NetFlix In-House Affiliate Program Question..

I just clicked the apply now for the NetFlix affiliate program and was sent off to apply for the Google Affiliate Network/Adsense.

Does that make sense, or was I just redirected due to being in the Philippines?

lol, Because I am from Kansas, and from the Philippines. I am an American, my wife is a Filipina. We split time between the two countries. Right now we are in the Philippines and won't be back in the USA until September.

Kenster, thanks for the response. Looking forward to getting the approval on Netflix and getting busy working with the ideas from your new WSO. It looks like a lot of profitable FUN!

I've noticed the CPA offer for Netflix has a 2 week trial, yet Netflix itself has 1 month.

Is any network offering a 1 month trial offer?

Netflix's affiliate program is run through Google. Its not like a traditional CPA network. Offer is paying $16 and $0 cost to user, pretty awesome!

pm me if you have any specific questions about netflix!

Yea I got accepted for this but some other networks run the netflix offer for a bigger payout. I wish the one with google matched the high payouts of the other networks, I don't see why it wouldn't.

I think Kenster said because you still get paid even if the user doesn't buy. I think that's what he means by $0 cost to user, whereas with the cpa networks the user actually has to end up a paying member for you to get paid. That's what I believe, anyway.

What do you think about the following idea. It's nothing new but wanted to run by the experienced folks who are working NetFlix CPA offers:

Brand new domain name, distribute flyers directing people to go to new domain which will redirect them instantly to netflix landing page?

What kind of marketing message can I put on the flyer? Can it be get free movies, sign up at <mynewdomainname.com> without mentioning netflix?

Does Netflix has any restrictions on the marketing message that drives the traffic to their offer?

Do you need to have a movie related blog/site before getting approved by the Aff. network?

    Your input is much appreciated.

    Thanks

You can promote offline but check with the offer restrictions to be sure. Try being very targeted with your marketing message.

If you are distributing flyers at a condo complex called Warrior Gardens, then try out...

Hi Warrior Gardens, Special Offer!! Free DVD blah blah

        instead of just

Special Offer! Free DVD blah blah

You can go directly through the CPA networks and can use offevault to find the ones promoting the offer.

Also keep in mind you can use blockbuster, lovefilm, whatever similar offers there are at the time you are promoting.

    Thanks Ken for your response.

What do you think about creating a squeeze page to capture the email addresses of people going to mydomainname.com and then redirecting them afterward to Netflix landing page? It may lower the conversion rates as there are more hoops to jump through but it will build a list which could be marketed to later.

Could I use Netflix's logs or color scheme in the flyers? It appears that Netflix doesn't want the affiliate to use material thay may suggest that it's coming from Netflix directly.

How could I use classified advertising (Craigslist, newspapers, specialty magazines etc)? Special offer for <MAG. name>, get free movie online?

What's been your experience with color vs. black and white flyers? How about using business cards with brief messages on both sides. The advantage of using the business cards would be that they can stay on the reception counter/waiting area of a business (pizza shop, hair saloon etc) for long time.

Thanks again for your replies and wish you luck in your CPA adventures!!

I can feel your pain Harro. I was successful in joining the Google Affiliate Network, but declined by Netflix, no reason given, and no contact method to follow up with them.

I'm applying to a couple other networks, but I'm going to start working using the Blockbuster offer until something materializes with Netflix. Not a big deal, just less commission per completion, which means I'll have to scramble a little harder to hit my goals.

Does traffic from an offline flyer compaign to Netflix affiliate's site (mydomain.com) and then on to netflix landing page count as Web/Display Traffic? Referrer in this case would be mydomain.com.

I understand web/display traffic to be traffic that's generated by users clicking on NetFlix's banner on a website or through a text link on a blog, right?

Have a look at Lynn Terry's site, the netflix link is a text link in the Cool Links section on the right side bar.

Yep, if you are promoting Netflix its always good to belong to their affiliate program just in case a network drops the offer just like that!

Yup their offer disappeared. My Account Manager there was pretty helpful, but he's not sayin anything about their Netflix offer.

Check OfferVault for more. Some of the networks there tell you the tracking on the Netflix is 2 weeks delayed

I'm going to stick with the in-house for now. Does anyone know how to track conversion with Google's Netflix offer? There's no place to input source or subids.

The offer has been jumping around a lot recently for some reason.

Keep in mind that just because an offer isn't advertised doesnt mean a network doesnt have access to the offer. I have used the offer from networks that dont have the offer available to public, so make sure to check with your AM.

I got denied by G aff network probably because I don't have a site that fits their agenda. I was going to promote this via CPV and Social so I don't need a website at all.

I am a member of a few CPA network but all of them have had this offer pulled or paused.

    Stupid Google is running everything...

Should I even bother trying to reapply with G Aff network?

If you have a good idea on promoting the offer, then yes, you should still continue to try getting access to the offer.

My personal opinion is that if you want something bad enough, 99 times out of 100 you can get it. If you want access to the Netflix offer bad enough, there will undoutedly be things you can do to significantly icnrease your chances of getting accepted. Most people will just apply the normal way and then call it a day if they get denied.

I would suggest putting the extra effort in. Maybe build out a decent site that will work perfectly with Netflix, and use that site when you apply or when you call the network, point to that site. They will know you are serious about the offer. Maybe write a letter to the network you are applying to IN ADDITION to calling them an continue calling them if you dont get in touch at first.

Just a little bit of effort will take you a long way in this CPA game (and life)!

Good luck all...its a great offer and within your reach.

I agree but this is the Google Affiliate network I am talking about. Write a letter to Google, call Google?

      Seriously?

If you have a number or address for anyone at Google's affiliate approvals program who could give one crap about an affiliate please share and I will give it my best shot.

They are looking for one of two things mostly (from my experience)...

    1. A good movie related site. Something about hot movies, maybe a review type site about movies, maybe something about entertainment or gossip type stuff. Here the audience is targeted so they dont mind a site with less than optimal traffic.

    2. A high traffic site. Maybe you have a blog with a lot of traffic. Even if its not related to movies, they obviously will like volume.

The problem is that they dont want to waste time managing people who will generate 1 lead a week, so they seem to be more picky with their acceptance.

And, I think I have sold a good number of my Netflix Ebook so they got even more applications than normal, which probably created even more of a bottleneck.

Its a fantastic offer though. You can check out plenty of other movie related sites out there to give you tons of inspiration into what you can create!

I'm going to sign up for Netflix in awhile. I have a movie site but it's not yet getting a lot of traffic. I hope I will get approved.

    Will update you, guys.

Thats the best part...its a phenomenal service. I anticipate they will expand to more and more countries/continents and only get bigger. Why not promote a high paying CPA offer that everybody likes!!!

It changes...your best bet is to use an affiliatepaying, offervault, or similar aggregator to do a search!
