PPV traffic conversion problems

Hello!

Few days ago I started looking into PPV traffic and singed up with MediaTraffic to test some offers out.

I've setup 3 offers and did URL targeting instead of keyword targeting since its.. well.. more targeted

Now, about ~1500 clicks (or page loads) later not one conversion from any of the offers. The 1500 clicks are combined with all 3 offers.

I was promoting lead offers with 5 to 10 fields to fill out, so no trial offers for now, and was also using direct linking.

The offers I was running were according to the aff. managers good for PPV traffic.

I was expecting at least 1 conversion from 1500 clicks
Want I would like to know, is this normal ?

    Yes, it all depends on how well you targeted your urls/keywords to your offer

    Each URL was targeted to the offer, I checked them all before submitting. There were about 1000 URLs in total.

    Well 200$ is the minimum funding for MediaTraffic, I'll test with it and see if it works, if not I'll move on.

      you said that you had 1000 targets well what is the most amount of impressions that you have had for any one target,your traffic is spread out so it will take more time to figure out what is converting,why not try one url with a lot of traffic and rotate as many related offers until you find the winner.

      for testing if the offer pays out $15 and i sent $20 worth of traffic to one target and there were no conversions then i would pause that target.

    Hey,

    Yes this is pretty normal for you to find a lot of clicks and low conversions especially when you first enter PPV/CPV traffic. When I first started to experiment with PPV traffic I was getting the same results high clicks and low or no conversions. It took me quite some time to tweak my landing page, headline and URL targeting websites to increase the conversions rates. You just need to play around with everything, split test to see what works and what doesn't, bare in mind don't keep throwing money at a certain campaign because not every niche will work well with PPV.

    I was doing direct linking too a moment ago. Never try any landing page because I don't know how do to that on my own, and I don't know what element to put in to a landing page even if I have to outsource it.

    However, I managed to make around $130 of NET PROFIT out of only around $2 ad spent on cpv/ppv advertising cost. Conversion rate was around 30-40 : 1 . So it's quite a good one I would say. It was a lead offer too !

    However, I lost around $150 before testing and tweaking everything into the right path. So I guess it is really important for one to TEST and TRACK everything down to the keyword level in CPV/PPV campaigns.

      Try using some basic landing page that attracts user's attention. Keep in mind you are interrupting him with a popup , so you better have smth that he won't close immediately. A good landing page for ppc is different from a good ppv landing page.

      Also , make sure to write a big bold headline that offers a benefit to the user.

      And the most important , track everything. If you have conversions , you better know what generated it.

    Yeah I use Prosper202 for tracking, one thing I didn't quite understand.. how do you load the subids into prosper202 to check what converted ? Where do I get them ?

    Anyone did that with Copeac ?

      Not sure how you do that in Copeac, but in my network, it's all running in auto mode.

      However, the manual way might be this. Load up your sub id report from copeac, copy all of the subid that converts, and then head to P202.

      1) Go to UPDATE
      2) Update Subids
      3) Paste all of the Subids into the blank area and then click "update subids"

      Done

    It's quite normal to lose money while testing. There is a learning curve, so depending on many issues, the money-losing phase can be quick or slow...

    So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.

    Thank you for the replys.

    Something I just noticed and was wondering if this would get one in trouble with the AD network (which I think it will).

    I wanted to split test an offer, one with direct link and one with a landingpage.
    The one with a landingpage was approved but the direct link one was denied bcause the page has an exit popup.
    What if you just add one with a landing page and after it gets approved you just auto redirect to the offer as if was a direct link?

    Your targeting is too broad. You need to target as tightly as possible.

    Throw away the URL scraper and...
    1. Manually select 20 URL targets
    2. Test (run the campaign for 24-48 hours)
    3. Tweak (eliminate the non-performers & add another 10 - 20 targets
    4. Repeat 2 & 3

        With targeted path - I target specific pages most of the time. It has to be a really niche site for me to target the top level domain only.

    It's really trial and error. For me, it took me forever to figure out what is converting and what not. Because who knows.. it could be your landing page.. the way your advertising.. what's in your advertisement.. and who you're advertising too.

    It will take some time to decipher what's wrong.

    Well, you can put video on the landing page but without audio according to mediatraffic, so not sure that would grab any attention.

    Anyone know a way to check the demographics of mediatraffic users?
    Would be easier to get an offer if you know who the people are who use such services.

      Contact Basil Hatto using AIM. Let me tell you an easier way. Contact him and ask him for a hot list for the month, hot list of URL ! That means the most visited URL.

      And then from the URL, try to find out which can be used with your CPA offers.

      I was once being taught that, FIND THE TRAFFIC FIRST, and then find the offers to be promoted to the traffic, which in this case, is the URLs

        thats a great tip thank you! but strangly AIM can't find basil hatto (basilhatto).. i did find him in the The Affiliate AIM List - Instant Messaging List for the Affiliate Marketing Community but not directly on aim.. but if i cant reach him ill try my manager over ICQ
