Hi,

I want to buy some traffic from sellers on forums.

But I want to know if there is a way to track if this seller is really sending traffic.

Sorry but I'm new here

Thank you

You'll want to run something like Tracking 202 ( Free PPC Affiliate Tracking Software | Tracking202 ). It's totally free and web based so you'll be up and running in no time. I suggest you watch the training videos first as it can seem a bit daunting.

When you want to take the next step, download prosper202 from the same site. It's the same suite of tools but you can then host it yourself.

    Hope that helps

    Cheers

Personally I'd suggest using Prosper202 and hosting it on your own server.

Tracking202 goes down too much for my liking - I wouldn't trust my tracking to anybody's server but mine.

It's a free solution so I would definitely use your server.

Prosper202 would work, but I think that you can just use subIDs.

The video tutorials on the site are pretty good to get you up and running. Just look for the "VIDEO" option in the main menu and watch them twice

And agree with all of the comments about how often the site goes down. Major pain in the butt and can cost you some serious $$ if you're driving paid traffic.

But if you're going to host yourself, don't use Hostgator. The script is not compatable with the Hostgator mySQL DB. (though there is apparently a fix available for $15)

      Cheers

I also tried using proper202 and was not happy as the site was offline half the time. As suggest above, hosting is on your server would be better, that way you have full control.

I will give it a try again when I get home tonight and see how to self-host it.

    Hi,

I tested Tracking 202, but its not really what I'm looking for.

What I want is to insert a stats script and when I want to buy ADs from people.

I will give them links like mydomain.com/?VAR=advertiserID

So when I look in the stats, I will found something like
advertiser 1 sent you : XXXX visitors
advertiser 2 sent you : YYYY visitors

    And thank you

In that case you should be able to get someone here to roll one for you. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes for some body who knows what they're doing to knock one together in PHP. Post a job in the programming section and someone will write a custom script for you.

      Good luck

Well, google analytics will be sufficient to do what you want. They will tell you the source of traffic. You could just set up a goal on Google Analytics, which will track the conversions, that way, you will see which traffic is converting.

Tracking202 is not that difficult once you figure it out. If you can install Wordpress, you can install 202.

its not the install thats an issue... its setting up the campaigns.... i'm sure its a lil easier if you're an affiliate.... but trying to track your own ads with 202 is a nightmare....

Use Tracking 202 or AxROI (standalone). These are your best solutions.

Any questions just let me know

A really simple way to track that doesn't require any programming knowledge is to use a bit.ly link. Just create a different tracking link for each source of traffic. Another very simple way is to create a unique page for each traffic source and install google analytics and look at referrals to those pages. If you know how to program then the above will seem too basic but hope that helps.
