This free email submit method will make you at least $100 per day

I thought I would throw out a freebie campaign for people struggling to get started. This one is actually really simple and it's easy to get tons of cheap clicks. Now as you know this is for an email submit offer, actually the "win a free walmart gift card" that is available on several networks.

Now before we go into the details of the campaign I want to mention a couple of things about running email submit campaigns. The first is that yes email submit campaigns scrub, and if you're not careful they can scrub very hard. There are 2 main reasons why they need to scrub the leads, the first is that email submits are very vulnerable to fraud. Take a quick glance at any black-hat CPA e-book/method and you'll see that it usually involves tricking people into filling out an email submit. The second reason they are scrubbed so hard is because an email alone is only worth so much, especially one that's coming from a person who is looking to get something for free.

So how can you avoid getting scrubbed on an email submit? Easily:

1) Rotate networks - These days advertisers have modified their back end tracking so they can pinpoint which affiliates on which networks are producing quality leads and which ones are producing bad leads. Normally they'll throttle/scrub leads based on the affiliate id level but if an advertiser notices a large amount of bad leads coming from a certain network they'll start scrubbing that entire network as well. This is why some people experience such wild swings in conversion rates when they split test 2 different networks. The solution here is to signup with as many networks that carry the offer and rotate all the URL's into prosper202. Find the network with the highest conversion rates, use it, monitor it, and if the conversion rate falls off switch the link to another network.

2) Target the older users - Email submit advertisers are dealing with millions of leads per month so by now they've gathered enough statistical data to know what works and what doesn't and no matter how affluent your traffic sources are the story is always the same: younger users don't convert. Sure they'll signup to win a free plasma TV but when it comes time convert on the advertisers back end they are nowhere to be found. Send an advertiser too many people under the age of 30 and your affiliate ID will be on the scrub list for a few months until you get your traffic in line.

So as long as you rotate networks and target older users you won't have any problems with getting scrubbed on an email campaign. Now that we got through that, let's get to the actual campaign.

The offer is for the "win a free walmart gift card" which can be found on various networks. The current networks I'm using are maxbounty, neverblue, tatto media, and amped media. It's a very popular offer that many networks are carrying so you should have no trouble finding it on a network your a part of.

My favorite thing about this offer is that it's so flexible, everybody knows what walmart is and about the products they carry (just about everything). Since it's so versatile you can target your keywords and landing pages to just about anything from food and groceries to gardening supplies and rat poison so the potential is limitless.

Now keep in mind that we will not be running this offer on google search, only on the content network. If you run such a low payout offer like this on the search network you're just wasting your time and money.

So the first step is to pick a category to target your keywords and landing page to, now I'm not going to give away my keywords because that will just kill the campaign when 200 people copy it but you should have no problem coming up with ideas since walmart sells just about everything. Step into your kitchen or garage for 5 minutes and I bet you’ll be able to walk away with 20 different categories to use.

For the sake of demonstration I'm going to use the "shoes" category, the first step is to go to the adwords keyword tool which is available here:

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Now you'll want to take the top 10 keywords (broad) which in this case would be:

Save these keywords in their own .txt file, these keywords will be your "root keywords". Now you'll want to download a program called google suggestor:

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?lnjrnd2nzjz

What this program does is scrape all the suggested search queries that google provides you when you do a search, for example when you search for "shoes" google gives you this:

Using the program is easy, just enter your first root keyword which in this case would be "shoes" and then hit suggest a few times until it stops giving you results:

Once you're done you'll have a nice list of actively used keywords:

When you’re done you’ll want to save each group of extracted keywords into their own text file because each group will go in it’s own ad group later on when we build the campaigns. Repeat the process with your remaining keywords until your finished with all 10 root keywords.

Now your ready for the landing page which is probably the easiest part thanks to dynamic keyword insertion. In case you don't know what that is here is a good article explaining how it works and the benefits:

Google AdWords Dynamic Keyword Insertion | SEO Book.com

By using dynamic keyword insertion you can create a single landing page and then in adwords simply add ?kw={keyword} which will not only give you a good quality score (higher ad position, lower CPC) but give your visitors a relevant page as well which has been proven to increase your landing page's CTR.

Here is what the landing page would look like:

You can see that our keyword, which in this case would be "warriorforum" is located throughout the page which will help google score the page as relevant which will in turn give us a good quality score.

You can download the landing page seen above here:

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ktajy540ktm

You will want to edit the landing page, if adwords see so many people using the same landing pages they will probably slap all the campaigns.

