Prosper 202/Maxbounty question

Hi guys, I need a little help regarding tracking Maxbounty campaigns with Prosper 202.

This is the tracking code from Maxbounty which I inserted into Prosper202:
http://www.mb01[dot][com]/lnk.asp?o=xxxx&c=xxxxxx&a=xxxxx&s1=[[subid]]

Have I got this part right? Do I need to add the [[subid]] with or without quotes?

This is the tracking link from prosper which I inserted into DirectCPV as the destination URL:
http://xxxxxxxxxx.xxxxxxx.com/tracking202/redirect/dl.php?t202id=xxxx&t202kw={ { vurl } }

I added the { { vurl } } with quotes. Again, I am not sure whether to add this with or without quotes. Finally, I add the callback pixel which Prosper202 gave me:

http://xxxxxxx.xxxxxxx.com/tracking2...amount=&subid=

I have ran a few campaigns but no conversion are showing up. Strangely, I can see which URL's the impressions are coming from but not the conversions when I check my stats in Prosper.
I know I have some conversions because I can see them in Maxbounty. When I check the subid report in MB, I get the subids for clicks but when I click conversions, I get subid=subid and no numerical value.Confusing the hell out of me, any help would be much appreciated.

  • I recently got Tracking202 working with Maxbounty, which I guess is similar, you have to leave off the [[subid]] so it looks like xxxxx&s1=

I haven't used DirectCPV, but with Leadimpact you don't include the kw={ { vurl } } on the end, as they provide that their end. You may have to email the Affiliate manager at DirectCPV if it doesn't work.

I had a lot of trouble getting the callback pixel to return my conversions to Tracking202, in the end I emailed my affiliate manager with every script and callback URL Tracking202 had and asked which one to use. They emailed back with the correct coding and it works great. (Mine ended in 29931xv)

    Hope this helps

    Good Luck

  • Hey Bravo,

You have that correct... You add the [[subid]] without quotes.

Generally you shouldn't need quotes for the { { vurl } } unless the CPV engine specifies that you do.

When you look at your keywords in Prosper do they all have quotes? If so you probably don't need to add quotes to your { { vurl } }.

When using the post back url, you need to add some code... It depends on what that particular affiliate network supports... Generally you would add amount={amount}&subid={subid}...

Different affiliate networks support different attributes and not all support 'amount' for instance. When you add your post back url in Max Bounty you should see which attributes they support and what code they specify to use for each.

    That should help out some.

Hmmm... Not sure about the subid=subid. Might be a Max Bounty thing. Have you tried another network also to see if it does the same thing?

If it does the same thing, then you know it's Prosper202 causing the issue.

Unless you get the correct subids for your conversions, you'll have a hard time getting the post back url to work.

That's a big issue right now for you.

I don't use Max Bounty, so I can't really do much.

Are you using Prosper202 version 1.5.1 right now?

You might consider going back to version 1.3.2 for the moment while version 1.6 is being beta tested.

The deal is though that version 1.3.2 works a little differently then 1.5.1, so you need to be aware of that. For instance you don't add [[subid]] after your affiliate link... You leave it blank in 1.3.2...

    It would read like s1=

    That's it.

I've noticed that 1.5.1 has had some weird issues and since Wes and crew have bought back the company, they're trying to get Prosper202 fixed with the latest version still in beta.

I wish I could help out more...

    Thanks,

    Derek

  • Code Snippet
Value Returned in Callback #S1# The value that was in the s1 on the click that generated the lead. #S2# The value that was in the s2 on the click that generated the lead. #OFFID# The ID of the campaign for which a lead was generated. #IP# The IP address from where the lead was generated.

    Examples
    Here are some examples:
    http://www.mysite.com/postback.php?memberid=#S1#
    http://www.mysite.com/callme.asp?s1=#S1#&ipaddress=#IP#
    http://www.mysite.com/gotlead.php?campaign=#OFFID#

So my callback pixel/url would be
    http://xxxxx.xxxx[dot][com]/tracking202/static/gpb.php?amount=&subid=#S1#

    or
    http://xxxxx.xxxx[dot][com]/tracking202/static/gpb.php?amount=&s1=#S1#

    • Hey Bravo,

      Awesome...

