When Did You Start Marketing?

When did you start affiliate marketing? I launched my first dating campaign (for SinglesNet) back in 2005. I moved over to large media buys in early 2007 (my best decision yet).

I've done a bunch of other stuff though too, detailed here: Ryan Eagle Blog | The Rise to the Top

Ryan's tutorial in his private CPA network is even better

      Thank Ryans, for sharing this!

BTW, Ryan, I only started to market CPA stuffs since Jan 2010. And I've made quite a good ROI on what I've invested, into some CPV traffic.

Thanks to Ryan's timely (and higher) payout, I was able to net around $70-$80 with some small amount of money for 2 weeks straight, until that particular offer dies off back in January...

I started a couple years ago on the freelunchroom where you would fill out what essentially is cpa offers on 'freebie networks' for a portion of the commission. Then someone ended up spamming an affiliate marketing link on the forum. I of course clicked on it and that started my discovery of affiliate marketing. One thing led to another and another and another and eventually started making some coin through affiliate marketing, cpa marketing, flipping websites, etc.

I started with adult dating in 2005. I pushed some insane traffic to adult dating back in my early years. My brother ended up landing a job over at DatingGold so I pushed a lot of traffic to them. I stumbled into CPA a few years later and started with the mainstream offers - it was a little bit different than dating but a lot of the same principles still applied.

I diversified a bit more and worked my way into creating software products, selling them on Clickbank, and then flipping the site for a great deal of money. This process was a real eye opener to how much money can be made if you create, launch, promote, and then sell a successful site - people pay big for these sites! This was definitely a 'rinse and repeat' ftw!

I've done other things as well like run private hosting for acquaintances in the industry, PPI ventures, and other 'creative' things that were exciting and fun! Now I am here today running a CPA network viewing things from various angles. IM has definitely been a fun and exciting venture and keeps me glued to my laptop and blackberry. I have also enjoyed helping people out along the way - some of the people I helped are making good money today and it's great to hear their success stories!

I've been into IM, reading, assuming (for a year or something...), then also trying some auto-following twitter schemes (for a month or so...)

Now 2 months in a row, taking it seriously and having fun (it ain't profitable of yet though) and taking action. Free traffic only.
Much reading is over, so now it's plain action. Focus sometimes makes me too overwhelmed. Walk a bit around the block and go on.

P.S. I started marketing, when I was born by the way

Correct - it was marketing vs affiliate marketing. I started in SEO before I tried my first affiliate campaign. Been great times.

And for all you that have questions about EWA feel free to contact me privately. I don't want to clutter up these boards with thread hijacking.

Well, I started year 2008.. Actually I don't have my own website! I'm just promoting website in SEO process. And it's like IM too coz of course I'm responsible for bringing a good reputation and traffic for my handled sites.

I started after reading Traffic Ultimatum by George Brown around March 2010. From there I started reading so many ebooks and watching so many videos. I got information so overloaded in my head and can't decide where to start. Until I get into a CPA Network (small network that approve straight). I learnt PPC and start marketing since around end of May. I'm making around $10 a day (not net). Will start venturing into PPV later if i'm more confident

Started in SEO over 10 years ago, worked for many web design / online marketing agencies during that time heading client SEO/SEM departments. Launched my own Freelance SEO agency some time ago still doing that in my part time.

I also heavily monetize most of my own web properties through Adsense, have done so since around 06 -- they still generate some healthy income but not enough to sustain my lifestyle, wife and mortgage.

Recently started working for one of the largest mobile entertainment companies (think IQ Quiz, Crush Calculator and other premium sms mobile sites and was moved into the affiliate manager role which is new to be, but enjoying it!

Nice! I made the switch to running a network about 1.5yrs ago and I took about 3 months off from affiliate marketing before I had time to reorganize a group of media buyers to handle it for me.

It's been wonderful running both companies now .

I started in 1996. I figured it out for myself. I had a dial up, and then switch to DSL that didn't work that well. Check this out. At the time, I paid $147 per month for DSL and $1487-$1827 per month hosting and I thought I was getting a good deal.

I started about 6 years ago with some stupid pyramide scheme. Thought I was gonna be a Millionaire , lol. Then I didn't do a thing online for about 3 years. Two years ago I got into the Spiderwebmarketing thing and through that I got to know Brian Bear and Tissa Godavitarne through GDI . One thing led to another and I started promoting the reverse cell phone lookup offers (with some success). Well, now I am hooked. I am more into CPA nowadays.