Now we're ready to move onto actually creating the campaign in adwords. When you create the campaign you'll want to make sure you target the right country, in the case of this offer it's only good for US residents so we'll stick with just the US:

Now this next part is important because if done incorrectly it can cost you a lot of money. As I stated earlier in this guide you will want to only advertise on the google content network and NOT the search network or through search partners. I know the content network has a bad reputation and many gurus say to avoid it but in the past year google has done a really good job of cleaning it up and kicking out all the MFA/adsense spam sites out.

Today the content network makes up a majority of my income earned through adwords and if you asked any major PPC spender they would probably tell you the same thing. Don't get the wrong idea, you can run this campaign on the search network but only after you've split tested ad copies, network scrub rates, the landing pages, and have figured out which keywords are making you money and which ones aren't.

When you're setting up your campaign you'll want to make sure that you choose to display the ads only on the content network and on desktops and laptops only. iPhones and other mobile devices should be unchecked because these will only waste you money:

The next section, Bidding and Budget is pretty easy. For the daily budget I recommend that you use $10. I'll talk about our bids in a little but but we will be paying an average of $0.10 per click so 100 clicks is more than enough to decide if certain category or group of keywords will convert.

Under the advanced options you will want to choose to have your ads displayed in an accelerated manner. This will allow you to gather data and find the winning and losing campaigns much faster.

Under advanced settings you can leave everything as it is, some people like to display their ads during certain times of the day but I have yet to see any proof that ads convert better during certain hours or days so I let them run 24/7 but if you want to you can edit them to suit your needs.

Once you’re done with the first page, click "save and continue" and we can go on to creating our ad and importing our keywords.

Now I already mentioned dynamic keyword insertion which can be used on landing pages but it can also be used on your ads to increase your click through rate. You can do this by using the DKI tag which in adwords is: {KeyWord}

But in order to play it safe you need to have a fall-back keyword in case adwords decides to use a keyword like "buy discount shoes on the internet" which obviously wouldn't fit in the header. So to do this we use the following tag:

{KeyWord:Shoes}

This tells adwords that if our DKI keyword is too long to fit in the header, to use the keyword shoes instead. Now we can get to writing our headline.

I'm going to use this:

{KeyWord:Shoes} Save 100%

Why that? Well because numbers and symbols will always grab attention from viewers, especially on the content network. And you don't need to be a rocket scientist to know that the more clicks you get, the more money you can make.

I'll keep the descriptions simple and use this:

# Save 100% with a Free Walmart Gift
# Card And Beat The Recession!

So when it's finished, my ad will look like this:

In the next section you will paste the keywords that you gathered from google suggester into the keyword box. Remember that we first took the top 10 most searched for keywords and referred to these as our "root keywords" which where then used in google suggester. Each "root keyword" will be it's own ad group for optimum relevance and quality score so make sure you only paste the proper ones.

Now onto our keyword bids, as I mentioned earlier we're aiming for an average CPC of $0.10 per click so that we can test out the offer. If we get a lot of conversions but little traffic we can slowly increase our bids and if we get too much traffic with no conversions we can lower the bid or if the campaign just isn't working out we can dump it and move onto another niche without wasting too much money.

Now you don't want to bid $0.10 because that is the MAXIMUM bid, generally speaking you can expect to pay 40% - 75% of your max bid so $0.18 - $0.21 is a good area to start in depending on what niche you're going into:

Click "save ad group" and you're done! Now all you have to do is go back to your top 10 root keywords and repeat the process with the next keyword.

I hope you guys put this info to good use, remember that the key to making this campaign profitable is to target the right categories. Since Walmart carries everything and is so well known you can use it on just about anything.

  • I must have stumbled into a new thread on WF called "I'm giving away a powerful method that I should be selling in the WSO section"...AWESOME overview of a PPC->CPA method that tackles the difficulty of getting cheap traffic to convert for email/zip submits.

    Questions for you...

    (1) Do you tend to ask the advertiser to include your Conversion tracking script, or do you use your own tracking like prosper202?

    (2) Do you always send the traffic to your LP, then directly to the offer? Or do you capture their email and send it to the offer pre-populated?

    Great post p2y!
  • Holy crap dude! wow. just wow.

Very thorough! And also very generous.
    • [2] replies
    • I'll be completely honest. I would have been happy to pay for this as a WSO. I've had several others WSOs that are just rehashed crap......but this is the most helpful walkthrough guide I have seen on here yet.

      Wow, just wow!

Thanks a million times for this!

      *clicks thanks button*
    • p2y,

      Thanks for the great info!
  • This is awesome to say the least! I am so glad someone took the time to show newbies how it's done, thanks
  • Oh, I've got a quick question...

