Do many networks require the affiliate to request payment?

According to what I've read, some networks require the affiliate to request payment in order to be paid. Is that a common practice? Obviously, less than ethical networks can use this to avoid or delay making payments by pretending that they never received the requests. And I have seen reports that suggest that this unsavory practice is actively being used.

    As far as I know this is not necessary to be the case. Most CPA networks I have worked with just have a minimum payout that you need to reach before getting paid.

    For ex:
    You need to reach $100 to get paid and payouts goes out 15th of the next month.
    So your generated leads for May will be paid in 15th of June as long as you have reached the minimum payout required.

    Some networks allow you to set this details in your profile, How often you like to get paid and payment option.

    Very few affiliate networks do this practice. I believe it is fine. because now a days hacking and closing is common. So each time publisher ask payment [send invoice] its safe correct person receive payment.

    I have a system which allows affiliates to WITHDRAW their commissions from the system anytime they like. With such system you can, for example, establish a minimum amount to be in the affiliate account before it can withdraw its balance.

    It's almost like and as good as instant, only it is much less dangerous nowadays to get banned by paypal. One can withdraw amounts here and there, on a pace over several days, without triggering the payment processor's panic flag, especially if it has a big list and makes many sales in a day during a campaign.

    This is becoming a trendy usage, and, well, it makes much more sense.

    I've never worked with any network that requires you to ask for a payout, nor would I.

    I have not heard of networks requiring you to request a payment. It's common to have a minimum threshold before payment is given though.

    Most Networks do send the money on the payday. I have never come across those that require marketers to place a request for payment. But we cannot rule out their existence maybe we have never worked for them..
