You linked to the hop link in adwords or did you purchase a domain name and re-directed to the site?

I linked to the hop.... i made like a $10 profit not much but its a start. Here is how I configure my adwords ad... example: Purchase this $29.99 Mafia wars guide and learn how to beat your competition. Basically told them from the start it would cost them money to purchase

I believe Google is cracking down on this type of affiliate adwords advertising and want you to have a regular landing page, instead of linking to a hop link directly from your ad.

Yeah, that first sale gives you a huge motivational boost knowing that this IS real. Sometimes you hear the numbers and hear people making money but until you make that first sale it seems not necessarily that it isn't real, but that it isn't achievable to make money online.

  Yes, that can be extremely good. Many users who see this will immediately leave because they want free information. That is fine for you because now you dont have to pay for their click.
  
  This is especially important for high ticket products in highly competitive niches. If you are paying a dollar or more for a click, you want to be extremely confident the visitor is motivated to give your offer a shot. Putting the price right in the ad may reduce visitors but increase conversion!

I was 17 earning $20k a year profit online with clickbank via free advertising!!

My first sale came from the rick jerk ebook lol.
I created a blog with a review of the the ebook.

After my first cheque of $40 I was hooked!

Here is an update... yesterday went really well... I spent around 25 but revenue was 52 so around a 25 dollar profit.. not bad... I got extremely drunk last night and payed no attention to my businesses online lol

Nice dude, I hope you are trackign your keywords. Take the winning keywords you have and find similar keywords...expand horizontally, find synonyms etc. Start trying to scale buddy. Going out on Fridays nights are fine...I did it too, but spend the next few days trying to ramp the crap out of this. The initial stages are very important in a campaign...you never know when things will turn south so its all about speed right now.

I presume you only have a few keywords then.

At the very basic level just do simple sub id tracking. Then immediately move on to learning something like T or P 202.

That is awesome, yeah you should track for sure, it is important to know what keywords will make you money.
I remember my first sale I made no tracking I just knew what the product was, but I made a sale in one of 5 lenses I made, that had the same product, so I don't know which one converted.
Ever since I have been putting ID's on all my links to know what is converting.

If you have a tight budget, try driving free traffic to a few different products and seeing if they convert. Some products simply don't convert and probably never will no matter how much you optimize your campaign or how much you drive traffic to them.

Despite all the hype from people like Mack Michaels etc and all the other affiliate product owners, its not as easy to make Clickbank sales as its made out. I read somewhere on this forum that a very low percentage of sales are made by affiliates and most of the sales are made by the product owners themselves. I can well believe this. I have made sales but its like 1 in every 2 or 3 months if that. i too am too used to seeing zeros so ive moved onto CPA and make more money with that than do with Clickbank. Maybe the Clickbank market is getting saturated?

you cant base other peoples returns / sales on your own sales and or what somebody somewhere said , I am sure there are those affiliates out there collecting regular sales ? saturated ? don't 90% give up easy ?

I tried the redirect about a month ago. And last week Google emails me saying
"the landing page sucks--fix it or you'll get slapped. And if it's not yours tell the owner to update it or you can't send clicks to it anymore"

But hey we all get wiser and work smarter. Try some different ad variations, different people react on different words, like "Purchase" has a different value to some people than "Buy", "Order, "Get", "Grab", "Download", "Super", so on... you get the idea... words have a different value set attached so try different ad variations for a higher CTR and conversion. Good luck

Oh snap, 50% refund rate. That is insanity. Some pretty poopy clickbank products out there. Sometimes I think clickbank should be a little more stringent with their product acceptance.

CB's analytic sucks huge time... The other day, it was delayed for around 12 hours! Man..

Oh yea, you should really start tracking your campaign to the keyword levels. I was using CPV and had I not track anything down to the keyword levels (which I really think that CPC users should do that too), I would have left so much money on the table!

P202 self hosted version is good enough man

Careful with the direct linking ... Google only allows 1 direct link to a website which is usually the merchant and not the affiliate. You better clarify this before you continue, otherwise you might get your campaign penalized/stopped.

But good work on your first sale, now you know how it works. Good job!

congrats, try to find more cheap traffic sources to earn high profit margins. Using adwords is good but keep in mind they can disable it anytime if they find something shady.