What type of quality score are you seeing for most of your keywords? 7s mostly?
    • [1] reply
    • 1) With this method I always use the adwords tracking system to track conversions because it tends to be more accurate and reliable than prosper202's tracking.

      2) Yes I always send them to the LP, direct linking is always a bad idea because it just exposes your campaign data to the advertiser and the affiliate network who would be more than happy to copy your campaigns and run it themselves. Another benefit is the quality score, when you direct link your quality score is at the mercy of the advertiser who cares more about conversion rates than they do about being "relevant" in google's eyes.

Yea pretty much 7's across the board, I have a few 9's and 10's but those are super targeted keywords and landing pages with not very much comptetiton.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Really great post here!

    Very quick question re DKI.

With your example where you used warrior forum when you built your LP did you use the code where the word appears? And that then makes it show up whatever the search term was?

Also if thats the case in the article we write how do we then write a relevant article about a term we wont know.

I'm sure I have misunderstood this step! lol
    • [2] replies
    • Thanks for the detailed explanation of a system that works. Although this is nothing new, It can be a winner for a newbie if applied the correct way. I have been trying the content network and I had some success with them too. I will try the landing page with a little modification to it, thanks for sharing.
    • Maybe I can help answer this....the PHP code on the landing page takes the KW info that is passed from Google/Adwords. In Adword, you can have the term that someone searched on be passed to your website, and then that will display where ever you'd like. So in his example, the keyword was "WarriorForum" and it shows throughout the website (to help with the Quality Score)

So if someone searched for "bug spray" on adwords, it could pass that term through to your URL like this:

      domain.com/index.php?kw=bug spray

and then the landing page shows "bug spray" where you'd like

The way I'd approach this is to not write an entire article for your landing page. The goal of your landing page is to get them to click over to your offer page. You can write a generic paragraph or few sentences that states "to get a free $500 giftcard so you can buy groceries, household products and <<YOUR KEYWORD FROM GOOGLE>> (bolded), click on the button to continue". You should be easily able to squeeze the search term into your copy. Remember, you want a higher quality score on Google, and get the visitor to click over to the offer

  • One of the best posts I read in a while. Thanks for the share.
  • I'm glad you mentioned something about scrubbing because a lot of noobies in CPA are unaware of this tactic. It's important to note that many advertisers run hundreds of different offers and use the same email database to check email submissions against.

What I mean by this is that if a person has already submitted their email address to say the "Free Walmart gift card" and they get another offer for "Free Home Depot gift card" that they enter in their email address later on, the email address gets checked against the database and finds a match and therefore no lead is credited. :-(
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • First off, fantastic post ! Really appreciated since you easily could have sold it for 10-20$.

    Now , for some questions:

1.How does the {keyword} parameter work with the content network. In search it obviously shows the searched keyword but how does it know which keyword the user is "searching" for on the content network?

    2. I was under the impression that QS on the content network almost only had to do with the CTR of your ad, especially with image ads since google can't detect what's in them. Thus making landing pages with DKI obsolete for quality score reasons?

    3. How does the google conversion tracking work when using a landing page? How does it know that its supposed to track where the person came from before the landing page? Does it somehow trace which site the landing page visitor originally came from? Please clarify.

    4. What terms do you bid on when creating your adgroups? I have created a lot of content campaigns and they never even start when I am bidding under 0.50 for a reasonably searched term, they only get approved and then 0 impressions.

Lots of questions but your post really intrigued me,

    Thank you
    • [2] replies
    • This technique would work great if google allowed email submit offers, but unfortunately google does not allow us to promote email submit offers. And doing so will most likely get your account banned
    • I've run into the same problem. I've got keywords with several million searches per month.....but only 1 impression in the last 24 hours across the board. I also can't see my quality score because I'm not running the search network. Do you have the search network turned off completely, or are you just bidding like $.01 for the search network?
  • This post is worth THOUSANDS to me. Im getting started NOW. Stop asking questions guys and dive in and get this $$$.
  • if you want to use the google suggest tool (above) but don't want to download it, or you got a mac or something, try this tool http://cctvsydney.com/suggest/

    • Jeff Scott pretty much answered this for me (Thanks Jeff) so I'll refer you back to his post. As for the relevant article, what I'm saying is that you can write something very generic like this:

That's not a very high quality article but it will be enough for google to score you on some keyword density.

Yes of course, I like using generic ones such as "giftcards4u.com" so that they can be used with other gift card campaigns.

