What makes one an expert?

Is it how much you know? Is it earnings? Is it experience? These are all questions I ask myself when I take advice from someone. Alot of guys on this board take advice from anyone I noticed, it's kind of like religion where someone tells you to believe something and you just believe it because they say so. I think there should be more upfront honesty, because it makes me sick when I see guys charging 3 grand for coaching when they only maybe make 3 grand a month with cpa, sometimes they don't even make that much. I basically went from making 50-100 bucks a day with cpa to ten times that and much more in a month's time, but I also did affiliate marketing two years before that. I can't tell you how much money i spent falling for ebooks that claimed to have the answer and really had the most OBVIOUS stuff in them. Yes, there are alot more guys on Warrior FOrum who are successful compared to other sites, but the thing I want to get across to the newbies is this: You have to find your own way. For me, the problem was that i was trying to do a little of everything. I was doing ppc, articles, videos, everything. I couldn't focus on one area, but then I started really making some serious leads with one method i'm using (which is very unique), so I figured, "why not pour my profit back into this method since I know it will work". I think what i'm trying to say is that newbies come on here, and search for the Magic Pill so to speak. Something that will turn them into a millionaire overnight. Whether an online or offline millionaire, the same mindset is needed. There's a very good chance that guys who make alot with CPA would make alot if there was no internet. So just get out there, make some mistakes, get ready to lose some money at first, and get experience. Find something that works, and put your efforts into that, if you want more, then move to something else. I guarantee you there are guys who are CPA millionaires that only use one or two methods at most, and they may not know jack about other methods. Of course there are guys, some on here, that obviously know alot about all the methods, but it takes a certain creativity and mindset to be successful. I guess the reason i'm writing this is because I had a guy, who's a member here actually, buy some sites from me and he spent 3000 on a coach that basically didn't deliver, I'm not saying the coach was from the Warrior Forum, i'm not trying to start an investigation or argument. Anyway, I promised the guy I would help him, unfortunately i've been busy with my business, but after a week or two delay, we will start next week. So, anyone who reads this post, this is not to cause trouble, but it is a warning to newbies. The BEST way to learn about CPA is by doing it yourself. Obviously you may want to buy a beginner's guide like Kenster's Rags to Riches Guide, for an experienced marketer, there's alot of obvious stuff in there, BUT, alot of times we overlook obvious stuff, so newbies I recommend getting some kind of guide to help you and keep you on the right path. There is no secret key that unlocks the door to riches, success is determined by the individual.

Nice post man. I would like to add, that for anyone reading this that is new to CPA or PPC, if you want to just dive in to all of this and get the best knowledge possible and finally get an understanding of how things really work, i highly recommend going to cpahotspot.com . You have to optin with your email but you get a free 89 pg report. This report is written by Gauher Chaudhry, who is basically a PPC > CPA king. He is also the creator of PPC formula 1 + 2. He sells ppc formula 2 for like $2k i believe it was, but people buy it and continue to buy it because hes one of the only guys out there who knows what hes talking about and isnt full of pure bs. Ive been doing ppc and cpa for like 4-5 months now and I had some basic knowledge but nothing was coming together, and then a friend of mine made me read the free 89pg report, and after that he let me borrow his ppc formula 2.0 course. Im not trying to promote or sell for this guy and his product, trust me he doesnt need a post on warriorforum he makes more than enough, im just trying to convince any nubs reading this to go download the 89pg report immediately and stop wasting your time with all the bs thats sold here

TJ, first all of thanks for the R2R shout out!

I think you make very very valid points. It really comes down to approching CPA like a business. From the first moment I learned the definition of CPA I decided to take this seriously. I prepared myself mentally for the upcoming hurdles and challenges just like I would an offline business. This mentality is critical to achieving success.

Another good point you made is that you need to focus on something and just make it work. You cant be the jack of all trades and bouncing around from trade to trade wont get you anywhere anytime fast.

I knew coming into this industry I didnt have the technical background to compete with the big dogs. So I focused my business on the marketing angle. I have a good marketing mind so my success doesnt come from complex programming, advanced SEO or anything like that, it comes from pure creativity. My business model doesnt revolve around advanced techy stuff and it never will. I found what I'm good at and I'm using that to do well in CPA.

One thing I always tell people when they ask me for the best way to approach CPA, is I tell them to take time to analyze themselves first. If you have site flipping experience, integrate CPA marketing into that somehow and you should be able to do well. If you have an SEO background, then focus on that with CPA. If you are completely new, then focus on free methods and feel a few things out to see what you are naturally good at. There is and never will be a best method for everybody. You've really got to pave your own path.

The warrior forum and some WSOs and guides and other resources are important but they are just pieces of information, I like to think of each piece of information I learn as a lemon. Everywhere you look you will find lemons. After reading this forum and other resources, now you have plenty of lemons.

Now all you need to do is find out how to turn those lemons into lemonade!!

Great post with great advice. Stop chasing, stop looking for miracles, just start hustling your way to making money.

id like to make a note that I definitely respect people like kenster, mike morgon, emjayce, and some others i cant remember. There is a lot of crap sold here, but that doesnt mean there arent diamonds in the ruff. I have learned tons of awesome information regarding ppc and cpa on this forum, and the people I mentioned above have made countless posts that have changed the way I do things for the better.

And some people are turning lemons into liquid gold!

In my definition, somebody is an expert if they are very knowledgeable about a given subject and can not only tell you all about the subject, but is able to better judge the unknowns of the subject and forecast the future of the subject.

The interesting thing I have found about CPA and I am a victim of this myself, is that you dont need to be an expert about CPA to make money with CPA. You can become an expert at a very specific method of promotion or you can get lucky and find a site that nobody else is advertising on, or you can just hustle your way to fortune.

You really dont need to be an expert in CPA as a whole, just need to be good at whatever you are looking to do. If your CPA goal is to advertise in newspapers then you can know nothing about SEO and nothing about programming and html and make an awesome living for yourself.

So either be an expert or hustle your way to your goal

To me, an expert is someone who knows more than I do about a certain topic. As I learn more, I change to another expert at a higher level and follow that one for a while.

    Great Insight
To be considered as a expert one would have to ask himself has he learned and applied the necessary knowledge or skill in whatever field he is in question about. Every specialized field requires time and experience to learn, implement and also be able to teach to others. So as we learn and can implement what we learn and then in return teach others we can be branded as a expert as our skills increase.

okay, in online poker and casino CPA is cost per acquisition, meaning the player joins makes a deposit and meets minimum wagering requirements, so its a bit different.

The A in CPA stands for action, in otherwords, a lead. Unlike a regular sale with clickbank products, cpa offers each are different in what they consider a lead. For one lead it may require lots of personal info and a credit card, for another maybe just a short form that takes less than 30 seconds. The more they require the more they pay out, which can almost be as hard as making a sale sometimes.
