The People at Facebook SUCK!!!

Man, I am so frustrated.

Not only did it take Facebook 30 hours to approve one of my ads, but after it got approved I went inside to make some targeting changes. I changed my target market from 18-25 year olds to 18-30 year olds to get a wider audience and as soon as I did that my ad was paused "pending review"!!

What's there to review?

You already took 30 hours to approve the thing in the first place. Now, here we are 3 hours after I made a simple targeting change to my campaign and it still says "pending review"!!

WTF!

And yes I did contact them but God only knows if and when they'll respond.

Do any of you guys who advertise on Facebook experience the same thing?

I know they're relatively new to advertising and all, but seriously this is ridiculous. How are they going to be a legitimate contender in the ad marketplace when they can't get something as simple as approving an ad right?

And this isn't the first time. About a month ago when I submitted my first ad it took them 5 hours to approve it. Other ads have taken just as long or longer.

Just thought I'd get this off my chest.

Any ideas?

I can fully understand how you feel, I was in the same situation just yesterday,I edited an add and had to wait approval again. They have usually responded within an hour to most ads I have placed. I am not sure if there is any real way we can speed up this process.

I think 24 hours is legitimate as its required.

But I guess as facebook ads is going to grow you can't expect them to catch up so fast.

You would have to be patient as companies are very slow in decision making.

I think the companies that catch a flow are the ones that succeed faster.

So, don't expect facebook to add up human resources to get your ads approved soon.

Don't be impatient though your needs must be taken care of. Send them an email or your concerns by contacting them. They'll have someone help you out with your ads I guess.

They're (most internet marketing companies) are not as fast as google.

I agree that FB's approval process sucks...unfortunately, it's something that we all have to deal with. They've gotten stricter on their approvals process and a lot of that reflects FB as well as POF, MySpace, etc need to align themselves with FTC rules/regs, etc. Just keep in mind, FB isn't all excited about having to hire more staff just to do the routine task of looking through ads for anything remotely questionable (whatever "questionable" is supposed to mean). Let's just hope the approval process speeds up

    Hey,

Don't have a problem with the length of approval. In comparison to Google banner Facebook has awesome approval times. What I hate is morons that they employ to do the reviewing. Complete lack of consistency. They throw rules at you without even reading them it seems.

    Cheers,

    Andy

Dont crucify facebook or compare them to Google or other PPC ad agency, they barely have 4 yrs of experience. They are still very young comapre to these top PPC site. may be they'll improve over time

Well, I'd rather not risk it. I had bad experience with PPC before, more than 30 hours approval times... Then saying 4 hours behind with the stats, it may be 12, so you already lost money if the ad doesn't convert.
My facebook tactic would be to get my msg accross free, although I know people are making loads of money there, I just think there's too many lookers and not enough buyers, so haven't tried it yet.
I'd appreciate if you could post more testimonials before I decide, anyway, for example stats and conversion compared to Google or yahoo.

Their system isn't bright enough to differentiate between various fields in the ad creation process, a change is a change is a change.

My tip is to create multiples of the same adds, with the various demographics , so you're not held to ransom on every change, you have other ads still live.

I was speaking to a FB expert this evening actually who mentioned they are getting insanely picky over ages in adverts, matching text to the offer to the point of insanity etc.

I am using Facebook Advertising from 1 year.Facebook advertising has come a long way.In the starting days they uded to be very strict with grammer and text of copy.My ads were dispproved for incorrect grammer or even not using a period at the end of sentence !!The approval depends on the time zone you are in.I have noticed that my ads are usually approved between 16:00 to 20:00 EST