      1) On the content network he {keyword} parameter works pretty much the same way as it does on the search network. Let's say you have the keyword "men's shoes" in your keyword list and when google analyzes an adsense page it determines that the keyword "men's shoes" is the most relevant keyword for that page then it will pull the ads for people bidding on that term. Since adwords and adsense are sharing the same data, it will have no problem determining the {keyword} parameter on the content network.

      2) It's a highly debated topic but in my opinion google does factor in on page quality score on the content network I just don't think they show it. They may calculate it or they may not but IMO it's always a good idea to play it safe. Not to mention that later on when you've collected all the keywords that are profitable and dumped all the keywords that are costing you money you can turn the search network on without having to rebuild your entire campaign.

      3) The adwords tracking system is pretty easy, whenever a person clicks on an ad they first go through google's server which places a cookie on their computer which tells them where the click came from, which advertiser it went to, how much the advertiser paid, and what keyword triggered the ad. When you take google's conversion tracking pixel/script and place it on the advertiser's website (this can be done through your CPA network's pixel manager or through your affiliate manager) google will be able to see that a conversion took place and it will tell you most of the information that they know (which keyword triggered it, what website it came from) and from there you can dump the keywords that don't make money and keep the keywords that do make money.

For a more detailed explanation, checkout this link:

      Conversion Tracking - AdWords Help

Whoever told you this is dead wrong, email submits are alive and well on google. Banning email submits would be like banning optin pages because they are pretty much the same thing.

Keep in mind that the content network determines relevance completely different from the search network, on the search network a term like "footwear" would get you plenty of impressions but on the content network you'll get next to none. With the content network you need to be VERY broad and generalized in order to get good volume. Think in terms of article/blog titles and meta tags instead of search terms.

Now this is what i call a detailed post. Thanks for the information.

I am new to PPC/CPA offers and this post is a goldmine and you could easily have sold it as a wso.

As i'm on a CPA learning curve at the moment (as and when i find the time from my Offline niche activities) i will have complete confidence in purchasing the WSO you have in your signature link.

Thanks again p2y and i'll be sure to try this method out in the near future.

    • Hey laurenceh,

I always include a few things on my websites built for PPC landing pages, and they include:

      1. Privacy policy (see attachment)
      2. Disclaimer (see attachment)
      3. Sitemap (not XML, but a user site map)
      4. Contact us page (with email link at minimum, contact form is better)
      5. About us
      6. On the home page I have outbound links to high PR authority sites...no one makes it to the home page anyway, you should be sending traffic to targeted interior pages

** On the attachments, just to a global find and replace for "MY WEBSITE" with your domain and you should be good. Note, these are GENERAL disclaimers that you can use as a starting point, and you should seek legal review prior to usage (there, now I am clear of any wrongdoing

      Hope this helps!

      • [ 4 ] Thanks
  • kool thanks Jeff. Was gonna use the ones I use on my other sites.

Just wondering wether this could be done with a free platform like blogger as a dry run though.
  • The walmart offer has expired in neverblue
    • [1] reply
    • This is a generic offer, other networks will have it. I just checked in my accounts and there is an active one in FluxAds, MaxBounty, Hyrda has a Target/Walmart gift card. They are out there

Always have multiple networks you work with...that way if Neverblue pulls theirs, you can swap it with other network offers (and you should split test the same offer against different networks as the WILL have different conversion rates)
      • [ 1 ] Thanks

  • Has it changed to a 500 dollar offer cos it has at bounty
  • I have no idea how to get adwords dynamic keywords onto my website
  • Not a bad effort!! anyone make some good coin with this yet?
  • p2y, I posted a Thank You just for the time you took to post all this step by step for us all for free. Much appreciated.

Since email submits like these will pay $1 to $1.50, the conversions has to pretty high or else won't be losing money? The clicks do cost something...

I understand at $10 a day we won't risk much, but let's just say adwords has not been a success for me, even the content network. If some campaigns do make money, what's your ratio (4 out of 5; 2 out of 10?)

To make the $100 a day how many campaigns do we need?

    Thanks!
    • [1] reply
    • Just because a campaign gets slapped doesn't mean that particular offer is banned from google. I've worked with charities and even a children's hospital which had it's campaigns slapped for no reason. If these types of offers were banned on adwords then the campaigns wouldn't get slapped, the entire adwords account would have been banned and unable to run any new campaigns. Just ask people who ran the "google money" rebills what happened to their accounts.

