Why do these affiliate network do this?

Affiliate networks like Maxbounty for example.

I've been in online marketing for years but I never really understood this.

Why do networks like Maxbounty make it seems like they are ¨ super exclusive¨ and ask for a phone interview etc etc?

With clickbank you can just get your affiliate link and boom you can promote.

Are they doing this for the psychological effect it has on people? ¨ YES they accepted me! I better make this work now¨ ?? People bragging to others they got accepted and ¨ it was hard ¨ etc?

Why are they doing this? I'm seriously confused here.

Posture. They value their offering, hence, the premium experience. People who vibe with the offering take their route and they succeed. Different strokes for different.....networks.

Well they won't make money with me.

I have to do an interview with them...Sorry?

I'm the one that should interview them to know if they pay on time etc.

Why would I have to qualify myself to them when I'm the one with the traffic?

It's nothing personal against you. It's like a lot of things online, the scammers and spammers and other assorted low-lives determine what legit, honest people are subjected to.

CPA is seen as a low barrier to fraud by many. They want to determine if you are legit because their advertisers depend on them for quality "actions."

CB is one of the only networks that do not require vendor approval.

          Yeah they just called me.

¨Have you ever done affiliate marketing before?¨

          ¨Yeah¨

          ¨ Ok I just approved your account¨.

Just seems like a waste of time to be honest lol.

I see a lot of offers inside that I could do on my own. For example Fiverr afilliate program...I can just go on Fiverr and become an affiliate with them directly.

I'm totally lost in what's the point of these networks.

There are a lot of fraudulent publishers and they are just trying to identify any potential ones. They also want to know if you would be a good fit, etc...

Nothing to take personally. It's your option to not apply if you don't want to do it.

I've been promoting CPA offers ever since networks existed. An interview is pretty standard and simple. There are networks that you can't even get an interview unless an existing publisher knows/refers you.
