CPALead movie sites LEGAL?

Hey there great warriors!
I am following this forum for quite some time but this is my first post.

I want to build a movie/tv shows streaming website where I would embed the movies from hosts like megavideo or sidereel and monetize it with CPALead.

Would this be ilegal? I mean after all I am not the one hosting the movies, I'm just streaming them on my site. I just got confused after hearing some issues involving movie sites not being legal and was hoping you guys could help me out.

Any advice from owners of such sites would be highly appreciated.
Thanks!

Oh and for my first post I just want to say WARRIOR FORUM ROCKS!!!

No beacause You are not uploading the video's or hosting the sites you are thrid party.

All movie sites use sidereel or ducktv or you tube or megaupload(even mine)

As long as you dont claim you are the creator of the tv series. you wont have no problems

if you wanna see what one looks like plse visit my site in sig to get the idea,
    cheers

I would not upload full movies...I would do clips or trailers while giving credit to the original author.

    Thanks for the responses!
I want to stream tv shows and full movies also to offer some content for the people taking the CPALead survey. There are sites saying you can watch movies not even launched yet to get people to complete offers but that's just BS. I want people coming back to my site and watch others.

So I guess it's ok and I will get to work, maybe get an offshore host.

123bc your site looks very nice. Could you tell me how much you make with your site considering it's about 1 show?

Current / Special events you can slam for 1 or 2 days work very well. Boxing events, clips of natural disasters/etc...

Then you can run it for a little bit and kill it and move onto the next one.

I had the same idea (odd I know).

However I have found lots and lots of sites doing this, but I found no one running PPC on the keyword I'm on, and they have LOTS of monthly searches (like 500k)

There is no competition so I think it should be good, my idea was to put a content blocker there with a survey related to the show, or even an email submit also related.

Do you think I should make a site and try monetize it? My only concern is that there is lots of competition, and no PPC campaign currently on the keyword, I'm concerned that it could be money down the drain, but then again it could be big money too. I'm just a bit confused

I tried before with the CPALead gateway from PPC to LP. 500 clicks a day with no one enter their information, even though the clicks are cheap. Maybe my method was wrong, but PPC more targeted, nobody want to enter more information when they are searching for something.

andrecr7 if you found a keyword with that many searches and nobody doiang ppc on it you could be sitting on gold. Why don't you test it a little? Throw a few bucks into a test campaign and see how it goes. Nobody could tell you exactly how it will go without testing.

This movie niche is huge and this movie site I'm working on is my first bigger project. I am having second thoughts though because there is so much competition. On the other hand I will work my ass out to make it look very professional hoping it would help.

I set my goal to reach 1000/month with this site in 2-3 months. How achievable would you think this is? I'm starting with a low budget and I want to buid some capital for some paid advertising so I chose CPALead for starters.

I don't live in the US so I don' really know the legal matters involved here. That's why I asked you guys what to do.

So I don't live in the US, will have offshore hosting and also make a disclaimer. I think I should be fine right?

Anyone telling you this is legal, has no clue what they are talking about, if you are hosting your website on a UK/US server, then it IS illegal, you'll require off-shore hosting if you wish to carry on with this project, I suggest a server in the netherlands, but thats just me.

So you say it's not legal but it's ok if I get US hosting? Why is that?

I don't think you have any legal issues if you are just streaming video from another site. If you start making money, you might want a separate hosting account ($10/mo) just to be on the safe side. As long as you are not HOSTING the content, downloading it and then uploading it to your host, it should be fine. All you really have on your site is a link to another site. It's just like having youtube videos on your site. The youtube video may get banned and the owners account disabled, but that will not get YOU in trouble.

        Hope this helps.

It seems to me I heard that same argument made by the owners of PirateBay after they were thrown in jail. If you are violating someone's copyright laws, and the country you live in has copyright protection agreements with the USA, you are at risk.

You may not be hosting the content, but your are assisting in promoting it.

If you do a quick search for Pirate Bay Prison on Google you will find story after story about their arrest and imprisonment. I'm not sure exactly what has transpired in their trials since then.

I'm just bringing up the point the logic is flawed. If you contribute to the distribution of illegal materials you can be held liable.