You will need to download winrar from this website:

      http://rarlab.com

Then just right click on the file, and choose "extract files"

Well when most people are taught adwords they are told to bid on obscure, long tail, and "buying" words with only phrase and exact match like this:

      [shoe websites with free shipping]

In adwords that exact phrase would have to be searched for otherwise the ad wouldn't be triggered. While this is a good approach to search, it's a bad approach to the content network because if you search on google only 3 websites have that phrase:

      http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...&aq=f&oq=&aqi=

And only one of those has adsense, so on the content network that keyword would just be a waste.

So some better keywords for the content network would be:

On the search network, that list would be suicide but on the content network it works perfectly.

It's simple, all you have to do is upload the .php file to your webhost, so let's say your site is myshoes.com, visit http://myshoes.com/shoes.php and then visit http://myshoes.com/shoes.php?kw=test and you'll see it in action.

About 1/3 of your campaigns will end up profitable but that doesn't mean you'll keep them. I remember my first campaign using this method I was making $30 per day but spending $25 because the conversion rate was low for that particular niche (fishing/fishing supplies in case you guys want to avoid it) so I dumped it. To make $100 a day in profits it'd require about 3 - 5 campaigns in big niches or 10-15 campaigns if you target smaller niches.

Its defintely a great method for newbies to cpa though.

  • Hi p2y. Really thanks for your post. There are two questions that I would like to ask you:
    • Can I scale this method to other CPA offer? Like Zip or offer that required credit card or cell phone confirm?
    • You mentioned about categories where root keywords are come from. In your example you use WalMart because it sells everything. But what if I am promoting a free trial **** berry offer, or teeth whitening offer, and free bingo game, something like that? Where can I find those "Categories" and get top 10 keywords? Would you mind please give us some examples on that?
Thank you again for your answering

    • Whenever I try to check out this campaign on the networks (tried three so far), I end up at an "oops! this offer has expired!" page. Is this because I'm not from the US? I tried using a proxy, but I end up getting an error page instead.

Is there anyway for me to see the offer page?
  • Every time I try using content network, I get no traffic unless I bid around $1. How are you getting traffic with such broad keywords like the shoes example? I get nothing and I've got over 2,000 2-3 word keywords based around shopping...

Also, google doesn't look at more than 50 keywords per adgroup, so you're better off seperating each adgroup to 50 keywords each or less. But what the heck do I know? I've never gotten traffic on the content network before besides polls (which is a horrible way to learn).

EDIT: nevermind, my account was just screwed. I'm running campaigns on a new account and it's working fine. Dumb google and account history ftl.
  • What do I need to do all of this??

I have no money I am able to spend because I lost my job 
    what do I need???
    • [2] replies
    • Well for starters, you will need a domain name and hosting. Then you will need a landing page. I prefer to use a full site and the LP buried somewhere inside. You will also need some money to spend on ads. If you follow the method outlined in this thread, you will be spending $10 a day. If you want to test it for, say a week, you should be looking at about $100
    • I think there is a place here in warrior forum to earn money working for other warriors. Otherwise, I'd go to elance and start bidding on some projects. Once you have some money to spend, then you can get into IM.

Unfortunately, most everything I've seen that's successful here requires at least $20/mo or so investment.
  • This is one of the best PPC/CPA post I have came across in awhile. How do you target the older crowd on content network?

Do you go out and look for older leaning forums that have adsense or choose products that seem to be older leaning and focus on those root keywords?

Also, after that do you still let content network automatically choose the sites that would be associate with your keywords?

I am really thinking about doing this. I think age from 30's and below have become to skeptical of email submits.
    • [1] reply
    • LOL, this is a whole other topic, so older crowd is 30+? My sister who is 52 signs up for all sorts of adware and incentivised stuff online. She's always forwarding it to me hoping to get me signed up as one of the xx people she needs to join up to get some credits/points/dollars. She actually gets banned from some of these places for having more than 1 account! Her son who is 15 is just as bad.

  • Hey p2y! Firstly, I want to thank you for posting such a great, in-depth guide for beginners! I was able to set up my first, trial campaign according the tips you provided

Just one quick (and stupid) question - when it comes to filling out my keywords for Adwords, am I only using 1 root keyword and their subsequent "keyword results" for 1 campaign only? and hence I will have 10 campaigns running for all 10 root keywords? Or did you mean to copy/paste all 10 root keywords and their other "results" into the same keyword field for my campaign? I guess that would make a difference between $10 / day or $100 / day

    Thanks again!!

[EDIT]: Nevermind, I found my answer, hehe

    • Hi :-)

      A great post indeed.
Just one problem, for me anyway.

I have several campaigns running in Adwords, but on Google search only.

Each time I try to run ads on content network, they stay in "under review" for ever.

