Alternatives to Amazon and eBay?

Hi All,

I need a good alternative to Amazon and eBay.

I have specific niche products that my websites are focused on.

Unfortunately, I live in Colorado, so Amazon shutdown my account.

eBay, on the other hand, won't accept me. I'm guessing it may be: "Your business model or stated website does not appear to be one that would attract eBay buyers (the eBay Partner Network does not currently provide commissions for bringing eBay sellers or listings to the site)".

Preferably, I would like an affiliate that provides an API or something that would allow my site to appear as an online store. (I've seen sites that use eBay like this.)

Any thoughts?

  • Try Commission Junction or shopzilla
  • One more vote for Commission Junction!
  • cj is easier to get approval but when it comes to get the individual advertiser's approval within cj its not so easy.

    p.s.

by the way this is my first post here. hello everybody...nice to be here.
  • I would keep trying with eBay - quite often you get rejected because they tried to call and didn't get through. Do you know exactly why they rejected you?
  • CJ is all I can think of..
  • cj,linkshare & clickbank are easy to join free of charge
  • If you're going with CJ, make sure you build a site that is in the niche you want to target. They're very old school there. They were originally built for website owners to find banners to put on their sites. So if you build a perfume site and apply for a shoe merchant, you might get auto denied. Once you have a history and if you're making a bit of dough with them, you'll get approved more and more.
  • Allan- did Amazon give you the option to keep your account but simply re-domicile it in another state? Did they give you a list of states that were banned?

Regarding ebay, you'll need to follow PPC-coach's advice there as well- they deny most applications unless you have a really nice looking niche site that sells similar products to what you might find on ebay.
  • Try out Stuffbuff they allow you to sell anywhere online and embed auctions.
  • Shareasale is also Good one

  • CJ all the way!!

  • Amazon and eBay are both awesome because they have XML API feeds that give you access to their entire catalog. Does anyone know of alternatives that have product API feeds?

  • if you do not have any option for amazon or eBay, i suggestion is you should go for commission junction.

    thanks
  • CJ, ShareASale, LinkShare and ClickBank.

Also, if you have UK traffic, give Affiliate Window a shot!

    Good luck
  • you would go with amazon by register with US adress or anyother country. I got approved within 24hrs without phone confirmation. so, it is easy to get approved
  • Hi Allan, To be honest Ebay an Amazon basically have 90% of the traffic, so most people goto ebay or amazon to buy things, so even if you found other auction sites they literally have only a trickle of visitors going to their sites, so in my opinion it just isn’t worth wasting your time with auction sites that you could hardly sell anything due to no existent business!

But if you are happy to earn $5 per gig for quick freelance type jobs you could try fiverr dot com
  • if you want alternative of amazon and eBay, i should must say the name commission junction.
