Do you use landing pages or direct link in CPA?

Just curious what most of you use when doing your CPA campaigns...a landing page you create that then leads them to the CPA form, or do you direct link in most cases?

Thanks!

I do both direct linking and landing pages.

Split testing is definitley reccomended and usually I find that higher involvement cpa offers will need a landing page to boost conversions.

So what do you guys actually put on your landing pages? Is it more pre-sell on what the person will get if they fill out the next CPA form? A review? I'm just curious.

    Thanks!

What are you trying to accomplish? Always ask yourself this question before starting a campaign.
As posted by misterwrecker - more customer involvement is usually better served by a landing page.
Have you thought about capturing an email? If so, you will obviously need a landing/squeeze pg.
      Hope that helps.

I do both. Especially if it's with email submits...and to hamidoo, you'd want a landing page if you're doing email marketing and/or working with email submits esp. on Google.

    Depends on the offer.

Email submits and other freebie / giveaways...Don't bother

One general rule of thumb...The more info the consumer needs to give, the more info that is needed to get them to give it.

    Think of it like this:

Buying a tube toothpaste - Just go in, get it and leave.

Buying a LED TV - Gonna shop around, ask a lot of questions, compare prices.

    Get the idea?

Depends on the product and their landing page. So I use Direct and Landing pages. I prefer landing pages overall though.

Mine is a landing page (simple blogger site) using "creatives" from the offer. I also add in a few text containing the keywords so that it helps to rank the page in the SERP's. I use article marketing and Web 2.0 to promote the site.

This way if the CPA is pulled or change or if you want to promote a different offer within the same niche, you just change your links to the other offer. Gives you more control.

I think this also depends on where you get your traffic from, I've tested direct linking to offers that require more fields and that failed miserably, but then again that was mostly traffic from Clicksor, I still have to see something positive come out of their traffic.

I would not direct link form Google adwords, they're slapping the world upside down and you don't want to get caught in that.

Google has essentially banned direct linking because it does not provide a good user experience. Even MSN has gone the same route. Quality landing pages are the only way. Try content network for email and zip submits.

I use both. At one time I almost exclusively used direct linking, but I'm getting away from that and am starting to use landing pages for most of my campaigns. This is important, especially with google adwords on the search network (not so with content).

Have the same campaign setup twice, once linking to the offer and once to your landing page that then goes to the offer.

Depending on your budget, I'd spend $50/each and use which ever converts best. (My bet is going to be on the one with the landing page). Goodruck!

Depends on the offer...usually with edu campaigns direct linking is used and with rebills you want to give them more information beforehand so creating a landing page is useful.

So what do you put on your landing pages exactly that is better than the landing page of the CPA offer itself?

What are the advantages of creating a landing page on your own and THEN sending it to yet another landing page of the CPA offer? Why not just direct link and save that extra step?

I use both...depends how I'm running my campaign. For an Adwords campaign, a high quality landing page is a must.

It depends on what you're doing. I will talk on behalf of PPC. I use unique landing pages that link to an in-depth, well-optimized site. I create these landing pages on the fly and mold them to the offer I'm promoting. I like the autonomy of creating my own because, through experience, you learn what converts best and if you use analytics on your lp's you can monitor your visitors' actions very closely; for example, if your landing page has links to "about us" pages and most of your visitors are clicking those links instead of clicking the link to the offer page (where you want them!), then you'll be able to see that within your analytics so you can adjust the landing page by taking off the "about us" link.

Also, I feel you'll gain a better quality score with a unique, well-thought-out landing page!

(contact me if you need help setting up analytics, I use ClickTracks!)

      Hope this helps

it seems like direct linking would save alot of time...

is there a way to collect email on ur own landing page and putting it into the offer and submitting?

I prefer landing pages. In CPA I look alot for offers that
only require an email submit. Landing pages work for
          these.

At this present point in time, I'm using direct linking mostly though one thing seems to be quite evident, the effectiveness of it is SLOWLY decreasing.

Might start building some landing pages for some of the more popular niches soon.

I do both because it depends on the CPA offer. There are some offers within a niche that I want to build an email optin list. For those offers I use a landing page (squeeze page) and offer a "Free Report" so that I capture a name and email before sending the lead to the affiliate offer.

I start by testing out doing direct linking to make sure my ad-copy, keywords are working and if they are then move the same offer to landing pages so that I can monetize even further.