If you took their logic and applied it to the drug trade it would mean I could sit at home, make phone calls, arrange deals, direct traffic, and since I never directly handled the drugs I'd have no way of being prosecuted. Want to try that?

This is not legal advice, but an opinion I base my decisions on.

The thing is you must create a site not just cater to streaming copyrighted movies, try combining wiith movie reviews, youtube clips, posters, etc. to dilute the illegality of the site.

you can check out my site tvlinko.com for some ideas.

I know that PirateBay is a torrent site and I did hear about the trial. The four founders were indeed jailed.

I was wondering though how do sites like megavideo, sidereel, and so many others go along? How come they don't have trouble? And if they don't have, why should I for embedding their videos?

And like kchui1028 said I wont be only streaming movies, but also have movie reviews, trailers, youtube videos, maybe even a news area.
Man I'm so confused now. I was really excited about this project.

Genix, I'm not personally familiar with those two sites, but it is possible they have rights to the content they are showing. If they have obtained rights to the TV shows and movies, and are giving you an option to embed the movies in your site, then you are not doing anything illegal.

The problem only comes up if they are not legally hosting the content. It is much the same issue which happens on YouTube all the time. They are getting hit by the big players in all of the Movie, TV, and Music industries to remove content which is copyright protected. They make efforts to see the content gets removed to protect themselves. Not all video sites are being scrutinized as closely, nor are as diligent about trying to remove the content.

Even YouTube has TV Shows and Full Length movies in their inventory, and give you the option to embed them. One thing you can be very sure of with YouTube, they are legally there. This could easily be the case with the other sites, too.

The odds of someone getting jailed for embedding a video from another site is not very high.

My previous comments are more to make sure you ask the questions of places like SideReel and MegaVideo before you go full steam ahead.

There are many ways you can use clips of movies and stay within the fair usage clauses of the the copyright laws.

I actually have no idea of the legality of what you are wanting to do, it could be perfectly fine. It is just something I am not comfortable doing.

There are sites like movshare, vidreel etc. that host and stream the latest movies but I don't think they have the right to do this so I'm not really confortable embedding their videos on my site.

I saw different disclaimers on other sites like this saying they are not responsible for copyright legality of the content and that for any legal issues the hosting sites should be contacted. I still don't belive this would save my behind from problems though.
    So what should I do?

Do or don't.. there's a lot of money in netflix affiliate marketing, easy quick big money. It's your choice whether or not it's worth the risk.

I will include netflix to it. I don't have to be a member of any CPA network to be an affiliate right? I see they have direct affiliate posibility and you apply on their site but I have to finish mine first. How much do they pay for free trial again?

they used to pay 15 now only 12. It's not free signup, visitors will have to submit credit card info on the next page for a CPA.

Well I know I could probably make more with other cpa offers like these than CPALead but I'm not into any other CPA networks yet. Don't think they will accept me since I'm from outside US and not that experienced either. I just wanted to start off with CPALead, make some money and then move on.

hmm.. like i mentioned in another post, i didn't design the site solely for Internet Marketing. Initially i just wanted to start a site of value, something people would find valuable and use daily to watch tv shows and movies. I can make enough money for a living on traditional advertising network like PPC, CPM, Popups, etc. with my traffic.

But once i started on using affiliate network, i find that my niche affiliates pay one heck of a lot ($15, 19, some 22, 24) for one potential customer. That caught my interests so i start looking for a few more affiliate network i could get into and start cashing in like no tomorrow with these two programs.

Well I see you've hit it with this one. I'm sure you worked hard for it but what the hell, it sure pays of now. I saw on your thread you had 1000$ days so you must be making a healthy monthly income. I can only dream for that kind of money now but damn it I'll get there some day

And another question my friend, how hard is it to get into VPN? Do they have other good offers besides netflix for movie niche?

i didn't have any problem getting into VPN because of my traffic. I never bother to ask if there's any restriction on that. One thing about Netflix is they only pay for US traffic conversion. "US ONLY"

    I cant speak for CPALEAD....
but I can the key is the arrangment w/ the Advertiser.

I believe some of the other gateway companies had a major snafu w/ advertisers because the content was pirated and they did not approve these types of traffic, so there was no payment, and these networks put it on their affiliates rater than eating it themselves.

At Leadbolt we have made arrangements with the advertiser to accept certain types of leads including TV.
