Wordpress is the way to go when using landingpages?

Hey dudes, what do you guys think of Wordpress and using Wordpress blogs as landing pages? I think they are pretty sweet and convert pretty well for me.

Take me 3 mins to make each and last week has been good.

By the way I am not promoting my products but just giving few examples;

http://instantfatburn.wordpress.com/

http://celebswhiteteeth.wordpress.com/

Anyone else using Wordpress?

P.S I also heard Google loves Wordpress

I like wordpress for all of the functionality you can add with plugins. Once it is setup it makes page creation quick and the plugins add a lot of versatility. Good job using the banner creatives to brighten your pages without having to generate a bunch of graphics. I can see how the pages would have been easy to build but they still look good. Did you use the WP salespage plugin to build these?

My wordpress sites have done well in google but I specifically SEO'ed them with some popular plugins and added unique content. I don't think wordpress is particularly better in Google's algorithm than say a well done static html site. But with plugins and all of the dynamic functionality Wordpress helps you keep your site SEO friendly.

Hey, no I didn't use any wordpress plugins for these. They work as they are for me, I first came across this when I made a personal/fun blog and it showed up on the first page of google rank 5 for 2 keywords.

Then I realized with some SEO you can get these to show up in organic search results quickly.

I could be wrong - it's happened before - but I'm pretty sure these are in violation of WordPress.com's TOS. I would suggest putting them on your own domain rather than risk them being shut down.

I've never had a problem with their TOS and have been using them for ages with no worries.

Everybody keeps saying that Google loves WordPress, and I haven't find any clue that says otherwise. But, are you sure that's the way to go with your ads? I've tried stuffing my pages with ad banners and that didn't get me high conversion numbers, nor high ctr for that matter. Maybe you should test your page with less banners and see how it goes.

Maybe its how you promote it, making $200 a day at the moment which is good enough for me right now.

It's true that Google loves Wordpress. But also loves content. So if you only have banners and popups all over the site there isn't much google can pick upon. When I started blogging on blogger, I made a mistake with stuffing it with only banners and offers, no content. Never got picked up by any engine or got free visitors. Also if you are doing Adsense, there's less change you will have relevant ads appearing at the bottom making you money.
There is loads of content out there. For me and my Wordpress blog content is the KING. I can still put up images and videos and banners, as long as they are relevant.

hi, its quite easy if you go on WordPress.com — Get a Free Blog Here and register for a free blog and call your blog something that is related to the offer and includes keywords.

      e.g. instant fat burn etc

and just upload a new custom header and put banners down the side. fill it with content regarding the offer and maybe put a big banner at the bottom.

      all done.

no worries, if you are just starting out you can create a website page related to your offer using wordpress for no investment at all and start trying to bring traffic and get conversions.

once you master it you can do the same again but by purchasing a domain and taking it up a step.

        Hello,

I saw one of your wordpress sites and I have to say that your site does violate wordpress rules. There's a good chance that your wordpress site will be terminated. Trust me, I've had it happen several times before.

The best thing to do is build websites using wordpress instead of relying on wordpress dot com.. This way you don't have to worry about breaking Wordpress TOS. It's simple to do, plus you have much more freedom with plugins and templates...

I'm a technophobe and a complete dunce with technology...but I will say that creating a simple Landing Page was a whole lot easier with html using Kompozer (free) than using WP...my two cents' worth anyway...

yeah i am already using wordpress on offers that i have a domain name for, i am just testing these offers using the free wordpress blogs before i get a domain and do it all up proper, so its no big deal if it gets terminated, just testing and see what works.

I'm not using it at the moment as I have moved away from landing pages but I bought a new wordpress theme (squeezetheme) a month or so back wich I still use on one site. Squeeze Theme (non affiliate link) and I think I remember reading somewhere that they have released a landing page theme. If you cant be bothered to mess with kompozer and like WP then I imagine this would be worth a look

Wordpress is one of the most flexible content management systems you can get for free, so it's a great choice for many sites.