So I cannot use the content network at all with adwords.

My question is : are there other ppc networks that have content network?

      Thanks

  • This is some gold info here guys, and this stuff applies to any kind of offer, not just email/zips. Most people fail because they bid on car insurance keywords for car insurance offers, when instead you should bid on the demos that may be interested in a car insurance offer. It's all about thinking outside of the box here, folks. 99% of marketers don't and thus fail. p2y knows his stuff so follow his advice and profit.

p2y, what's your average position when you bid at the 20 cent range? Mine is around 3-4 now that you've taught me your strategies.
  • Hi p2y,

I've been testing PPC->CPA offers and thought I'd give your method a test using Google Content Network and image ads. I don't want to hijack your thread with my case study, so if anyone is interested in following what I'm doing, here's the link (this is 100% based on this idea by p2y in this thread):

  • Is it possible to get accepted to all the affiliate networks with just that one page on your website?

Moreover will you be able to run a campaign without getting slapped by google or is there just NO CHANCE(Not even getting your campaign accepted)

I am Brand spanking new(within 3 days) and I am full steam ahead on this guide got everything except affiliates people with experience answering my questions would be MORE than NICE but yes I am eating up as much of the info on this forum as possible.

    • Finally got around to tinkering with this. Hopefully it still works. I've setup two pages targeting two product niches. My ads are currently "under review" with google. Not sure how long it's going to take to get out of that state, but I'll update everyone on the progress.

If I have success, I'm not sure I'll tell you about that, but if I find any losers, I'll let you know so you don't suffer the same fate.

I set my bids at .21, the offer at my network is paying $1.15. That means I need to convert 20% or get my bid price down some. My budget is set $10/day, I can spend that on far stupider things that trying to make money, so what the heck.

Something I didn't read in this thread, but I also put some demographic limiters on it. I set it to exclude ages 0-34, since I've read all over warrior that this age group is very hard to convert on email submits.

I noticed some folks were having a hard time finding the offer, PM me if you're still having trouble.
  • wow great tip you can really add some twists to this method and generate some easy income.
  • btw guys, you can't use the trademarks of most gift card companies in the ad or else youll get some limited approved ad that doesnt get traffic lol. You can however use typos, combine words, etc. to get your ad thru
  • Thanks! Great stuff..
  • my impression is that: to make this method work, the help from your AM is a must, otherwise there is no easy way to filter out bad performer.

I am no sure AM will that helpful if too many similiar request from us to insert a piece of code.
    • [1] reply
    • Your mixing ad rejections with campaign slaps, you will not get your account banned or closed for getting slapped. I've had my original adwords account now for over 5 years and despite all the slaps it still runs campaigns just fine.

Yea mine around 3 - 4 as well, a few 1 - 2 but that's only on low competition campaigns or on adgroups with high (8+) quality scores.

I'll be following along, best of luck

I guess you could use that page to get accepted by CPA networks, but getting accepted isn't really about what type of website you have it's more about verifying that you are who you say you are and that you're not out to defraud or steal money from the network. When CPA networks call, all you have to do is answer and be honest with them, tell them that you're new to CPA marketing but do have some general internet marketing knowledge and would like to work with them. Unless you come off as sketchy or untrustworthy there is no reason for the affiliate manager to deny since most of them are paid on commission.

As for getting slapped by google, of course it's always a possibility with any type of campaign you run but it's nothing serious, that's why webmasters call it a slap. If you do get slapped, all you have to do is copy the campaign, delete it, get a new domain, and then restart the campaign under that new domain and you should be ready to go.

You don't need to depend on your AM that much, these days most networks have automatic pixel management which let's you place the tracking pixels yourself without the need to contact your AM.

  • Apparently not a lot of people use google content with image ads
I am trying this now and will follow 'case study' thread
  • Very generous! Thank you for this guide.
  • Okay well I must be doing something wrong here. My stats for today:

2,801 impressions 0 clicks 6.2 average position. Shouldn't there at least be a few clicks by now?
  • Well, I am using "Walmart" in the text description and seem to be OK, cuz it showing "eligible", but the problem i am having is no impression at all for, already 30 hours. What is wrong?

Another thing, i noticed several members here using image ad, this is not required for this method, right? text ad should be good enough?

Update: alright I guess I was wrong, my ad is at approved (limited) status, so the trademark issue drag me down
    • [1] reply
    • Yea I had my ads on "Limited Status" also. Take out the term Walmart & replace it with something generic like Retail Gift Card. That should activate your ads.
  • Im now at almost 7k impressions for the day with 0 clicks
  • Damn now 10k impressions with 0 clicks!
    • [1] reply
    • KyleJames,

You mentioned that your avg position is 6-7. For the content network this is the equivalent of having your ads on page 7 of a search campaign.

