Article Marketers Do NOT Give Up!

Morning Girls and Guys (well afternoon/evening depending on where you are),

I thought I'd quickly tell my story before I head off to school. I am currently writing 5 articles per day and distributing them to ezinearticles and then 2-3 other directories once they are approved.

I have been reading some threads where people still do not believe that article marketing can work and I say DO NOT GIVE UP! You are most likely on the edge of making some cash and you are willing to give that up?

Take for example one of my articles which was approved while I slept: The long-tail keyword I used get on average ~40-50 view per day which really does not seem that much. When I checked where my article was ranking on Google; to my surprise, I was on the first page in #5.

All it will take is 15-20 high quality backlinks to get me up to the top #2 and I have 6-7 other keywords that are looking promising.

As I said before - the whole moral to the story is to keep pumping out those articles because something WILL work, something WILL click with your audience and you will convert those leads and make some cash.

Hypothetical: If you can get 20 articles to stick on the top 1/2 position of google bringing in even 30 views per day. 20 x 30 = 600 views. Even if those 600 views on get a click through and conversion rate of 5% for CPA which is quite low that is still 600 * 0.05 = 30 leads/day.

Now depending on how much a lead is worth; $5 or $10 that could be $150/$300 per day.

Those numbers are very realistic and YES you CAN do it! Do not let others tell you that it is not possible or that it is too hard. You will only see results when you continue to take action (or begin depending on where you are standing)

    what a great post to start the day. Really inspiring. Especially for someone who hasn't made money online just yet. I'm not into article marketing, nonetheless thanks for the post. Are you direct linking to the advertiser's page or are you building your own landing page?

    • At the moment I am direct linking and testing out what converts for particular keywords and sub-niches that I have. Once I get some funds then I will be directing all my traffic to squeeze pages and building authority with my list.

  • I'm no longer using article marketing, but I have successfully used it in the past to promote Clickbank products. So, yes, I think that article marketing has a very good potential. Of course PPC, media buying and a few other paid traffic sources can generate better pay checks, but article marketing is great for people who can't invest on paid advertising and can definetely be used to make a full-time income.

  • ok im going to second this thread because I have ONE article on ezines that I wrote about 3 weeks ago.As of now I have received 74 clicks to my offer and one conversion with one article. To me that is a mile stone because I did that weeks ago. Now just think when I optimize that one article and spin it a few times. I dont even know how it ranks lol. But this article mmketing works and its free PLEASE USE IT. : - )

    • Well said Mike, it can be hard when you check your stats and notice that nothing has come in, but usually people give up right before they reach success.

      To put it in a real world perspective it would be like running a 100m race; you are sprinting down the track (represented by the articles being pumped out) but most people do not see results and begin to slow down at the end. What these people do not realise is that they are only two or three steps away from getting to the finish line.

      Perseverance is the key to success.

      Just want to ask...did you actually directlink or use landing pages. I personally use landing pages and want to know if anyone has had success with directlinking....

    I feel the need to chip in here. Saying NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER BACK DOWN is a great motivational slogan, but Im not sure if Article Marketing is the right approach here.

    I like SEO, but I learned from experience that if you wanna play with the big boys you better do paid traffic first ... and THEN all the SEO *IF* you really feel the need to do it. Chances are you have made enough money anyway.

    But to be honest, I couldnt make 3-4 figures a day with article marketing ... I do it with PPC and I do it VERY quickly. Why bother investing time when you can spend some cash and be quicker that way? But in any case "When the going gets tough, the tough get going!" I know I did when I managed to quit my 9-5

    • Whilst I do not entirely disagree with you, most people who start out in CPA are still 'learning the rope' so to speak and experience is a major factor in CPA. Sure you will earn more in PPC and do it much quicker but most 'newbies' will throw money at PPC and not learn how to properly do keyword research, study their markets etc.

      As for me - Once I get the funds flowing from free methods I will be re-investing in PPC and with the knowledge I have learned here and from the action I have taken; I know that I stand a greater chance of making the big bucks.

  • For new cpa gogetters articles are the best place to start. Sure it takes time to see results but what that does is build persistence. Thats the one thing many marketers are lacking. If you can pump articles for a month faithfully with seeing any income just think when you see money coming in. Ppc is not a good place to start but who am I to say where is a good place to start you might kill it with ppc lol

  • Read what other people are writing in your niche - add variations to your articles. Some articles might be informative like "Why do I need insurance" and others might be "3 ways find the best insurance deal". You can also add anecdotes. There really are millions of ways to re-word things.