Although I would always recommend putting all your efforts into self hosted Wordpress blogs instead of free ones. Gives you an asset that you can sell further down the line.

    Thanks,
please tell me how much traffic unique visitors per day do you get for each landing page?

Did you promote it or do you get just traffic from keywords and SEO?

After how many months do you get sufficient traffic to sell?

Do you have just one page per Wordpress blog? Is one page enough to get traffic and sell?

Is it definitely not allowed to place affiliate links on Wordpress LP?

hey i am not sure how much traffic each landing page gets, as i usually get a domain name and do it all up proper but just decided to test the free method.

i promoted them in blogs and on videos etc.

yes i only have 1 page and most things on the page are linked via the affiliate link to the offer page.

i don't think you are allowed any advertising etc on these free wordpress blogs.

Placing ads and affiliate links on Wordpress.com will surely get your account deleted. I will check your links in 30 days and bet they are gone.

If you need to use a free option, use Blogger. It is owned by Google, so I bet they love Blogger even more than Wordpress. And they allow commercial use.

Just a heads up and hope it all works out for you. But don't tell others to do it it as Wordpress does shut these accounts down and it will be for wasted time and effort. If you are going to do all the hard work, you might as well do it for a long term strategy.

Although Google owns Blogger, it is much harder to rank a Blogger page than a WP. I do hundreds more linking and sharing on blogger, still my WP site rocks.
I don't think if you get valuable content on the site with aff links they delete you, but if you just make a stock of banners, there's nothing to pick on for the search engines, either. So nice content (can be review, article, comparison) and your aff links are fine, I bet.

Wow! That was the quickest shut down I've EVER seen! Someone here report the site? Or, does WP have lurkers on the forum for stuff like this. At any rate, perfect example of what NOT TO DO with WP...I guess using your own domain and just using the WP platform for posting content and linking to your money site is what you should do from the start...good luck!

Yea, as noted above, they've both been terminated. Sorry to hear that dude, especially if they were doing decent. But if you made them work once, I'm sure you can do it again within acceptable lines of WP TOS. Best of luck to you dude!

I'm curious what caused them to be terminated though? Anyone have any idea what exactly got them removed? I'd like to avoid whatever that may be on my future WP sites.

As you can see all that work for nothing. The WordPress blogs already shutdown for TOS violations.

However WordPress is great for your own hosted commercial sites and also LP's. However note that unlike html the WP php pages are usually made on the fly by accessing the data from a MYSQL database. Now on most shared hosting accounts where the MYSQL server is also shared, load times can be slow. Plus too much traffic (eg PPC,PPV etc) and soem hosts shut you down.

Solution: I recently got a managed dedicated server in Chicago (quite a fast little box) with CentOS, php and MYSQL with (here's a tip) the Memcached extension installed. Support did that on my request in a mtter of a few minutes (literally!!!). Now my WordPress blogs and other php scripts (like tracking.... hint hint ) process and deliver as fast as possible for my dedicated 100MBps line.

Plus my new hosting company said they dont care how much traffic is on my server as its NOT shared with anyone else. As long as my activities aren't iliegal for US law. Ya gotta like that! HTH

One is self hosted on your own hosting account, it can be downloaded from their site and installed on your hosting server, and also it usually comes with your hosting package under fantastico (I think it depends on your host, check your host for that) in your hosting account cpanel. You use your own hosting and domain name.

While the other is hosted on wordpress hosting server. You'll be given a subdomain name (something like www.yourname.wordpress.com) that will be the address to your wordpress site.

Both are free from wordpress but certainly the first will cost you hosting and domain fee that's around $100 a year.

With the type that you host on your own domain (through bluehost etc.), do the TOS still apply, or is it only with the free version? I mean... I'd assume that if you basically bought and made your own site(granted WP gives you the layout) then you could do whatever you wish with it.

I can't really say because my self hosted wordpress sites has never been flagged for violation of TOS. What I do know is the it comes with the GNU License. I'll recommend doing more research on that
