Is this considered incentive?

I got a message in my myspace inbox today and it said this

Hey man you don't know me but I no your wife well sorta I know who she is anyway and
I don't know anything about your relationship and it's none of my business but she has
a profile on a dating site for cheating wives and it's not my place but I would want
to know... I made a fake myspace page just to tell you because I don't want her to know
it was me who told you the site is **** I'm sorry man and like
I said I don't know what goes on with you guys behind closed doors or anything so sorry
if you already new or whatever

Right away I figured it was just someone trying to get me to sign up at the website considering I'm not even married. Is this ok to do or is this considered an incentive? I went to the website out of curiosity and you have to put in your credit card info to even see who has a profile. I'm just asking because if I were married and I got this and knew nothing about IM then I would probably do it just to see. Do CPA networks allow somthing like this? I'm just curious not that I would try it

I don't know if it would be considered "incentivized" but I would call it extremely tacky! (And that's putting it mildly.)

It is completely unethical, and on top of that it is obviously spam. Stay far away, when something looks like a skunk, and smells like a skunk....

I mean I think it would be considered incentive because they are giving you information in exchange for your action of some sort which will get him paid. So yes it would be considered incentive.

More importantly its pretty tasteless. I just dont understand. There are sooo many ways to make good legit money online, especially with cpa offers, like why even stoop to deceptive and tasteless marketing. I dunno, maybe its just me.

rant of the day, i apologize

I totally agree it's crazy to think that someone would do that think of all the relationships they could potentially mess up just to earn a buck! If I had no idea what was going on in the IM world and I was accually in a relationship (you would think they would have checked my relationship status first) I would have been to curious not to sign up and god knows how much they would have charged my card!

Yeah, cpa marketing is a slippery slope because a lot of people feel if they are behind a computer they arent actually hurting real people. Because it is soo impersonal, people seem to stray from their moral fiber more than they would otherwise.

I know right lol. Unless you just didn't care what your wife was doing, our you were into that type of thing I don't think someone would be able to resist. Would look pretty fishy to the CPA company that you were converting at like 98%!

I think it is worse than incentive. The CPA network should ban that affiliate tricking people in such manner. The FTC is coming after him......

I'm guessing the CPA network doesnt even know. There are ways to hide, fake traffic. If they are a regular cpa network they woudl ban once/if/when they find out.
