Find Converting CPA Offers

Hi guys,

What is your preferred method of researching whether a CPA offer will be converting or not? (not talking about asking your affiliate manager)

Other than asking your affiliate manager:
    1. Log in and check for the good offers in the network (usually they will be shown as HOT offers). These are being promoted by many people, and so, should be converting.
    2. Check the mails which the network sends to you. See which campaigns are mentioned (not the new ones, but the performing ones).

I mean, you say not to ask your am but that is by far the best way. He has all the data at his fingertips on each offer and how different traffic converts for each offer. If AM's didnt exist...

then I start by looking at EPCs but they can be very deceiving, but its a good starting point

I also look at network earnings if the network has a rank

I also look for offers that just look good. I put myself into an average visitor mindset that would be seeing the offer and see if it is persuasive enough that I would fulfill the action. Landing page style, colors, testimonials, social proof, easy call to action, organized, professional, etc are all things I would look at. This is not a science and every week I am surprised that offers I thought would be oustanding would be lifeless and offers I thought were rubbish blow up.

    good lucksters

First I see if there is a market for it.

I go by EPC, search on Google or Yahoo to see if people are promoting it, and also look on YouTube to see if there are videos promoting that particular cpa offer. If people are spending money on Google or any search engine chances are they are making some money.

Yeah but isn't half the battle finding products that are converting where there is little to no competition? If one product is flooded with advertisers wouldn't it make it harder to convert, and also have a high CPC?

Not if you already have other traffic sources.

Think about it. Person X is spending money to promote offer Y on google, and get traffic from searches. If you already have non-search traffic to your site, it is entirely possible to make money by showing them that same offer.

Finding th eoffer is relatively strraightforward
but sit down and write yourself a simple 5 step plan to finding and offer - do that for a few weeks then tweek it.

many people have different ways that work for them and unless you work your own method you will get so much advice and not do any.

The real challenge is working out how best to promote and see them convert!!

    additions wwelcome

Whoa honestly not ask your AM, seems silly. Maybe you have a crappy AM? I suggest get a new one or a new network.

With that said I like to reverse from the traffic source. I truly believe i can make a better ad or presell then most other people. So if someone is running a campaign somewhere I'd figure I could do better. Find out what vertical people are running on the traffic source you're looking at then try and do it better. If they're making money you should be able to also.