Adjust your bid amount so you're in the 1-4 range. If you have to go so high that it's no longer worth bidding, pick a new set of keywords. The good news is that at least you're getting impressions with Adwords. This was more than I got. If you can get your position to 1-4, you'll get clicks.

Hopefully this helps. Oh FYI, I'm using the Yahoo content network and have had 300K impressions with 14 clicks, no conversions. I'm not doing so hot either LOL.

  • Can someone explain dynamic keyword insertion a little better to me? I still don't know how to get it to function with my ad's/website and yes I read the link p2y provided.

Do I need to change anything on my website or am I simply inserting the {KeyWord:warriorforum} into my ad title?

    • Sounds like a low QS. You need more content on your site. Forget the dynamic keyword insertion on your site. Only use it in your ads. Get some PLR material and add a couple of pages of content linking to your landing page. Throw in some content on your LP as well but place it at the bottom of page so your lander still looks like a lander. Keep to the basic lp structure: Order Now, Get Yours Today! etc. Also try driving some traffic to your offer through articles before setting up a PPC campaign. This will give you some valuable information. You will see if your LP converts at all, you will get some idea about conversion rates and keywords. Test several LPs with different offers. Write tons of articles to gather data

    • anyone else know of any similar posts with other campaigns/methods for profiting with adwords?

please post the link... I've got $110 in adwords credit and am trying to find a good type of method to use it to set up a nice little profit system....

Yeah Butters, I think you're paying way too much for click... .20 - .25 with the payouts only $1.05-$1.50

not impossible, but tough to profit with those margins IMHO...

      maybe go for mispellings etc...
  • Just fired up my campaign, paying about 20-25 cents a click, so far 1k impressions and 3 clicks no conversions, got about 300 keywords, so I am gonna use 10 bucks to find out what keywords are good and what are bad, then just simply create custom landing pages for each keyword group, looking good hopefully
  • Heres a question, whats your conversion?
  • For those of you having trouble getting impressions, the first thing you need to do is buildup your keywords. Keep in mind that this is mostly targeting products so the bigger and broader your keyword list is the better, if you still can't get any impressions after doing that then up your bids a little (2 cents at a time) and go from there.
  • I hate to be that guy, but I'm going to.

If you do this method, you will end up getting banned from adwords.

You cannot direct link to an email or zip submit offer anymore. This method did work about 2 years ago, but not anymore.

Now, that said, you CAN still do this on the second tier ppc engines and have it work without risking your account(s).

    • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • [1] reply
    • PPC-Coach how is this "Direct Linking"? You're going to your own website/landing page that has an offer?

Has anyone been banned using this method?
      • [2] replies
  • Coach is right, you can most definitely get banned doing this because you're sending traffic to a crap landing page. Google hates bridge pages and thousands of affiliates are getting banned for running them.

In regards to keyword insertion, it doesn't work on the content network for the ads. It only works on search. Why? Because content network doesn't go by keywords. It goes by the theme of the adgroup. So don't bother with keyword insertion. Just test out a bunch of different ad headlines and see which ones gets more clicks.
  • Coach, I think you overlooked the landing page
    • [2] replies
    • No because the landing page doesn't make a difference. Bridge pages are bad. Do them and you'll get banned. End of story. The only way to honestly succeed on adwords with CPA offers at the moment is by cloaking. Sorry, but it's the truth.
    • even with a lander, u can't run such offers on yahoo. they manually review and DISAPPROVE such offers.
but i think coach missed one thing here: not all email submits is bad or not allowed. walmart gift card such not allowed, but some other "legit" type of email submits, like thinkfamily etc. is ok with yahoo at least.
  • break even and out. waste of time, move on.
  • Great ideas, thanks.
  • By the way, straight from the horse's mouth (ie. Google) on what the criteria is for them banning accounts (as of a few days ago...fulll post below):

    • Data collection sites that offer free items, etc., in order to collect private information
    • Arbitrage sites without relevant and original content that are designed for the purpose of showing ads
    • Affiliate sites without relevant and original content that are designed to drive traffic to another site with a different domain
    • "Get-rich quick" sites
    • Malware sites that install software on a visitor's computer
    • Poor comparison shopping or travel sites whose primary purpose is to send users to other shopping/travel comparison sites, rather than to provide useful content or additional search functionality

  • First of all i dont like this guy!!!! i use campagns very similar to this to make great profit i wont tell you my little area but i will say this works very very well.... worst one of these i have going for ever 1.20 i spend i make 2.75... best one is about 1-4.... not drop dead rich but it deff doubles the bank account when i run them...

