A Complete CPA Newbie...

Hi Guys,

I have been reading the posts for a while and think this forum is awesome, I'm based in the UK and just starting out with the CPA stuff, is it really as good for earning potential as claimed? or is it one of those too good to be true things?, I know people regularly post on here how much these campaigns are generating, but not how much of that amount is really profits, I consider I'm a fairly intelligent guy who can turn my hand to most things, and have got my fingers crossed that this might be the opportunity I keep searching for, any help and advice would be greatly appreciated,

Nice to meet you all BTW
Chris

    Hey Welcome.

CPA is a great way to earn money online and there are many ways to monetize CPA offers. BUT, there is work involved. Its not like ifyou call yourself a CPA marketer, money will flow into your bank account.

It involves work but there is absolutely a ton of potential. The great thing is that there are many ways to generate free traffic so in essence, not counting the cost of time or personal labor, the revenue IS the profit.

You found a good place to learn the ropes though!

    Hi Kenster,
Thanks for responding, I bought your Rags to Riches guide and found it inspiring, I tried messaging you but don't think it would let me due to not having enough posts - I'm using you as my inspiration you have only been at it a year and a half and seem to be successful with it, congrats on that, I hope I can pick your brains a bit and get off on the right track, Neverblue contacted me today and opened me an account, and so have Maxbounty, and another company over here in the UK, which is great, I've had a couple turn me down but thats life, I consider work with what I do have and see how it goes, I keep trying to create facebook ads and they keep disapproving them, not sure if its the content (dating for women, Debt reduction) but I am trying to use a direct link, and they mention something about not being able to follow the link through, should I try and create a landing page and frame the offer < I sounded like i know what i'm on about there didn't I?..lol, seriously though I know where to get a domain name, just not sure about the frame stuff and how to create the page, so any help there would be appreciated!, this would also be a better option for putting in newsgroups blogs etc I'm thinking as the URL would be tidier, has anyone used Ebay classified listings to promote their Ads?, is it possible?, anyway thanks in advance for any info, and thanks especially to you Kenster, for writing a great guide, and for replying to my post, if you would like to mentor me I'd be really grateful and we can split the profits ,
    Cheers
    Chris

      Hi Kenster,
I want to know if you are interested in promoting CPA websites for a fee. My budget is tight but I know that with your experience you will be a great asset to me. I am focusing on link building using squidoo to drive insane traffic to my website. I am also interested in harnessing the power of facebook and twitter. Please let me know at johncere at gmail.com. I do not have enough PMs to send you a message. Please email me. Thanks.

        Hey Chris,

Glad to see you taking initiative and testing out a bunch of stuff, including facebook which I didnt even mention in the R2R guide (i dont think).

In general, I dont do a whole lot of facebook, but I know its pretty tricky getting ads through for many types of cpa offers.

But congrats on getting into NB, really great network with great offers, thats a really good start. Have you thought about trying free methods at first until you get the hang of things. And nice job with the i-frame term, you are really sounding like a CPAer haha.

Keep testing things out but realize you will need to focus on one thing for a while to master it. Its okay to dabble in facebook, blogs, and ebay like you are but then pick one direction and just master it

        Keep CPAing buddy!

    Hi Kenster,
Thanks for the Reply, I appreciate the help, I'm going to read through the guide again, maybe with fresh eyes and a little more understanding regarding a few things, I think I was extremely lucky to be honest, I chucked a banner on my website for Cosmetic surgery and had a conversion within 4 clicks for $21, bugger all since though, and I honestly didn't expect anything, I have just put a few offers on my business website homepage in the hope a few of my customers might take an interest and click on them...basically its just so I feel like I'm doing something whilst trying to decide on the best route, I was considering not even bothering with Facebook but a guy on the forum ChadH has had good results on there and hammers facebook with Ads, so maybe when I am a little more confident I'll give that a try. Here is my plan of Action, let me know if you think I'm on the right path:

    1. Find a good offer that I think should convert ok.
    2. Buy a Domain name, and either re-direct to the offer, or use an i-frame (once i get my head around how to do that properly, I understand how it works, just not how to do it, but then again I haven't tried it yet)
    3. Find related internet content - Blogs, newpages etc etc that relates to the offer, and write some content thats relevant, and slip my URL in there somewhere.
    4. One thing as well, for my website at least, I have discovered previously that if you join a massive member group on facebook, the 'I love it when you text me first' is a good example, you can put your URL of your site in there, I know its completely off topic, but it sends a message to everyone in that group who has commented on whichever particular threath it is, hence they see your URL, and I have had quite a few visits to my site using this method, so its worth looking at for an offer.

Just a note on the domain name, if I keep it referring to a broad group, like debt help etc, at least if the offer is crap or it goes bad I can redirect it to another one cant I?,
Please let me know what you think, and if these would be good steps for a beginner to take,
    Cheers
    Chris

Nice 25% conversion rate on a high paying trial offer, I will take it! haha

As a note, there are people doing very well with EVERY traffic source, so just pick one. Chad is doing well with facebook shouldnt be your guiding thought in my opinion.

As for your plan I would do the following

Instead of finding an offer and then just randomly finding traffic, I would focus on the traffic first. Traffic is king here. So decide what traffic soruce you wish to use AND THEN find a matching CPA offer for that traffic source.

Finding good traffic is harder than finding an offer so I would do it that way instead of the other way around.

As for I-framing, whether it makes sense will depend on the traffic as well. Some traffic will require a landing page so Iframing is irrelevant.

So I guess the overall theme here is that traffic should be your focus. Once you get a handle on which traffic you want to use, then your whole strategy will be based around that.

    Does that make sense?

    Ken

    Hi Chris,

I know CPA may sound 'too good to be true'. But the reason most of us are in this business as well is because it really does provide results for us. Simply put, you can make money out of this and if you scale way, you can really reach your financial goal.

I see that Ken has guided you to the right path here. With that, I believe you will be making what you want through CPA. Keep it up!

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for your encouragement, it really does help to motivate!, I think you are probably right Kenster, I know just because one persons way of things might work for them, doesn't necessarily mean it will work for everyone, my thinking behind it was that it *does* work so has the potential to work for anyone if they can find the right market for it..I am also thinking that targeting a potential niche would be better - for instance targeting bird watchers with a specific offer for them, other than a Debt offer that covers a very broad spectrum with tons of competition, would you say thats a good way of doing things?, I really want to get my teeth sunk in to this properly, I just feel like i'm stood at a road with a million paths to take wondering which one would be a good one to start on

But thankyou all for your posts mpbiz I hope I can be one of those people one day, I have looked at all sorts of schemes to earn money throughout my life, and always managed to stay afloat financially, but now I want to swim and earn some proper money, I have 5 young kids, 4 girls and a little boy and I want to make sure they go to University and have all the things and options in life I never had, thats my main driving force to do well for them, and not have to struggle any more, I'm hoping I've found the anwer in CPA

Thankyou too Aira, every little helps on the stairway to success, positive reinforcement is one of the most valuable tools to kick people up the ass and get them cracking! which is what I'm going to do now, start planning and look for my target market..thank you all

I know what you mean but I would just emphasize that almost everything does work if you know what you are doing. People make money with every traffic source out there. Its a matter of getting good at any one thing! Ya know
