.com vs .net, .org, .bz, etc - Which for PPC?

The question is a simple one and I figure who better to ask than the experts here!

I'm wondering what kind of differences come in to play in the following situations for PPC (specifically google):

If you've got a massively high volume keyword, is getting it in .bz, .info, .us or any other lesser used ending still good for PPC?

Or would a lower volume keyword with a .com be better in the long run?

Thanks for any advice fellow Warriors!

Best,
-Matt Burns

For SEO, the TLD is important (.com, .net, and .org tend to be the favorites).

For PPC, it doesn't matter really (although I'd stay away from .bz personally). Some people like going for .orgs as it conveys authority, some people go after .info's since they are cheap and you can buy a few and run the same campaign to two similar domains to take up more spots.

For PPC, keyword volume and domain selection doesn't matter.

PPC is all about keywords. .com, .info and so on only matter for aesthetics.

Where the general population is concerned however, .com's are thought to always be best although you will find many people here (myself included) who have tested various ways and have found little or no overall difference.

I humbly disagree with those who say the domain extension does not matter for PPC.

While the PPC networks are not concerned with the extension, your prospects are. It is a matter of credibility. The extension says something about your site.

If you want commercial authority, choose .com 1st and .net 2nd

If you want to appear as a special interest, choose .org

        The list goes on...

Further, if you do create a site and eventually want top SERP, then you should choose the correct extension.

The combination of PPC plus SEO is often overlooked. Most successful ventures implement both - there is a synergy.

        Regards,

        John

Whether it's PPC or SEO - everything matters.

          Regarding PPC:

The display URL consumes ~25% of your ad copy, so of course it will have an effect on CTR.

Split test if you don't believe me. (You should be doing this anyway...)

The length of you name can play a role and a 3 leter tld would provide better value than a 4 letter tld such as .info

this is really splitting fine hairs down to the bare minimum but every sigle part helps when stacking the ods in you favor. I wrote a small section in this a while back that may help you > http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...ers-dozen.html