    Tips.
Use The google suggestion tool he shared. Here is how i use it... say for example ur root is Pizza.... type in pizza hit suggest... then hit suggest again...should come out with about 132.. now break those up into 3 groups... group them how u like and those are three add groups u use... i know someone already metioned but i am re stating google only takes the first 50 keywords so you have to break them up.

    2. And in my mind most important tip is your LANDING PAGE... if you have 10 people go to your landing page but 0 to offer you make 0!!!! Make it short catchy... and i either an article or video below stating why they get the free offer..... The sample he gave sucks but its just that an example.. the setup is good, he gets the point across and it converts!!!

    3. i dont know if you can call this a tip... but its just what i do... i have all... and i do mean all of my email submit landing pages on the same url... i get 7-9 scores usually and they are all 1 pages simple to the point pages...

    4. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID

I really enjoyed that this info is out on warrior form at the same time i dont like sharing the profit

  • First of all thank you P2Y for explaining this method and others who contributed as well.
I have been trying to implement this method, but i am having some difficulties. There have been many questions about the subject of dynamic keyword and how it works. But i am not getting any clear answer to this.
Can anybody explain what it is and how exactly it works please?

For example you suggests to use ad in this format:

    head line: {KeyWord:Shoes} Save 100%

description line 1: Save 100% with a Free Walmart Gift

description line 2: # Card And Beat The Recession!

    *

    display url: mysite.com/{KeyWord:Shoes}

    destination url: http://www.mysite.com/shoes.php?KW={Shoes}

But when i do that, the ad gets disproved because the display url isn't right!
And there are many other questions. I would appreciated if someone could explain a little bit about this and how dynamic keyword thing works. Thank you so much in advance.
    • [2] replies
    • Satrap, your ad gets disapproved because you use the word "Walmart" in it. Don't use any brand names. Replace it with "Retail" or something and it gets approved I had the same problem.

I've been trying this method also, but I didn't succeeed the first time (just tried one niche). I will surely try with other niches later, but as I have so many other ideas in my head and on implementation, the methiod is in the waiting list. But I'll let you guys know when I'm starting with it and succeeding.

All in all I guess, you cannot just copy-paste the method, you've got to show some creativity. Try to do something different than all the others are doing. Also, you can combine this method with different others described in the forum, also, there are many good hints in the same thread. Think outside the box, do a lot of testing and you'll succeed

    • As I stated in an earlier post - DKI will not work on the content network -Your ads are only being shown on the content network based upon a theme (which is obtained from the ad group keywords that you have in each ad group - Shhot for no more than 50 KW's per group) - Your ads will show but your landing page will not pass the DKI to it, so your page will look stupid because it wont have any of the KW's you expect it to see.

You need to have another landing page that caters to your ad group themes, ie - If you were running a Weight Loss offer - and it was **** - then you might have an ad group that has KW's in it that pertain to "**** benefits", so you then build a page around that theme. Do the same for the other ad groups and you will have a higher CTR.

Now if you run Search, this wont be a problem, you will have a good QS and your pages will be relevant because the KW's are being passed properly.

The content network is tricky, be careful you can go broke very quickly with it.

Some more food for thought, I have seen posts asking about stats - here's my quick rule of thumb - (1)Lots of impressions - No clicks = My ads suck, (2)Lots of Clicks - No conversions = My Landing page sucks, (3)Lots of clicks through to offer - No Offer Conversions = The Offer sucks. You can fix the first 2 but not the last one, unless you make your own landing page and pass the info to their sales page.

      Hope this helps,

      Kyle

    • To everyone asking about results - I am confused what you are looking for. CPA marketing in a PPC model is pretty straight forward: PPC to direct traffic -> landing page to pre-sell and drive traffic to offer -> convert.

This guide shows you exactly how to do that. The next steps are tracking, testing and optimization which you can find tons of threads about here.

PPC marketing can be intimidating but the only way to create experience in this area is to start doing it. No guide is going to give you an exact formula because there is none.

However, I think that if you follow those exact same steps with Google today you will be bagging for a slap. So if you want to use this method you need to either apply your own twists to please Google or simply use other ad platforms.

So many newbies take everything as written in stone and refuse to be creative or substitute another traffic source in with the method.

  • This is hell of an old thread, but it's some high quality one. It will no doubt help many newbies have success if they put on their own twists to make it happen.