      I am just about to start artice marketing full on after dabbling in it months ago. Its good to see someone else fired up about it!

      I was unsure if I should build a site first and then write articles for that site, or get the articles going and build a site on the side.

      I think your idea is the best, get the articles out there, see what is working, and design a site to suit.

    • Well, I am using CPA so I do not 'sell' anything. All my audience has to do is fill in a short form (one page) and I make between $7-$20 depending on which offer I choose to promote; since all my keywords are related to what my audience wants to find and the offer matches up nicely; there is no doubt in my mind that it is worth my effort and will convert for me in the end.

    Get enough articles out there and unless you are a complete clutz, its impossible not to make money. Glad to see you taking initiative and putting your knowledge to work!!! From your past posts, I can tell you were motivated from day 1 to get ahead and that got you over the first obstacle of actually getting something done. You would be amazed how many people never ever even try anything.

    Congrats and I have no doubt you will be in the winners circle sooner than later!!!

      Your words inspire me to keep pumping out more articles because I know that one day I will hit the legendary $100/day. When my funds begin to accumulate I will be able to move onto PPC and start to really test out what I have learned.

  • @TheAnnoyingOrange - First, I love the nickname. I pretty much crack a smile every time I see your avatar and read your nickname. Second, thanks for the great thread. I'm on the same page as you with article marketing. I realize it takes a little more time than PPC or other paid methods, but I know that its a GREAT long term strategy and it will start paying off soon if it hasn't already. Keep up the good work and I hope you keep us updated! I'll see you in the winner circle (when we both get there! )

    • I could make it 10-15 per day but then I would be waking up 3 hours earlier in the morning (complaining will get me no-where in the business I know). Instead (alternative ) I am willing to combine articles with video creation. I did a little reading today and figured out a great way to pump out 10 or so videos in about 20-30 minutes.

      So 5 articles + 10 videos per day and do back linking on the weekends - this is my current plan. Let me know what you think.

    • Currently I do blog commenting where I find blogs that are in my niche, have a PR between 1-7 and then just leave a comment, my name (the anchor text/keyword I'm trying to rank for) and the website (the article itself).

      Of course I have software that does a lot of this for me.

  • Thanks for that insightful post. I've been using articles to send traffic to my sites, but I completely forgot that I could add hoplinks in the articles as well.

    What type of landing pages are you using, or are you direct linking. Not sure how many article directories allow DL.

  • Article marketing in my opinion can put a lot of traffic but it is very time consuming for the amount of traffic. However this was a really good post. Its best outsourced for lots of articles.

    • It is time consuming but there are two types of people: Those who are "cash poor" and those who are "time poor". At the moment I am cash poor and so I have to invest time to build up. People who have already done what I have (Kenster for example) are now time poor as they have the money and are using it to build many campaigns, it just isn't worth their time to be using free traffic methods.

      For now I am direct linking until I build up some funds then ill be switching to a squeeze page and building a list ASAP. I have a domain which I redirect to my offer to keep EZA, goarticles and articlebase all happy (but mainly EZA)

    • Sure, I agree, especially when you want to deliver quality. Unfortunately I am a perfectionist therefore cannot outsource or use spinners. But I am compensated by the quality of traffic, backlinks and the hundreds of comments on my blog. It takes time but after a while you will get more followers, quality subscribers, backlinks and it will worth it.
      I am currently ranking Page 1 five times thanks to article marketing for my KW, number one is my site, but there are 6 months old articles on page 1 still.

    • Not a problem Kenster. I will be giving back to the community that has already taught me so much.

      Current Status: Testing like crazy; things included are: Articles with and without backlinks, google wonder wheel to include 5-10 or 8-15 LSI keywords, length of articles (300-450) and (450-600), different article directories and offers.

      Much to be done but hey, once I find the perfect formula it will only be a matter of duplicating and scaling. I can feel it already!

  • Are there any techies out there that know how to spin articles correctly for a fee? I have 5 domains in the same niche and I don't want to pay for the same articles written differently 5 times but I would be willing to pay a fraction for well written spun articles from on high quality original.

    • Use the search button on this forum.. there is plenty of software to spin articles; if that is the way you want to go about article marketing.
