ad performance.
