Hi guys

I have just joined maxbounty, and i'm having a few problems.

I'm trying to set up a new campaign, in the fitness niche, but I keep being re-directed to another campaign (totally different). This happens regardless of the cpa offer code I generate - it keeps being re-directed to this same cpa offer.

The cpa offer it keeps being re-directed to is the only campaign I have in the 'report' section of the website. Might this be the problem?

I would really appreciate a step by step guide of how you set up new campaigns on maxbounty. I've been trying to sort it now for 2 hours in front of the laptop!! Any help/guidance much appreciated!

Thanks again.

Are you sure the offer you are trying to promote accepts visitors from your country?

If not, then that's why you are being redirected to another offer.

When you click on a campaign in your maxbounty account it takes you to the campaign permissions page, at the top of that page "right under where it says campaign permissions there should be a link that says:

Preview Landing Page: Click here- Merchant IP filtering might prevent foreign view

Click the link that says "click here" it should take you to the correct campaign, if it does then the reason your link is being redirected is because the offer doesn't accept traffic from your country. Another simple way to tell is to check lower down on that same page where it says "Countries Allowed" and if your country isn't there then that's that.

Yeah, it's most likely a country redirect. I use Neverblue a lot and their default is Webfetti. Took me a few weeks to realize what was happening.

One good tip: If you track clicks with Tracking202 (or presumably other similar packages), you can get the IP addresses of the various people clicking (through their subids). You can pump the IP addresses into an IP address geolocator (I just Google that and use whatever pops up), and get the country (and sometimes approximate city) of where the click is coming from.

Then you have to work through piece by piece where you're getting your traffic from and if the CPA offer allows traffic from that country. If you're buying traffic (PPC, CPM, PPV, etc) you can usually target traffic from a specific country. If you're doing SEO, it's a lot trickier.

Once you get really sophisticated (more than I am), you can use various PHP scripts to show campaigns appropriate for organic traffic from anywhere in the world.

In the meantime, the CPA networks just try to help you out by automatically directing the traffic to someplace where it at least has a shot of making you money, as undirected as it may be.

I had the same problem when starting out. I wrote an article promoting a Best Buy gift card in Canada only to find out the offer was for the U.S. only. I got over 1000 Clicks in 3 days and 0 conversions. Apparantly Canadians are not interested in the Gift Centre Future Shop crap lol. Probably could have made a couple of hundred bucks. I learned a lesson though. It won't happen again

Yes, this is a country redirect.

Actually, if the offer is for a different country than the visitor, they are redirected automatically to an offer targeting the country of the visitor.

You can check the campaign using WorldProxy202.

  • Hey Tyson, you need to use a proxy to check the sites if you use masking of domains. If the campaign only allow you to target US, and you live in U.K., you are redirected to the best campaign for U.K..

If world Proxy 202 is down you can also use world wide proxy.

Where do you want to place your ad?
What kind of marketing methods do you use? PPC/CPV/Articles/Classified ads etc.
Have you set up your own domain for the campaign and use masking?

Give us some more info so we can help you better :-)

Sometimes the "preview landing page" also redirects if the offer isn't available in your country. Use a proxy like hidemyass.com and paste the url there to see the landing page