The post back url is going to stay the same, so the only thing you add is the code snippet that Max Bounty uses...

      This is the correct one:

      http://xxxxx.xxxx[dot][com]/tracking202/static/gpb.php?amount=&subid=#S1#

      Hope that helps out...

      Thanks,

  • OK, I officially give up trying to track Maxbounty campaigns with Prosper202. I have tried every possible variable possible and just can't get the damn thing to track properly. I am getting conversions but have no idea where they are coming from.

    This is my callback pixel:

    http://tracker.mydomain.com/tracking...nt=&subid=#S1#

This is the tracking code entered into PPV network:
    http://tracker.mydomain.com/tracking202/redirect/dl.php?t202id=1327&t202kw={ { vurl } }

This is the tracking code from Maxbounty with subid appended:
    http://www.mb01(dot)(com)/lnk.asp?o=xxxx&c=xxxxx&a=xxxx&s1=subid

I have contacted my AM about this but all they can tell me is that I can place the tracking pixel on site.

Anyone else having problems tracking MB campaigns with Prosper? With Neverblue, I have no problems. Although sometimes conversions appear in Prosper but not NB.

    • Your best bet is to setup a HTTP redirect logger and watch the redirects until you see where your sub-ID tracking is being lost. This is what I use when I debug problems like this for affiliates. Two redirect loggers are httpwatch.com (a browser install) and wheregoes.com, and web based tool.

Watching the redirects won't fix the problem, but it'll let you know where the detailed tracking stops so you can focus the problem solving there.

  • I'm haing the same trouble with MB and 202, no conversions are using the callback. Until my AM can tell me how to fix it, I manually import the conversion subID's into 202. It works but it's a major pain in the a$$.

Let me know if you get a resolution Bravo...

    Cheers
  • Hi everyone,

My question is quite related to this one so instead of opening a new thread I'll just post it here.

I am trying to set up Prosper 202 with DirectCPV, AWeber, and MaxBounty.
I want to start an URL campaign on DirectCPV (may also add keywords in a later stage). When one of my URLs is triggered visitors will see my squeeze page, and after (non-confirmed) opt-in the (AWeber) thank you page will be the MaxBounty offer.

So basically I want to track the URLs and see which ones result in leads. I will also send AWeber broadcasts but I will use specific SUBIDs for those; right now I am just trying to set up tracking for the leads that resulted from the AWeber thank you page (=offer).

Up to now I did my tracking manually, so my question to you guys is: can the above be done with Prosper 202, and if yes: how should I set it up?
I must say I am a bit confused because I believe DirectCPV and AWeber also have tracking functionalities, and from what I understand Prosper 202 is primarily meant for PPC.

    Thanks!

    • Hey Movid,

The only problem I see is you're not going to use an actual thank you page. At least that's what it looks like to me.

If you have someone opt-in and you don't send them to a thank you page where you can place the tracking pixel, you won't be able to track opt-ins using Prosper202.

Setting up a squeeze page in Proper202 is very similar to tracking your own product.

Here's a video, using Prosper202 1.3.2... it goes through setting up your own product. Same concept for setting up your squeeze page.

The only difference between it and the new versions is you don't need the '?' anymore, there are placeholders now. And you probably don't need to use those either for your squeeze page setup.

Can I use Prosper202 to track my PPC campaigns and keywords on Yahoo Search marketing and MSN primarily for MY OWN products? | Ad Tracker

If you want to track opt-ins, you may need to change up your business model a little bit.

      I hope that helps out...

      Thanks,

      Derek

  • Why not just use subid's and Microsoft excel? Must faster than scrolling through 8 pages in 202. At least for me, personally. I've never looked back!
