Facebook ads - another canned response..

Hi,

I'm hoping warriors with facebook experience can offer some help as to why my 2 ads keep being disapproved.

They link to a dating cpa offer outside of facebook, both ad pics are conservative compared to what else i've seen and the links work fine. Here's the ad text:

looking for a girlfriend?

Find single girls in your area today. Joining cupid is quick and simple. Start searching now!

Facebook response:

The destination URL of this ad either violates Facebook's Advertising Guidelines or could not be reviewed. Please review the URL you have submitted to ensure that it is free of any spelling errors and that it complies with sections 2 and 4 of the Facebook Advertising Guidelines.<br />Please note that all sites must be viewable and functioning properly, regardless of the viewer's location. Additionally, sites are prohibited from linking to proprietary file types (.pdf, .doc, etc,) initiating automatic downloads, or trapping a user's browser in any way (e.g., pop-ups of any kind.)

Hope someone can help (facebook can't)

Gary

  • Are you direct linking or using an LP?

Are you offering an international dating offer?
If you are offering an international offer, you have to use a geo redirect so the FB reviewers can see an active page.

      Hey

The trick to Facebook PPC is to keep resubmitting ads. One will eventually get thru. The FB ads team is sometimes completely useless but if you just keep banging at this door it will open. Remember, it's a numbers game here.

Any questions just let me know

thanks for replies badboy & Charles :-)

Facebook have emailed back earlier and have specified what the problem is, they can't review the landing page.

I'm in the UK and the offer is for UK only and I'm direct linking.

        @Charles - is this why I need a geo redirect ?

  • ^^^ Yes. You need to direct the US visitors to a cupid landing page or something. You can do this with a simple javascript redirect. Search google for one.

The facebook staff are located in USA and when they view your link ,it is getting redirected to another offer as the dating offer will not be available to US traffic .You can either cloack the offer by linking it directly to the dating site (and edit your aff link after approval.I use prosper202 tracking link to edit/rotate aff links) or use a landing page

When I make a change to the link though after approval, because this ad has been edited, won't it have to be approved again ? In which case I'm back to square 1

  • ^^^Just get a .info and add the redirect scriot. For US send them to a US cupid offer. For UK send them to your offer. Then you dont have to mess with it anymore. With the proper redirect scriipt, you can redirect as many countries as you want to at one time.

To save starting a new thread I dug this one up.

I tried to place my first ads yesterday on fb for a UK campaign 'lotto by text' basically giving people 5 free lines on the national lottery for signing up and it got rejected with the following response:-

The content advertised by this advert is restricted. As per section 5 of Facebook's Advertising Guidelines, this content is prohibited from being advertised on Facebook. We reserve the right to determine what advertising we accept, and will not allow the creation of any further Facebook adverts for this product. Adverts for this product, service or site should not be resubmitted. We appreciate your co-operation with this policy.

I have checked the policy and s.5 part v says that gambling is restricted without authorisation from fb.

Is it worth resubmitting an ad like this or will it not get through? Also, how come there are lots of ads offering free bets at various bookmakers?

On top of that, how do you go about getting authorisation from fb for a gambling ad?

          Thanks for any advice guys.

FB Ads was one of the most bxxxhy self-serve ads platform. A lot of money can be made, I know... The other trick is try to outsource this and have someone keep submitting the rejected ads for you.. They sometimes just disapprove you ads without any reason...

Good luck and keep us updated with your progress...

P/S : And yes, their stupid canned response was a frustrating thing to deal with. They tell you something with the pre-written canned response, with vague direction... It will get you no where most of the time.

Is this a standard response though, I mean should I try submitting them again? I've had 2 refused so far.

I had an ad rejected on facebook as well. I emailed them to clarify why it got denied because the only thing I could find was I capitalized the first letter of all three words (lame). I'm just going to follow the other warriors advice and just keep submitting them until one sneaks through!

I finally got an Ad accepted from facebook. I did what the more experienced ppl said and I just kept submitting them. Honestly when I got it accepted it was at night and and I got a response in like 10 mins. Maybe someone was just hitting the accept button? Oh well, its active now and I'm hoping it converts. Stick to it because we know it is possible to advertise on the book the trick is finding out how to get your ad accepted. Good luck!

    Hey Maty,

No mine said something about section 2 and 4 I believe. I honestly didnt take much time reading and I just made up a new one quick and resubmitted it. Just got my second accepted a couple hours ago. I think Im starting to get the hang of what they want. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help!

      Thanks Sean

I have just had another 12 ads rejected for a different campaign - earn money to complete surveys, getting a bit disheartened with it to be honest not sure I want to waste any more time with them.

I would suggest finding an ad that is currently running on facebook and try to model yours after theirs. There's something like 300 million users on facebook I don't think the market will be saturated if you put an ad together that is similar to theirs. This is of course just to rise your moral and prove to you that you can advertise on facebook. After you get that one accepted keep the ad looking the same but just change the offer (one that is compliant with FB's guidelines of course). Don't give up on FB advertising its a HUGE market!
